Agreed. :)

I think if I had to choose Project Spark today or LBP on PS4, I'd probably go with LBP since I don't have to invest in figuring out how to create experiences, there's just built-in gameplay experiences with a tried and true platformer element to them...

...but that doesn't change the fact that this holiday, Sony's high-grade titles don't stack up against Microsoft's. This is another holiday with the best lineup of high-grade gaming (since last year MS beat Sony on the exclusive, high-grade content as well) on Microsoft's console.

Eh, that's a matter of opinion. You're entitled to think that way but in my opinion, it's a wash so I guess we just have to agree to disagree. ;)

Project Spark seems to be more of a game creator than the standard game so it's not really relevant to the discussion at hand. Again, Sunset Overdrive seems fun but IMO, none of MS exclusives coming out this year will have a very significant effect on attracting a huge amount of consumers over so that's why I think it's a wash since neither have the big guns.

Because it's a game creator and not a game. I'm not gonna pay to make games!!!

Exactly. It's called "Project Spark" because the whole thing is an experiment; "are there gamers out there who really, really want to build games... but have felt they don't have the tools?" - we'll find out.

Definitely (respectfully) agree to disagree.

I think this is true of Sony's exclusive offerings this holiday, but not MS's. I think Drive Club is more of a hole-filling title (no exclusive racers on PS4 yet) than a system seller, and TLOU might sell a few, but I don't know about large amounts.

Contrast that with the Halo collection, and it's not even close. I've heard, read, and seen *SO* many people (albeit anecdotally) who've said that the Halo collection is enough to sway them to buy an Xone. On Gaf you can see scores of gamers all saying the same thing. When I tell friends and family, they can't believe all of that content is in one place, on a single disk, with 60fps across the board, and 1080p across the board - not to mention the fully remastered Halo 2 game... I definitely think that collection will move *MANY* systems... in fact, that one game may move more consoles than any single game in the last few years. It's just so much content, so well devised, and at such an affordable/reasonable price, Halo fans and non-Halo fans alike are all talking about it. I'll go as far as to say it's the best remastered collection ever done in videogames... I mean seriously, you've got blanket improvements across the whole suite (1080p, 60fps, dedicated servers in the cloud, so you get minimal regional latency, and maximal auto-scaling of VM's that dynamically scale with load/concurrency), you've got the two OG Xbox title's completely remastered, you've got 100% authentic/original MP from all different versions, and at any time, with one click of a button, you can restore the original visuals.

It really is the best remastered collection in gaming history. I can't think of anything else that even comes close, much less beats it.

So yeah, that will sell systems. It's huge.

Personally I can see why people wanted more exclusives, they probably could have revealed gameplay of Bloodborne but I think a lot is being saved for Gamescom and TGS this year. Shu Yoshida has already said new games will be announced at these conferences and I think Sony is going to end strongly to this year announcing GG's new I.P or MM's new game at Gamescom alongside a new Sony Japan game at TSG or maybe TLG (sigh...).

Yeah, I guess we'll see how much of an impact Halo Collection will have. With the announcement of a white PS4, I'm sure an announcement of a white X1 is coming. It would be a big announcement come Fall 2014 to combo it with this collection.

PS4 exclusives in 2014 (may also be coming to PS3 or Vita):
The Last of Us Remastered
Infamous: First Light
Drive Club
LittleBigPlanet 3
Samurai Warriors 4
Guilty Gear Xrd
Natural Doctrine

PS4 exclusive indies in 2014 (may also be coming to PS3 or Vita):
Hohokum
Helldivers
Pavilion
Velocity 2X
Guns Up!
Resogun: Heroes (DLC)
Galak-Z: The Dimensional
N++

Seems like a decent lineup for a console's first year.

About half of PS4's audience never owned a PS3 according to Sony execs. Remakes could sell very well to this new audience plus the established PS3 to PS4 base.

Strong conference, I like sony's direction a lot, I've watched it twice now and they are still bringing it! The only issue is I don't have faith in a single release date in any exclusive they have, and those are in 2015+ already. Winter is coming.
