Halo 4 was the best Halo game out of the series. 343 nailed it and I bet they have another AAA game in Halo 5.
Yes that's your opinion,But in my eyes halo 3 was the best in the series.Everything was balanced to perfection, campaign, multiplayer, forge, etc

Yet the one thing that I hate in multiplayer in halo 4 is starting weapons. You should be only given assault rifle and pistol.

Everybody seems to have their favorite Halo title in the series, although for most it seems that either ODST or Reach were the low points. In all fairness though, I've always enjoyed the campaign of each title and probably will continue to enjoy them. When it comes to their multiplayer, I've always grown tired of them after about 2 months of playtime, they're just kind of random knee-jerk multiplayer games that are fun for a while but eventually lose their appeal. After a couple of months, I have always seemed to move on to something more compelling for multiplayer and never really looked back.

Why would they not just support both consoles?
They are on PC as well no?

O

Odst campaign was bad for me.I just didn't like the context of the storyline(Didn't like it because it made no sense to me! And I the thing is reach was a polished story line, like every second of that one solo playthrough"

Hello mates. Hope all is well with everyone. With all the bickering back and forth about power of next gen consoles I thought I'd create a thread to give reasons as to why we hope our preferred console will be the most powerful next gen and what we hope to see as a result of that power. Please keep in mind that I am not creating a thread to add more fuel to the fire but to give credence and substance towards our individual opinions.

Yet, my hope is that we all can give examples of what we hope to see happen as it's come to my attention that so many members bark about power but give no reason as to why we need to have this power. Hope this makes sense.

So with that in mind, I'll go first:

With the added power of the next gen consoles and the high probability that game creation will take a more Hollywood approach, my wish is to see A list actors likenesses, voice and performances cross over into the digital gaming industry. For example; imagine Idris Elba as a character or supporting character in a new Gears of War game. Or Milla Jovovich as Cortana in the new Halo 5.

With the power of these new consoles and considering how accurate digital characters will be able to reflect their human counter parts and their individual performances, this can propel gaming experiences to new heights of immersion and lend to better storytelling in games.

Since day one, I have been very excited about the possibilities of bigger open worlds, with a lot of people populating them. The biggest problem with many games today is that you don't see a lot of people IN the environment to save on performance. If you do have quite a few people.. textures and performance tends to struggle. I'm sorry.. going to use GTA as an example here.. I'm not a big fan of the game, but I respect it. But I have noticed that even though the game is fun for most people, it lacks (IMO) in the graphics department because of all the NPC's that populate the game.

When I saw the demo of DR3 with the sheer amount of zombies... I was like OHH YEAH! I also noticed on the Witcher demo that it shows a town and there are just GOBS of people in the environment. I am actually VERY excited about the use of the Cloud and what it brings to the table, and as a multiplayer fan... how can I NOT be excited about dedicated servers! (something that has been sorely overlooked and downplayed as of lately by those "other guys").

I just don't see how anyone that calls themselves a tech junky isn't interested in what the the new Kinect is capable of doing.. and I am talking more along the lines of entertainment system navigation, gestures, etc.

Possibly related: When there's a "cult classic" I wonder, was its failure to get a large audience poor timing/marketing/etc, or was it simply bad and has a small bunch of loud fans?

The reason is the first one you gave more or less :) a great game which unfortunately didn't have a great economic success

The one game that blew me away at the launch of last gen was Oblivion. The sheer number of NPCs, the draw distance, etc. It was quite a spectacle at the time. Only PC gamers had seen this stuff before. I really wish there was something on this level ready for launch this time. I want seamless room entering in a large environment! I wish I hadn't even read that Shenmue comment. Makes me sad.

Halo 5 is said to be the darkest, grittiest, biggest of all the Halos, and there are rumors of a Metroid Prime-esque, free world element for the campaign. If they do this, and have a MP similar to Halo 3= Perfection.
Whoa...where did you hear these rumors?

Few weeks after E3. It was said that Halo 5 would have an open world element much like Metroid Prime where the Chief goes around the galaxy looking for Forerunner artifacts and gets stronger with each artifact. If it weren't for the fact that the One is a totally new beast for these guys I wouldn't believe. That said, I don't know if they've debunked it or not.

Am I the only one blown away by the fact that I can shoot a hole in the whole in DR3, drive around town, go back, and find the hole in the wall still? It was something that always peeved me this gen. They say Watch Dogs will be more dynamic on Xbox One, does that mean that I can see similar physics?

Seamless room entering is a good one, being able to transfer from the open world to the interior of a building without a loading screen would be cool....in that case cut down on loading screen times, I was watching a friend play fallout new Vegas on PC, and what I enjoyed more then the higher resolution was that fact that his loading screens were 2-3 seconds as opposed to 10-12 on the 360.

Because they use only one controller style, evens things out I guess. who knows lol
Consistency is a huge deal in a game where things move so fast you have to rely on instinct. A slight change in the controller can throw people off enough to make a relatively huge difference. It's also why even non-professionals tend to play only one game for stretches at a time rather than switch back and forth between them. If I'm playing Halo after playing a lot of Battlefield and I instinctively pull the left trigger to go into shoulder-fire mode and throw a grenade, that can be a problem. :)

Both consoles will put out pretty games. And in turn, it seems like with the release of these new consoles, PC has finally been unshackeld as well.

I'm more excited for the future of PC visuals. But I love the console franchises.

One thing I'm seeing already in which I grew increasingly annoyed by was characters and environments looking like plastic cut outs. Next gen is already showing that small disturbance is over. I'm so friggin' glad. I don't know how much longer I could bare looking at another character that looked like something out of a wax museum with a pulse. Just terrible...

I hope to see more persistent online universes coming to next generation. I'd love to see something along the lines of Eve online or maybe a console version of Star Citizen.

I am more interested in what next gen can offer, other than better visual actually.

On a side note, I think we should combine all power & compaision of power into a single thread. I am sure in the days leading to teh console launch, we will hear many story, of people who know people who know people from developer that made certain cliams.

I'm excited for the hopes of no more screen tearing. When I step out my door in the morning and look around the sky doesn't tear itself in pieces, neither should my game worlds...
