Project Scorpio v2.0

Loss leader worked when a true generation was 5-7 years, both companies have already stated that they aren't interested in that way of doing things anymore. They want to be able to bring out improved tech faster as other forms of electronic entertainment (phones/tablets) advance yearly. I think people need to let go of the past, they aren't doing things like that anymore and there is good reason for it. I honestly started losing interest in gaming towards the end of last gen because it went on so long. Scorpio isn't meant to be a new gen console regardless of what a random dev may say, sure MS has jumped from one gen to the next in just 4 years before but they have stated that's not the case this time. I think we all wish we could get $700-$800 worth of tech in a $400 machine but that's just not the way things are going to be done anymore.

Loss leader is important with the Scorpio because it's a chance to shift the market and brand loyalty. Whether MS releases another console in 2, 4 or 6 years has no bearing on that. It's easier to keep consumers than win new ones. Right now MS is in a position where they have to win back the market. Sony doesn't and I don't expect Sony to take a loss on their next hardware unless MS has a ton of momentum.

ANYWAYZZZZZZZZ.
Here is a cool video that I follow talks about these guys how they don't think it's going to be that crappy processor that the Xbox one, s, ps4, and pro have.

My kind likes quality gaming and spends money on quality gaming.
Years back you dumped your PS3 and then sold your Vita for a Wii U. And you had your precious Vita for less than a year. lol.

Seems about right. Wii U is more innovative than either PS3 and Vita.

I'm the type of fan they need to appease if they wanna be more successful and gain more respect from gamers.
Actually, you are the last one they need to appease. You seem to buy every piece of hardware anyway, and then suddenly dump them without cause all to save the mighty dollar. You trading in your Vita after maybe 9 months shows you don't care about quality gaming as you didn't give it a chance. Vita is actually a quality handheld that has some good mobile games, yet you bailed ship in less than a year.

And before that during the TXB days you dumped your PS3 (I think to get a Wii) before they released TLoU which is among the best games on the system. You hightailed it out of the Sony ecosystem, while admitting you still had a 360 (which makes sense since 360 is better than a PS3).

Some people only buy Xbox based devices and yet have much to say about non xbox consoles.

Agreed. But don't lump me into that. I had a PS1 and PS2.

I can say the same for others. Some people like to talk bad about Xbox One systems yet don't own one right now at this very moment.

Is that YOUR defense?

You've missed out on many of the best games of the past 5 years because you either didn't own the system or had some weird complaint (like resolution). You've really lost most of any cred here because you are wrong about things. Junior gamer seems a more appropriate title.

No I haven't.

Well you bag on games because of their Meta score and the turn around and slobber all over dogs like Destiny and Street Fighter which did just as poorly in ratings.

If you cut all the fanboy crap you would be more tolerable.

When VS type comparisons are made I use meta scores and than sales and that is the best way with opinions being subjective.

MS can more than afford to sell a $700 machine for $499/549 and if they do this they will regain much respect from me.

I actually agree with this. Microsoft has the deep coffers to sell a product at a loss INITIALLY. The grand vision probably akin to 'You may lose the battle but win the war.'

They are really the only console maker that could sustain that for some time as well. I don't quite get how people think they wouldn't or they couldn't sell a console at a loss for the short to medium term.

I mean didn't they lose over a billion on the RROD 360 fiasco and the company as a whole just shrugged it off?

Yeah and they lost money on the box at first too, that's not happening anymore.

I'd be shocked if they break even or sell Scorpio at a profit. I think they tried that with the OG Xbox One and lost the third party advantage.

I think they need that hardware advantage because they can't pump out games like Sony can.

I feel like another derail is in progress. Rollins we need you to hurry up with another random dude talking like he's the Doc from Back to the Future who just came back from playing the Scorpio...in the future.

Yeah. As you said in the Sales thread, your priority is meta first, sales second.

Go to meta and compare X1 and PS4 versions of the same game. The X1 version has a higher meta just as much as the PS4 can have a higher score back.

For example right now, FFXV has an 83 on X1 and PS4 is 81. There you go.

Exactly.

PS4 has had their share of lousy games, yet he never bags on them. Among his favourite games on X1 is KI too. He played it to death and that game only got a 73 on meta. He promotes games with high meta scores yet spend lots of his time playing games with meta scores in the 70s. lol

it's too bad he deleted all his SF5 Twitter videos. He had a bunch of them where he'd complain he couldn't get in a match due to lousy servers. Then he deleted them all the second I posted a link to his Twitch account.

I hate to revert to Star Wars but guys...maybe Red Leader was on to something
