As in, "Hey! Get your hands of my Jenitors!" ?

Stop screwing around, guys. Jenitors is just a simple misspelling of genitors, who are kind of like progenitors but weren't good enough at humping to leave a legacy.

Leaked photo of Scorpio! The power supply is in he lamp.

Yeah there's always a balance between price and tech. But I just don't see Microsoft making the same mistake that they already made once, and that Sony has made twice by going with a CPU that's a bottleneck.

Is it really a bottleneck though? I know that's a talking point on message boards but games this gen look awesome even with that "bottleneck" and being that the other improvements will be more important to how games look I would guess that the CPU will be the one that looks the weakest on paper simply due to cost and technical limitations based on it being for a console.

Yep the first wave of consumers who'll consider Scorpio aren't dumbasses. They're usually well informed and do homework on tech before committing. Their friends who they eventually coax into buying the same system will be less informed on specs. Reason Xbox One got pounded by Sony early was because these informed enthusiast gamers didn't want to spend $100 on Kinect and didn't want to spend $100 more for the less powerful console. If Xbox One wasn't compared to PS4 at launch and had more powerful hardware for $500, it would've sold at least 50% more than it did.

With enthusiasts it's more about perceived value than actual expense.

$500 won't work no matter how powerful the hardware, you are right that the hardcore fans may buy it at launch but good luck getting anyone else to buy it until it comes down to $400, you won't win any potential converts over at $500 either.

You could win those who want a Ultra HD BR player that/if it supports Dolby Vision some of the same folk who purchased PS3's and XBOS.

How many of those people are out there? at that price most sales will come from hardcore xbox fans, a group that MS hasn't grown this generation.

I dunno if we take much of the PS3 fans who bought it for a BR player and some of the XBOS people who wanted a UHDBR player.... Id say it was pretty significant.

I'm really excited about some of the stuff I've seen with this console. To me, I'm betting we get a vastly superior consoles over ps4 pro, and backwards compatibility that improves all games even further than Xb1 slim. I'm thinking with what they did with slim, you can see slight performance gains over stock xb1, but with scorpio we get a massive increase in power and with everything I've read, it seems increased performance tied to backward compatibility will be a huge direction for them. Which is much better than what sony has done with ps4 pro here, only certain games benefit.

Do you have a link saying all old games/BC will get increased performance?
Cause that would be huge for me.

That really isn't saying a lot to me. PS4 is super dated tech, and the pro, while much better isn't even decent rig.
Pro is better than a decent rig and its quality is more satisfying overall that what any PC rig could offer me.
Problem is that not every game is getting the enhancements it can offer(well not all old titles)

When I mean rig I mean a decent gaming PC, the cpu being very handicapped and the gpu being what, average?

There's a ton of small stuff about it, hints from Phil and developers on GAF and reddit, but no confirmation of course. I would expect them to really punch sony in the gut here because they're very lackluster in that department.

We don't know how many people bought the X1S for UHD, hell there aren't even that many movies out in that format yet and someone who wanted a true high end player would have went for something more expensive and wasn't missing the features the One S is. As far as the PS3 that was when blu ray was new and if I remember correctly they didn't exactly light the world on fire with sales until after the price came down.

XBO S outsold PS4 in NA I think 3 months straight and I think the UHDBR player had much to do with it

They are adding Atmos. I don't even think Dolby Vision is available on UHD Blu-ray yet, unless it just came out. They could just as easily add it to the software if there was enough demand. That means it would also be available on the S. Not really a huge feat, imo.

Not that easy as it has to have the hardware already.

True but you have a unit that has a UHDDVD drive and the other one don't for the same price that alone moves some units.
Also, people have more 4k then you think. Bestbuy has so many of them and gets returned because there is no 4k content. That is not the case anymore and also you have HDR which it checks all their boxes with a very good price and you can see why it sold well.
