Remember all the rumors that PS5 GPU was not really RDNA 2? Well here is the physical proof of that. That's why it doesn't support VRS, Mesh Shaders, etc.

That's not proof lol they said all along it's customized, things that weren't needed were yanked, things that were specific for windows were yanked. This is about Zen 2 isn't it? it's the CPU not the GPU.

I can tell you didn't read the full article, but I guess that's to be expected from people like you, Vall, etc.

No I've read plenty of stories about it already today but again it is RDNA2 and you keep reaching for anything to try to downplay the PS5 for some reason, it's sad.

If it was Zen 1... it be pretty bad for XSX losing all those faceoffs 🤭
I don't know why anyone is still trying to bring this crap up, they are both powerful they will both have games that look/perform better than the other machine and no matter which one you choose you should have a good next gen experience. People want to make this like it's X1 vs PS4 again and it's nothing close to that, we don't have 720p vs 1080p at launch like we did back then let alone one of them costing $100 more while being weaker. It's a new gen and a fresh start and so far PS5 has won most of the head to heads but it's not like it's always going to be that way, XSX has won a couple as well and in time it'll likely have games at a slightly higher res which really wont matter much when they are both well above 1080p for anything other than 120fps games.

Doesn't prove anything. People in the know are under NDA. Mark Cerny at 34:33 in his Road to PS5: "PlayStation 5 is especially challenging because the CPU supports 256 bit native instructions that consume a lot of power."

The 128bits theory doesn’t fit.
The removal of FADD doesn’t fit.
They don’t know what AMD/Sony did here.

10 years from now, looking back at the bickering about the next gen specs of these machines will most likely makes us lol and/or cringe.

With that said, Xbox rulez Playstation droolz, death to ponys!

Maybe we'll even be able to get a PS5 by then.

Woke up to see an alert that Amazon had stock... 4 hours ago.

The real kick in the pants though is we had some amber alert last night that set that emergency tone off on my phone and scared the **** out of me. Had I actually checked twitter I may have gotten one, but of course I just turned the alert off.

The missing child was your PS5.

Anyone pick the new Nioh collection up? I've been in the mood to play another samurai or ninja game, trying to decide if I should consider the Nioh Collection (played through much of the first game, but never finished it on PS4), or Sekiro since it runs at 60fps on PS5 (never played it last gen).

Plus RDNA 1 doesn't do RT and doesn't run at clocks as high as PS5.
As time goes by the brooms will start sweeping the BS away.
I never said it was RDNA1. What that article does say is that it looks like the render backend is of older tech, and not the RDNA2 render backend. The PS5 GPU doesn't support hardware VRS or Mesh shaders which could also be an indicator. Which is pretty interesting. The hybrid theory seems to have some weight. Yet you guys never fully read the article so you wouldn't know it said that and instead went into frantic damage control mode, like you guys always do.

This was never a bash on the PS5 just stating that past rumors of it being a hybrid may hold some weight and that it simply is interesting.

The VRS and Mesh shader has already been discussed few months ago. Sony has patents for their own version of VRS and mesh shaders. Maybe that's why they cut out the parts they don't need.

Don't have the collection yet but I will eventually as I never got to Nioh 2. Loved the first Nioh though. Sekiro I gave up on at some point lol. Bloodborne was the only From game I could get into though and while I enjoyed Sekiro for what it was, the trial and error put me off a bit I guess. Nioh definitely isn't as hard to me.

Has anyone been able to grab the PS+ games? Obviously can't grab them on PS5 store yet but with Bugsnax I could just go on the site and add it. Looking at both Control and Destruction All-Stars though it just has the option to buy the game in the case of Control, or just blank with nothing showing up for Destruction.

Yeah been adding to library via the PS5 when they go up.

I've still yet to receive a shipping notification from Gamestop, but I just happened to open my side door this afternoon to see if it was still snowing, and a giant box is sitting on it's side in a precarious position on the very edge of my steps, the tape on one side half torn open. I hurried and yanked it off the porch. It was insanely lucky a breeze hadn't blown it off onto the concrete. Sure enough, it's my PS5 bundle! The side that had been on the ground was wet, but luckily nothing inside was. I'm assuming it hadn't been out there long.

Having never seen one of these in person, I wasn't ready for how damn big it is, haha. The plastic stand doesn't feel all that secure to be honest, I did the exact same thing as Pureshooter and loaded my first disc in backwards. The disc drive was insanely noisy loading a game onto the harddrive, hopefully it doesn't sound like that when playing!!

Presently downloading a bunch of games, haven't had a chance to play anything yet. Controller feels & looks nice. I see you can dim the lights on the controller, is there a way to dim the lights on the console?

I musted have missed the month where Bugsnax was on PS+, not seeing that one in my library. I've got Control, Maneater, and Destruction All-Stars though.
