Reports of PS4 hardware issues.

You bought a $400 console and it wobbles. And you're actually OKAY with that? LMFAO

While i think it likely doesn't wobble when you play it- meaning i assume the majority of the weight is between the area with cushions. I do think its somewhat embarrassing for Sony for something that would have been so cheap to correct.

I'm okay with it since it's easily fixable. I was afraid the entire case was warped. That would not be okay. I can't imagine taking the console back because of being too lazy to fix something so simple.

The wobble wont make or break the console either way. Although, you gotta admit it is a design flaw. Mine will be sitting flat either on the stand next to my flat screen, or the second level shelving just beneath it. I won't even care from that point. I'm not going to be moving it around.

Kinda trollish question, brah.

I don't think anyone likes it. It's something that can be easily fixed, however.

On the other hand...

People are buying a $500 console that is underpowered and from a company that has flip-flopped on it's own launch plans. And they're actually OK with that.

The fix is easy enough, but shipping something out that shows poor quality by oversight puts the thought in one's mind "if they didn't care enough to make it sit flat then what hidden problems may be inside?".

It's just MOAR FLOPZ!!!111

I'll say it's a curious design, but hardly anything of any significance.

The price you pay for being early beta testers. Plz investigate all the kinks thoroughly and report them to sony, so that when i get the ps4 next year i get an ironed out product.

Wow....o_O Thats a little extreme isnt it mate. You can't say that you would rather not have to make a physical adjustment to a brand new product than to do so. The 8 posted notes phase shouldn't kick in until at least 2 years from the date of purchase. I'm not worried about it personally but you gotta think....

Actually, I don't think it's a design flaw and I'll tell you why. You have to push down on it with moderate force to get it to wobble. They made it this way as a design choice so when stood upright it would look more elegant. And the system is not that uneven that's it's going to mess with the disc tray which is a floating design...COME ON!

I actually just looked at the photos of the bottom of the PS4 more closely and it's not a big deal. It's a cantilevered design choice...look it up.

This is the newest troll fodder for fanboys.

The number and placement of those feet seem odd from a design standpoint, why not 4 with one in each corner? Why 2 2/3's of the way up and one centered at the bottom?

Not at all. Its not a deal breaker for me at least. I'm still getting mine with Naughty Dog leading the charge. I would just rather NOT use posted notes to fix something Sony should've been a bit more mindful of is all. I'm a writer. I love posted noted goddamnit!

Kotaku confirms wobble, but at least it appears the console itself is level, which relieves my earlier fears that the unit itself might not be level.

Here's a good video explaining the wobble:

So... the actual console isn't sitting flat and pressing down on it actual levels it out? wow. A bit of an oversight tbh.

Maybe Sony could market this as the Gangta-Lean model?

He should actually be putting the post-it notes on the other side. ;)

The problem seems to be that the legs on the right side are shorter than the ones in the middle. Or thats how it appears anyways.

ATTENTION small minded people of the web...lol (Not you guys)

They're is nothing wrong with the design. What's wrong is peoples perception of the design. Don't push down on the corner of the PS4 and you'll never notice it. It's level UNTIL you push down on one corner.

And I don't need anyone, a video, or someones hands-on opinion to know this. It's as plain as day to those who have experience.

What if I enjoy pushing down on my console?

Wasn't this thread closed already...lol

I would be more worried about the reports that the hdmi port is broken.

I've resisted posting this but I've decided it's funny.

This isn't a problem, it's just proof that Cerny balanced the console for 14 post-it notes on one side, 4 on the other. :hehe: I'm fairly certain that 14+4 was an issue of some minor contention betwixt some folk on this fine forum.

I thought the flip flop was generally considered a good thing?

That is quite possibly the greatest troll video ever made.

People are experiencing issues for turning off their PS4 while it's updating, and there might be HDD partitioning errors with some.
Here's a supposed fix until they probably patch it: https://twitter.com/BradWardFGN/status/400816699999416320
Haven't heard of any PS4s actually being DOA or really bricking, which is amazing (in these instant social media days.)
