MS nor Insomniac haven't mentioned sales, so we have no idea if the sales are good or not. Game quality, game reviews and fun factor > sales however.
Some posters here feel that digital sales should not be part of the overall sales figures for a game, and that only retail matters.
Gap increasing ... at a slower rate.
Gap decreasing....at a faster rate.
November 2014 NPD
- X1 sold more than PS4 and Wii U combined
- X1 sold more than PS4 despite having gimped AC: U and oldie AC: BF as bundled games, while PS4 had two bundles to choose from: highly rated top selling games GTA5/LoU in one bundle and the family friendly bundle with LBP3/Lego Batman
- Despite still having around 700k less consoles in USA (after Nov finished), some of the top selling games in November still sold more on X1 than PS4
- 360 sold more than PS3
- 360 game sales still pretty high with some 360 versions selling more than any other platform.... so there's still a sizable amount of active last gen gamers
- For console multiplats, the PS3 version sold the least. X1, PS4 and 360 all sold more
- X1 sold more than PS4 and Wii U combined

BUT BUT MS doesn't support their consoles after 4 years...they have a history of always doing that, so the 360 will only be here 4 years. Their claim at a 10 year life-cycle is a LIE...a facade. Oh wait....

Yup. 360 is at 9 years. And the way console gaming is now, it'll be 10+ no problem. PS4 is at 8 years and will surely hit 10 too. Of course you won't have as many AAA games and top dev teams making games as they'll shift more to next gen, but the support in apps, games and online sill linger much longer than past gens when most gamers did more of an "abrupt cut off attitude" from one gen to another.
Indeed....but we are still seeing some AAA exclusives on each platform. Look at the 360, still rolling with some awesome games like Titanfall, Forza Horizon 2, Tomb Raider: Rise of the Tomb Raider...and still getting a slew of indies...and of course all the great cross gen games like COD, Destiny.
I underestimated X1 and PS4 and overstated Wii U.
The key loser is Wii U. It sold roughly 250k. In Nov, console sales should spike due to BF deals and Xmas coming up. If a console can only sell 250k, that's an issue.
Though X1 sold the best at 1.2M, PS4 at lets say ~850k is great too.
It goes to show for this gen, console gamers are skewing to X1/PS4 and the whole Wii demographic isn't there like last time when it was selling as much as 360/PS3 combined at times. The demographic is actually still there.... just that they don't want it this time. They tried it, and don't want seconds.
The Wii U as a console, I have no idea. I have never played on a Wii U. All I do know is that I would love to have games like Mario and Donkey Kong on my X1 or PS4. I wish Nintendo would go with pushing their software/games to other devices.
PS4 - XBone worldwide sales gap INCREASED in November. MS is not entertained.

I think that is going to be a popular statement. Though with the sales gap decreasing, that will not sit well with many. Personally, I think the more competitive and closer in sales they are, the better it is for gamers worldwide.
Possibly. With gamers in other continents favouring PS for decades and 60 more countries, it's not surprising. It's actually a given.
But the discussion lately is US NPD and X1 dominated, outselling PS4 and Wii U combined with room to spare. X1 won UK too. And with Canada having such close ties to US in market dynamics, X1 most likely won here too.
As for worldwide November sales comparisons, where the proof and stat sheets showing PS4 outsold X1 on a global basis?
Agreed. If one single US NPD month caused so many ruffled feathers, imagine what it will be like if the gap closes a bit more. Never mind ruffled feathers. Try zero feathers as they all shed due to stress.
I agree again. Having one dominant system is no good for the industry. I think two big sellers is a sweet spot. Three is doable.... 360/PS3/Wii, but developers only have so much time, money and manpower to cover all consoles with good effort. And that excludes any resources for PC, handhelds, tablets an smartphones.
So last gen, we saw a ton of gimpy ports for Wii as they were an afterthought for higher budget and quality third party games. No doubt the power was lacking, but even then so some games just seemed much worse in visuals and features than expected. Kinect and Eye then jumped in taking away more time and resources which could have been put into traditional games.
Granted, someone may say motion controls are great and gaming needed new control schemes, but I think the general public wants to play games with standard controllers. That's why I think this shole push for VR may be trash. Every so often VR pops up it's ugly head. And so far whether it's Morpheus or Rift, we still haven't seen much about it aside from seeing people strapping a bulky helmet/goggles on their head and playing some demos.
So winning the battle but losing the war. Got it. Continue discussing irrelevant matters.

Since you seem to convinced PS4 sold more than X1 in November, just post the links. As I said, it's probably a given PS4 will sell more due to popularity in other regions of the world, but please enlighten us all on your credible sources regarding global November sales.
NPD showed X1 won by 400k. So that's one source to use.
So just scrape up various sales reports you have from the other parts of the world and add them up.

X1 easily won NPD. Outselling PS4 and Wii U combined.

Why no? It is common sense. If more PS4's are still sold more on a global scale - then the gap is still increasing albeit at a slower rate.
