About to delete some posts. If you guys have any beef, take it to PM.

I don't remember seeing Ki gameplay at the MS show. Unless it was the preshow or after show? definitely not during the show. Regardless, How does gameplay of a fighting game that is already released even count? same for Halo. I would hope there was gameplay of games that are older as dirt at this point. Same with Project Spark, the game is in beta and it's been at how many E3's so far? why should MS get credit for showing gameplay of it AGAIN at ANOTHER E3? lol I dunno man it just seems a bit iffy to me.
As a huge fan of Killer Instinct(a game that wasn't shown on stage) The footage I saw on my own of Season pass 2 looks like ass.

lol I don't think I saw much of it. I did see a small clip of TJ and it didn't look very smooth. Tbh I think Ki got screwed by losing the original devs. Can't be good. I was actually really hoping for a Tekken or DOA/Soul Calibur announcement. =(

Haven't played a Mortal Combat in YEARS but I guess I will have to give it a shot now.

It/he looked like ass... I might jump off the series now thats how bad it looked.

I am looking 4ward to SSF4 Ultra(pc),MKX and MAYBE Injustice 2

Im in agreement on TJ. Looked really uninspired.

Hopefully Im wrong.

Cant wait for MK X

TBH I was glad that MK9 died out. Me and my homies played that damn game for almost two years straight. It got to the point where the really dedicated friends learned how to do "reset" combos and it was game over for us normal folks from then onwards (You get hit once, and you're pretty much dead). I was able to hold my own but i can't be arsed learning how to do reset combos.

I liked Sony's showings. Especially Bloodborne and No Man's Sky made for a great conference. But this is the 22nd year in a row we've seen The Last Guardian MIA. So a B+ is all they deserve.

lol, So basically, there is nothing else, got it. I'd say they are pretty much a toss up. Both have just as high grade exclusives, just not a lot of them coming out this year.

Not really.

Drive Club is a new franchise. Looks good, but we'll see if it's as good as Horizon 2. I'd say that one's probably a toss up.

TLOU vs Halo Collection - no comparison. Halo blows it away. Far more content, far more gameplay, dedicated servers, and all at a price that's rock solid. One is clearly more value than the other here, and if anyone wants to deny that, all it does is expose their bias.

Finally, Sunset Overdrive has no answer from Sony.

FH2 = DC
TLOU < Halo MC Collection
:nothing: < Sunset Overdrive

That's 2 vs 3. Clear victor... not to mention, since one from each of those is a remake, but the Microsoft remake utterly destroys TLOU in terms of value, replay-ability, sheer content, etc. - it's really pretty clear. Microsoft's got a better holiday for high grade exclusives.

Edit: It reminds me of launch:

Killzone = Ryse
:nothing: < Forza 5
:nothing: < Dead Rising 3

At least Sony's closer this holiday to MS by having two high-grade exclsives... of course, one of them should have launched a year prior, and the other is just a remake...

Yeah, MS wins two holidays in a row for most high-grade holiday titles.

Halo collection does have more value but I see the collection as more for halo fans since the other 3 games are not remastered just running on their own engine.

MS has no reply to LBP3 as well if you put it that way. So pretty much a washout like I said.

DriveClub will do well with a F2P version on top of sales (no other exclusive racer on the PS platform yet), along with it's social features and arcade race style. I think it will do extremely well.

Wouldn't that be Project Spark?

Isn't that out right now? Project Spark seems similar but not really the same type of game. How's the impressions so far for the game? Haven't heard much excitement for the title in a while.

LBP isn't a high grade experience, and you could certainly argue that Project Spark is comparable. So no, not a wash.

It's a beta right now... and it's FAR bigger/superior to LBP in terms of scope. Cross platform, SmartGlass integration, build anything you want... heck, you could probably BUILD LBP inside of Project Spark...

So yeah, LBP in no way makes this holiday a "wash" for Sony. They still lose, in terms of high-grade experiences.

I don't know... I've read a surprisingly high volume of gamers who haven't traditionally been Halo fans, but they want to jump in on this, since it's all the primary Halo experiences all in one place for such a good price... and you're getting the full make-over for Halo 2, you're getting the fully remastered Halo 1 anniversary, and you're also getting dedicated servers via the cloud... so not only is what you're seeing substantially improved over the originals, but the gameplay itself is massively improved.

In any case, sounds like we agree that the Halo collection is a better value than TLOU, so I won't press this further.

I'm not a Halo fan, but I'm getting it. The content and 60 fps is enough for me to join. I don't even care about SP, but the MP content is abnormally huge for a remake game.

That's because no one really wants to play Unity light. It's one of those things that is better in concept than to actually play.

Well, right now it's in Beta because it's not really a "game", it's a tool to MAKE games... and some people have actually made some really interesting experiences. The hope is that some creators out there who are passionate creators (but haven't been able to build something due to lack of being able to program, or provide raw art assets themselves) will make interesting experiences.

This is why I didn't bring up either game because while LBP has more traditional 'gaming' elements out of the box, there's no doubt Project Spark is more flexible as a creative tool... and who knows what will or will not come from either end of those spectrums.

What we do know is that neither of them are high-grade gaming experiences (and therefore not really relevant to my points). They're lower grade than Drive Club, FH2, TLOU, Halo, etc.

LBP is pretty big for Sony although not really an AAA title. Sackboy has become an iconic figure for the Playstation.

Yet, I haven't heard much excitement from people who've tried it or articles saying if it's good or not, hm. I think it's safe to say LBP is a bigger title and will be more popular.

That's good to know. I'm sure it'll sell well.

I think Project Spark will be a digital only title, and will be free. Needless to say, MS will never report as to the number of consumer using the product. Now that Major Nelson no longer reports Xbox Live stats, we may never know.

I'm shocked that another thread that is suppose to be about one company and console has turned into a vs thread again.

Agreed, and agreed.

Agreed. :)

I think if I had to choose Project Spark today or LBP on PS4, I'd probably go with LBP since I don't have to invest in figuring out how to create experiences, there's just built-in gameplay experiences with a tried and true platformer element to them...

...but that doesn't change the fact that this holiday, Sony's high-grade titles don't stack up against Microsoft's. This is another holiday with the best lineup of high-grade gaming (since last year MS beat Sony on the exclusive, high-grade content as well) on Microsoft's console.

Will it? That's surprising. I wonder what's the reason? Not confident enough it could sell or it some sort of support for the fans type of thing.

Because it's a game creator and not a game. I'm not gonna pay to make games!!!

The point of the thread is to "RATE" Sony's E3 conference. You cannot RATE something well in a vacuum; it's natural to look at the conference through a competitive lens, and consider how it faired in relation to the competition.

For example, if MS and Nintendo came out and talked about sales numbers, showed no games, and ended in 10 minutes - I'd say that Sony knocked it out of the park COMPARED to the others... but since that's not what happened, it really seems like Sony's conference was on par with MS's for the most part... but the high-grade exclusives coming out this holiday just aren't as impressive on Sony's machine, therefore, that's a notch against their conference (in my eyes).

So it's natural, and I think even *better* to bring in competitive standings when talking about rating a conference like this.
