S.H.I.E.L.D.!

but without the real superheros what can we expect from this? I have a feeling after the 3 episode this going to crash, I could be wrong and maybe bring the movie in this as well.
I will watch it.

As long as people go in with the understanding the Super Heroes are going to pull cameos at best then the show should do fine if it is well written. If everyone goes in thinking this will be just like the movie it will be cancelled with a quickness.

I'll watch anything with Cobie Smulders in it. I'm in.

IMDB says she is in it but I don't see her listed on the show site, wtf?

AFAIK She's only in the pilot (and maybe she'll be recurring here and there?) to help bridge the show with the movie.

I will watch it.

There will be superheroes, they just won't be the ones we know and the show won't revolve around them. AFAIK the first episode has a superhero in it played by J. August Richards (Angel's "Gunn").

It's tonight! I hope they explain how Agent Phil "came back".
This is the most popular theory I've seen thus far: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_Model_Decoy
Remember, Tony Stark mentioned this in one of the Iron Man movies (2 IIRC).
But at the same time in interviews the cast and Whedon have repeatedly mentioned a dark side to him coming back, so if he never really died and it was just an android then that doesn't track, so we shall see.
All I know is I can't wait any longer! These next 9 hours are going to be tough to get through.

good I will watch it tonight, I just bought Iron Man 3 on the XBOX marketplace for like $19.99 with bonus. It was very good movie and now I can be ready for this!

Just going to skip this for now to see how it goes. Never was really excited for it.

The first episode was pretty good. It shares the same problem I had with Avengers, albeit more of a nitpick than a problem. The ridiculous technobabble and very advanced technology they have is kinda hard to wrap your head around. It feels like they have a piece of tech for every possible scenario. The connection to the films is pretty cool though.

Hey that red glow is not from like the Iron Man 3?

By the way Sky is super hot!

Yes, it's part of the Extremis project. Also present seems to be Chitauri tech and Gamma radiation (as we all know this is what brought out the Hulk).

And yeah, Skye is smokin' hot.

I really enjoyed this pilot and cannot wait for the next episode.

I'm a bit disappointed that
J. August Richards only had a guest spot on the show. I know it's not supposed to have superheroes as the main cast but I really liked his work on Angel and was looking forward to seeing more of him.

On a serious note, I thought it was really good! They didn't even explain how Phil came back exactly, so I'm hoping they might will within the next few shows. Perhaps we'll see all of those guys in The Avengers II/III? Who knows. :)

Maria Hill and some other guy mentioned that Coulson isn't aware of something, sounded like something important too. Possibly ties into how he came back.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It seems like Coulson doesn't know about himself or something.

I didn't think much of it to be honest. It wasn't exactly bad, but wasn't anything great either. I'll keep watching for a bit and see how it evolves, but right now, I'm rather disappointed.

I turned it on with about a minute left as I was going to watch The Goldbergs or whatever (meh) and as I originally thought, it just seemed like bad productions/cheese stuff. I'll stick with Arrow for my TV comic book fix.

Kinda agree, it wasn't as high for production value as I thought it would have had..seemed like a cheap throw together. some good actors from the movies though
