Official Thread Rise of the Tomb Raider

Both are great but RotTR is better IMO. This coming from somebody that really liked the reboot....a lot.

I think i'll get Rise of the Tomb Raider sometime next month. End 2015 with a bang.
You seriously need to play this game as soon as possible TD. It's that good. My wife doesnt even bother me while playing it because she knows if I'm playing this much, it must be good. Not typical behavior for me.

I was thinking about introducing my wife to Tomb Raider, but I didnt want to get "that look." You know, that look like....

Probably doing the same thing, Christmas hopefully. As long as I'm done with Fallout 4 by then...

Having finished it, it is easily in my top 3 of the year. It is more of the same though, which is in no way bad. Hopefully part 3 in this reboot is more of an evolution. For a reference that Sony fans would get it is like going from UC two to three, I was hoping for that jump like from UC one to two.
It had quite a few of the beats as the first game, but bigger.

Not yet finished here but I think they have done a marvelous job with the story thus far. Characters are more developed than the reboot and you gain a lot by listening to all the tapes you come across. The voice acting is top notch throughout as well.

That's funny cuz I want to bang Lara...in the butt, in the mouth, in the va jay jay.

How does your wife feel about that? I can't imagine having a girl and her walking in on me playing Tomb Raider. I drool every time at the sight of dat ass. Stay single, stay fappin.

i finished it last night, really enjyoed it. now i have to explore every inch of this world.
and i liked the epilogue cutscene at the beginning of "continue playing".

I will be purchasing this in the future. It is good to read that the game is great. I hope it sells well.

I hate listening to them. I'm too impatient to see more of the game world to waste time listening to those audio tapes. I can tolerate listening to Lara talking while inspecting relics, but that's about it.

No doubt most people are like you and skip them. I love them. Oftentimes the tones and inflections of the voice actors provide a whole different meaning to what it written. Slowing down the pace for me and looking thoroughly throughout each level has broadened the story and allows me to savor every part of this great game. To each their own, it's nice that there is all that extra for those who desire and skippable for those who want to buzz through it.

I am showing 51% complete but I think the story is nearing the end, could be wrong. I have easily put in 20 hours and just last night I saw a new thing flashing on the main menu screen and saw I hade earned 5 card packs to open. I had no clue they existed until now, lol. I don't think I am going to use any of the boosts in the first play through but I am very tempted to give Big Head mode a looksee, lol.

I think I'm at 56% and I'm headed to the 2nd to last area according to walkthroughs. I need to go back to earlier areas and find some of the things I missed or couldn't do without upgrades before continuing on.

I "finished" the game today. Phewwwww! Those last few areas had a decent step-up in challenge but I managed with determination. I am going to go back and sweep for a couple tombs I missed or couldn't enter and then mess with some of the cards down the road.

Fallout4 has been calling my name!

So to wrap up my Tomb Raider review I think it full deserves the high 80's and low 90's it has been receiving overall. It fully improved on the previous game and is on my short list for GotY. There is a heavy stable of worthy choices this year and while it won't take the crown being an X1 exclusive, I would expect to see it get awards for Best Graphics 2015 from many of the non-bias websites.

Just wanted to share this guy whose doing 1-minute walkthroughs of Tomb Raider that I find pretty funny. Definitely recommend giving a watch.

I'm having really strong urges to just pick up Rise of the Tomb Raider and play it. But.. so many games man. One at a time.

Hi guys. Im interested in this title, what the approximate play through time? I read 30 - 40 hours - is that legit

I've probably put 35 hours into the game so far and I'm at 77%. I'm right at the very end just finding stuff and upgrading everything as much as I can before beating the game.
