I also read an article that they were talking about project Scorpio and not once they mention Texas.

I get that. I lived in Colorado for about eighteen years. Beautiful place. I used have a house out there. I've still got family there. All these Texas people. I lived in Texas for two years. All over in the metroplex and out west. Loved the people, but I.would miss the mountains too much to ever go back.
Yeah, Huston and Dallas are pretty humid. It's super dry where I a,, and San Antonio isn't bad at all.I grew up in NW Houston. Graduate of TAMU. Lived in Carollton for a bit with a lady. Left after graduation and only come back Christmas time to see the family who are still roasting there. Love the state, love the stuff, can't bear the humidity again. Much easier when I was young but now I sweat my azz off everytime I visit and that is in December even!
Unfortunately, the only.place that has any mountains in Texas is the El Paso area. I think Mt Guadalupe is about 8k feet, but I will pass on that. I lived for a little bit in Fort Stockton down by Odessa and Midland, and I will pass on all the alkaline soil, the pump jacks, the mesquite bushes and the almost complete lack.of green vegetation. The hills area down in the San Antonio area isn't too bad and the north east corner up by Texarkana can be very pretty in the spring. But I love the fact that I can drive 10 minutes east of my house and I can be 100% alone in the mountains, it's the best. Lots of fun areas to shoot up there tooI get that. Texas is so big an varied, I bet you could find an acceptably mountainous area. I couldn't imagine living in Dallas/Fort Worth though. Lots of stuff to do, but waaay too big for my tastes. At least I don't have to pay tolls, lol.
What area you in? Near the Springs? Manitou? Further up in the mountains like Gunnison? Fort Collins? ... or is it Boulder?Unfortunately, the only.place that has any mountains in Texas is the El Paso area. I think Mt Guadalupe is about 8k feet, but I will pass on that. Always working on that, but the sources have been quiet lately. One of them has disappeared completely. Hmmm. And apparently the actual CPU/GPU specs are being kept super quiet by MS. No one can seem to get a hold of them, and I wonder if we will ever get exact numbers on them....?
That being said, I wonder if maybe they'll give a free month (3 months) of MS Game Pass with Scorpio...?
As far as pricing, $399 and $499 seem to be the most likely options. Possibly 2 SKUs, one bare bones, one with a controller and bigger internal HD.
Definitely will have a 4K BR player, 4K video recording, and internal power supply.
Currently sounds like specs have been bumped slightly, to mid-6 TF. But in a closed, focused system, with full DX12 support, it sounds like it's going to perform as if it's much more.
That's all the rehash I have for now. But like I said, it's always a work-in-progress.
I love the option of a bare bones system. Already have an Elite controller and I'd rather dedicate that xtra 100 for a big external hard drive. With 4K games will probably need at least 4TB.
Actually who am I kidding. Between a 4K TV, wall mount, external hard drive new shelves and potentially a new monitor, I'll be dropping 2k on the setup this year.
Will still be a nice consideration going forward to have options of bare boned upgrades.
I asked him that because I'm in Colorado...He said he's in Utah. I love CO, but the only 2 mountainous places in the US I've been that I think are more beautiful are Alaska and Utah. What area you in? Near the Springs? Manitou? Further up in the mountains like Gunnison? Fort Collins? ... or is it Boulder?
I'm actually in Harrisville Utah right now and have also lived in North Ogden. When I lived in North Ogden, I was less than a 10 minute walk away from the mountains. I love going to Bear lake and the Uintah's. The Moab area down south is super pretty and everyone loves places like Zions National Park, Cedar breaks, Arches, and Bryce Canyon. Not many places can beat Utah if you like the outdoors. What area you in? Near the Springs? Manitou? Further up in the mountains like Gunnison? Fort Collins? ... or is it Boulder?
I'm in Utah. Been all over the west and it's still.my favorite place to live
Not trying to crap on you guys nut you have went 5 pages about Texas and nothing with Scorpio. You know you can make a private conversation and carry on THERE.
It wouldn't pass me.I heard Scorpio is releasing first in Texas.
Nice! My wife loves Peach daysI'm from Utah, moved to TX from there. I grew up in Brigham, really near North Ogden, but lived in Utah County for the last 15 yrs or more.
Sorry for derailment. Blame the Texans. Not trying to crap on you guys nut you have went 5 pages about Texas and nothing with Scorpio. You know you can make a private conversation and carry on THERE.

Same here. I would pretty astonished to find anything less than a Zen based CPU at this point.
Now I believe the Durango design team certainly would have continued with Jaguars and simply added a few more CUs for the GPU. They focused a little to heavily on platform parity and didn't bother to establish a performance metric for HD gaming. In the beginning I wanted to give MS the benefit of the doubt because some of the smartest people in technology work right within the Xbox Division. But how they necessitated that huge block of Esram (which the CPU doesn't have access to) that essentially cut their GPU/ROPS in half and blunted a significant portion of potential bandwidth is still puzzling to me. But even people working on Project Durango admitted that there were far more MBAs than actual engineers and game developers in the design room. And that's pretty sad.
