I guess that's as close to it as we can get, eh?
I think so. :-)
In any case, regardless of statistical semantics, PS4 won November. Bottom line. X1 did great too. The biggest winner in November was gamers.

No idea who is worse in this thread. The xbox fans who can't admit so far it looks like PS4 is going to outsell One or the Sony fan telling them the same f***ing thing 900 times as if this info is earth shattering or is going to change their tune.
Both systems will sell enough to have a long healthy life. 360 sold more then PS3 for years but PS3 still sold a lot and had great games this time looks like PS4 may have switched it around and the same thing will happen as last time but in reverse. both systems will get many f***ing games and be healthy in the market.
I will say when I want shopping this past weekend I saw no PS4's but did see Ones on the shelf. I'm in Canada by the way.
I won't argue with who's worse, I know I'm pretty bad...but last I checked, PS3 sold about the same as 360, with a year less out on the market.

That isn't what we are all seeing.By almost every metric PS4 has more interest and demand, that should translate to more long term sales as supply issues lessen. I expect PS4 to get a global sales lead and pull ahead.
It's only relevant to "who sold the fastest", if you're specifically referring to fastest peak-sales pace.
Xbox One was the fastest selling console (on average) in November.
So there you have it, looks like we've found our common ground.
When the measure you're using counts a console sold for Sony as 1/16th of a console per day and one sold for MS as 1/9th of a console per day, that's simply an inaccurate comparison.
If you want to substantiate the fastest selling console, you need to pick a number of days from launch and see how many consoles were sold by each company in that number of days. My best guess is that from every value from 1 to whatever day we're on now for the XBox (32?), Sony has sold more in the same number of days. That means they're selling faster. To claim otherwise is simply spinning the numbers to represent something that is entirely counter to reality.
I personally think anyone being remotely reasonable would admit that while technically true, it was a dumb way to spin sales.
It will never end.LOL.. still going back and forth about MS's comment about "fastest selling." I personally think anyone being remotely reasonable would admit that while technically true, it was a dumb way to spin sales. Any time you have to argue the technicality of your statement, you are spinning something in a way that is going to make you look worse than if you just left it be. Sony had a much faster selling initial launch and sold more overall, MS should have eaten their 2nd place and just praised how well the generation is beginning.
Can't wait for December NPD's so we can move past this nonsense.
This is false. You do not "need" to have the same number of days in order for Major Nelson's statement to be true, especially when you're referring to monthly sales where the number of days where each console was available were not the same.
It's very simple. X1 was available for 9 days in November. PS4 was available for 16. X1 sold .9 mil, PS4 sold 1.1 mil.
X1 wins for average number of consoles sold per day in November. Bottom line.
Does it matter much? Well no, of course not... To bring back the "runner analogy", we're barely 1%-2% through a marathon... And both are selling close enough that who sold more or who sold "faster" doesn't really matter too much at this point... What does matter is that both are selling very well. If there was a bigger discrepency in sales, that might matter - but that's not what we're seeing.

Too bad people can't reasonably talk about sales without flynn and trolls blasting the thread with worthless spin, or people insulting me because they don't understand what "supply constrained" means.
I imagine the Playstation will be trailing in sales this gen like it did last gen. Well, it obviously beats the Wii-U though.
