Reports of XBox One hardware issues

Well in that case I am having serious problems! My er um, thingie membobulator isn't working properly.

Well I got an even bigger issue. I just can't seem to put the controller down, I have to keep playing! It's that I have a girlfriend that takes the controller out of my hand otherwise I would be faking a very heavy injury so I have to call in sick to work and play all day long.

I guess that's a problem that deserves a compensation.

LOL! Yes this seems to be a lot of my friends back home. They also got a PS4, but haven't stopped messing with the XBOX ONE since they opened the box. I'll get my taste of both systems soon enough.

For some reason "Xbox On," doesn't work. "Xbox Off," does.

Do you have your power settings set to energy saver mode? I've had to swap to that a couple of times so I could hard shutdown and restart to get the TV app to launch.

My locale GameStop employees, as I was telling them how I was enjoying my XB1, informed me that there was a 33% failure rate on the new machine, the highest ever. When I questioned them, they said there was a story on IGN about it 2 days ago.

Sigh...

what is the standard warranty, is it one year through Microsoft? I never buy extended warranties but I am tempted with this one, ill probably pass as long as i am covered for a year with a standard manufacturer warranty

Mine says it expires February 16, 2015

Sometimes the system will lock up and even if you turn it off and then on the screen will still be locked. A power cycle fixes this.

I haven't had too many issues, sometimes "Xbox On" doesn't power on the entire system like it should though.

Console seems to be fine, but my controller was broken -- no rumble and loses its connection.

When I registered the console on the myservice.xbox.com site it lists it under my xbox one console on the devices page
I will have to do this, just stinks i need to unplug everything to find the serial number most likely. thanks for the heads up

Mine is Feb 2015 as well which seems like a long time. No complaints.

I did however order a replacement xbox today because of my controller issues. Hoping for a box with no loud powersupply, loud fan, broken BRdrive or controller issues! o_O

To anyone having issues with games/apps not wanting to load, I had something similar happening on mine. Whenever I would come back and "wake up" the xbox and try to start a game, it would show the loading screen but then "crash" back out to the home screen. I couldn't play any of my games, unless I power cycled the xbox, but this didn't keep it from happening again the next time I would come back.

What I did that seems to have worked for me so far is this. If you go to "Settings" and then to the "Power & start up" option, you will see an option to set it to either "Instant-on" or "Energy Saver". Underneath "Instant-on" there are several boxes which should be checked. I don't remember the exact wording for the last option, something like "Quick resume gameplay (BETA)" or something. On my console, this box was not checked and I selected it so that it was checked. After that, I could get all my games to load and it has worked fine ever since, no more power cycling.

I hope that helps. Good luck.

My XB1 is running great but the fan in the power brick is really loud. Even when the system is on standby I can still hear the fan running from 25ft away

Does anybody else have an issue with the drive not seeing their games? Just this week I insert a disk and it can't read it. It seems to happen mainly if I switch games. Sometimes I have to reboot the system, sometimes I can just keep trying and it will read the disk. Any ideas?

I also am having weird fiddly problems. Just today after playing BF4 for about 6 hours straight, I went to watch Hulu and it locked up. I rebooted it and that fixed the problem. Still fiddly though.

Something is wrong then. I can't even hear the fan in the power brick when I stand next to it.

Thanks for letting me know that your power supply is quite. I am going to contact Microsoft about getting a replacement one. If you do a search on the web, there are some other people complaining of this problem as well

Mine has a distinct "whine" to it... I chatted with online rep yesterday and they're sending a new power brick...

I also finally caved and got the extended warranty ($69.99 for an additional 2 years)... who knows what will happen - but at $35/year for a full replacement - that's hard to beat...

Now my warranty extends thru Feb 8, 2017.

Are they sending an advanced replacement? I don't want to wait two weeks for a power brick with exact same issue. Which is what others is having happen.

Can you guys listen to this and tell me if it's normal? Probably have to turn it up to hear the clicking or whatever it is. Can't describe it to well

not sure... Ordered it yesterday.. Can post when I receive it...

I have the power brick in my credenza currently... So don't really notice the sound.

but normally have the power brick hiding under the credenza when its not making the sound..

I don't mind waiting on it though...
