RDNA2 and RT for both next gen consoles.

AMD AS A COMPANY…STRONGLY BELIEVES IN THE VALUE AND CAPABILITY OF RAYTRACING. RDNA 2, THE NEXT-GEN, WILL SUPPORT RAYTRACING. BOTH THE NEXT-GEN XBOX AND PLAYSTATION WILL SUPPORT HARDWARE RAYTRACING WITH RADEON NATIVELY. WE WILL BE SURE TO HAVE THE CONTENT THAT GAMERS CAN ACTUALLY USE TO RUN ON THOSE GPUS

Even if it wasn't straight up RDNA 2 it was always going to include RDNA2 features because RDNA 1 doesn't include ray tracing. I've seen some people question the validity of that quote saying they don't find it google searches but we'll see.

Those stores are selling those classics.

Who still has a working PS2 and bothers going to buy used games when they have a PS4 to play games on? I don't even know if the still carry used PS2 games in stores anymore, I just remembered gamestop stopped taking them as trade ins back in 2013 so by now it's probably all online orders only.

Didn't this guy direct Super Troopers?

Is there any official word that the ps5 will include RDNA2 or will it just have some features of it like was believed to be in the series x?

We better hope it isn't 9.2 TF's at $399..
I'm reading a lot of talk at Gaf about 13TF, which I don't believe simply because I think Sony wants that 400 dollar price tag. The only reason MS is pulling 12 is because they will price it like a premium console.

If Sony's power is in the same ballpark, I'd expect a premium price as well, and I really don't know if they want to go that way.

These people forget the PS Pro...

13.3 tf fingers crossed. Will be able to run all the PCVR games no problem. Really hoping Elite Dangerous and Project Cars 2 open up VR support to PSVR.

I still have a PS2 with PSone and PS2 games. I have two GameXchange stores near me that sale all generation console games going back to NES days. Stores are busy every time I go in them. I think you are wrong on this subject. A console that can play BC games is a good thing some people will use it.

Well wasn’t there a rumor/story about Sony being worried about pricing? This could be why, maybe.

I think this came back to the line. Apparently this site isn't trustworthy? I dunno. Sony needs to spill the beans. At least half a cup.

What has me suspect about those specs are that the only real spec we have involving PS5 is from that third party external SSD company, and the speed for their devices was 1GB/s. So seeing 5.5GB/s, would Sony go all out like that with best in class SSD speed, only to not make that speed their minimum spec allowed to run games?

You can't establish a baseline speed for devs to target and then have something able to run games that is less than 1/5th of that... or maybe you can? I dunno. If it's just regular loading, yeah, no problem but Cerny kinda made it out like it's speed was something developers would rely on.

We'll see though. It could be the case that he was overselling it's importance in that scenario, though obviously that's going to be amazing for loading levels and such if those speeds are close to typical usage speeds.

I’m assuming fake, but I post everything:

I'd say it's almost as likely the final numbers are closer to half those TFs than those. (Essentially, half is 6.65 and anything under just less than 10 would be closer to that than 13.3). I also hard doubt full bc for all generations day 1. But I suppose we'll see soon enough.

It’s interesting, but if that information is remotely accurate, I’d have to assume it’s for a Pro model, which most likely wouldn’t release for 2-3 years.

I only say this because we already have the info about the PS5’s cost to make, and because there is nothing from the data miners or tech leakers that show any testing for anything like this. If it’s real, and releasing this year, there would be something known about the scores, etc.

So here’s a hypothetical. Let’s say the base PS5 is 9.2, and the Pro’s specs are the rumor I just posted, but it’s not due out for 2-3 years. If you’re Sony, do you even acknowledge it’s existence at this point?

We don't have info on the XSX cost to make though so we don't know how the $450 to make the PS5 compares to XSX or what kinda specs can be made for $450.

I didn't say it was a bad thing I said that I didn't expect it to play all pervious PS generations of games. I had to look up gamexchange because I'd never heard of it, they have less than 70 stores nationwide and they are almost all in the south or southern parts of the Midwest. Gamestop even with all of the problems they are having and store closures still has several thousand stores nationwide and they don't stock PS1 or PS2 products anymore and haven't taken them as trades for nearly 7 years.

We really don't have the info though, we know what one person said that they believe it costs to make and they've been wrong about things before.

With Cerny's comments about releasing it at a price that "would be appealing due to it's advanced feature set" it could be taken as him saying it'd be more expensive than previous consoles because it's including things that we haven't had in console before like an SSD etc. Like most things related to PS5 though that's just speculation because they haven't told us everything yet. We'll see what happens, people are going overboard on the other forums though, I swear some of them act like addicts that need to go to rehab lol.

GameXchange is only one company. I’m sure every corner of the US has their own named used game stores in their areas.

Gamestop is only one company too and again there are thousands of them

If the games in both consoles are forwards and backwards compatible, maybe MS and Sony feel they can go the extra mile with hardware and price.

This coming generation won’t necessarily be starting over like previous generations. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing PS5/4 or X1/XSX as they’ll still have a huge user base buying content so the need to sell millions of consoles at launch won’t be so important as previous generations. Plus the Pro and One X are still capable consoles and they’ll no doubt be receiving hefty price cuts soon too.
