price disadvantage is a killer, but I doubt ms will make that mistake again. I'm expecting both to be $500.
Digital sales and BC will be a big deal because you can't trade games in anymore if you've gone digital, in the past many people (me included) would just trade everything in towards the new console but if you've gone digital that's out the window and it will be something that keeps people from jumping ship because they feel more invested in the ecosystem. With Sony having so much success with their first party lineup over the past few years it's going to be hard to get people to say "Oh I'll just get rid of Horizon, God of war, Spider-Man, TLOU2 etc to go play Halo and Gears" and while I know you said they needed new exclusives it's hard to see that happening anytime soon when they've gone a whole gen without creating a new flagship series.
I'll say again, most people don't finish games .Trying to make out these people care about a digital library just doesn't work.Sure, the core community will be that way, but the general masses just aren't going to care.
You may be right about the exclusives. Right now it is hard to say what the new studios can do and when they mightcome .
Saying Xbox only has Gears and Halo is just as disingenuous as say PS only has Gran Turismo and Killzone.
If I could only buy one it would be the PS5 because of my PS4 library, friend list and PS Ecosystem.
Besides hardcore PS gamers I hear this from casuals who are worried about losing all of the above.
