Just a reminder of actual November NPD sales in case any of you got tricked into believing that bogus sales data leak. The real approximated sales are as follows:

X1 1,240,000
PS4 833,000
Wii U 242,000

MS PR
“We are committed to making Xbox the best place to play, with this year’s best games, the best community of gamers to play with, and terrific value. And we are amazed by the excitement Xbox fans have shown to start off this holiday. November set a new record for sales of Xbox One, and Xbox One was the best-selling console in the US and UK.* Response to the holiday lineup of games on Xbox One was incredible, with Xbox One fans buying more games in November in the U.S. than any other gen eight platform and enjoying over 357 million hours of gameplay globally. In fact, more fans logged into Xbox Live across Xbox One and Xbox 360, and enjoyed more entertainment, than any other month in the history of Xbox. We love to see the excitement from our fans and are grateful for their passion, support and contributions to the Xbox community.” – Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President, Xbox Marketing.

Nintendo PR
Overall sales of Nintendo 3DS software in November increased by more than 40 percent over the same month in 2013, thanks in part to three huge games:

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire: The next great Pokémon adventures for Nintendo 3DS launched on Nov. 21 and have already sold nearly 1.5 million combined physical and digital units in the U.S. alone.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS: The best-selling individual portable game in the U.S. so far in 2014, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has sold more than 1.5 million physical and digital units in the U.S. since it launched on Oct. 3.

November was also a strong month for Nintendo on the console side, as sales of Wii U hardware and software increased by more than 10 percent and more than 90 percent, respectively, over the same period in 2013. In fact, the week of Nov. 23 was the biggest single week of Wii U hardware sales since the system launched in November 2012. Other Wii U highlights for the month include:

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has sold nearly 710,000 combined units since launching on Nov. 21. With a current Metacritic score of 92, the latest iteration in Nintendo’s venerable fighting franchise is one of the best-reviewed games in the current generation of systems.

Nov. 21 also saw the arrival of amiibo, Nintendo’s new platform where gaming’s most recognizable characters can be used in different ways in many compatible games. Sales of amiibo are approximately equal to sales of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U so far, while Link, Mario and Pikachu (in that order) have been the best-selling figures to date.

Sony PR
We are thrilled with the incredible momentum seen at retail heading into the holiday shopping season. PS4 is the cumulative leader in hardware sales and was #1 on the Amazon Video Games Bestseller list on Black Friday. On the network side, November was the biggest month ever in PlayStation Store history with a nearly 50 percent increase in unique visitors compared to last year. We couldn’t have done any of this without the support of our fans. The immediate success of PlayStation Experience and celebration of the 20th Anniversary demonstrates tremendous dedication to the PlayStation platform. We are humbled by the loyalty of our fans and look forward to amazing them in 2015

X1 1,250,000
PS4 850,000
Wii U 250,000

Just a reminder to everyone as well. The PS4 increased its lead over Xbox One in WORLDWIDE sales during the month of November.

Can't find any news on that. Do you have a link?
He doesn't have one. Check the final pages of the old v1.6 thread.

To deflate the NPD results, Hard Line (Smilebit) has been posting some kind of WW claim with no sources. A ban is suitable.

Can't find any news on that. Do you have a link?

1) Microsoft really only clenched their butt hole with regards to the One in two markets this holiday season. N. America and the UK. All other markets were relatively ignored by MS price drops. White flag?

2) If you recognize the pattern of PS4:One ratio in these other markets during non holiday months, it's reasonable to assume the patterns will stay consistent during holiday months. Note: The ratio will stay consistent but the sales will obviously increase relative to current market trends.

3) North America + UK is about 40% of the worldwide market.

If you do some simple, very simple, calculations, you can see the PS4 sold between 600k - 900k in these secondary markets. Compare that number to the Xbox One's numbers and you have a modest yet very real overall sales lead for the month of November by the PS4.

Math isn't hard. Let's not have others doing the thinking for us all the time, OK?

Utter domination. This is mind boggling.

Without cut and pasting yesterday's theatrics, this GIF sums it up:

Yeah. Going by the aggressive deals MS did and the fact MS even said they outsold PS4 the first two weeks of Nov, I think most people would put 2 and 2 together and assume MS would win November. I don't think there are many that would assume PS4 would win even though it's been a better seller every month and had some bundles too. MS's aggressive promos gave the impression for people that it outweighed whatever natural sales advantage PS4 does monthly.

However, I don't think many would assume MS would win by 400k.

The NPD chat wouldn't be this hilarious if it wasn't for you know who making that silly claim, which lingered around forums for hours before people with actual sales data knowledge stepped in and debunked it.

Goes to show how silly gaming forums can be. Take a one-liner from an inaccurate "insider" and it spreads like wildfire. Entertaining, but still silly.

I loved every minute of that NPD thread on GAF. Hilarious from start to end.

There will be more fun when he's unbanned.

Typically, that forum has loose moderation considering how active it is, but when someone gets banned it's often perma. But that guy never gets perma-banned. From my knowledge, it's the third time already. Possibly even more I don't know about.

GAF is always fun to read from time to time. Posters there are crazy.

Sony PR released. It looks like they won on the actual BF day in terms of sales at Amazon.

"Cumulative leader in hardware sales"

Math. It isn't hard people.

What is MS's next play? Another price drop? How pissed are they right now that they're taking losses on their console and can't unseat the PS4 which is making Sony money on every console sold? Would MS even have entered this generation of consoles had they known Sony would be this dominant?

Looking through the months that sony has dominated, it appears sony wins even when they have less exclusives(that's almost every month), or anything to offer really. People are just more willing to buy sony. I don't think anything will stop them all generation. I could see them winning WW sales 2015 without a single exclusive, I know they would.

They could delay every game into 2016 last minute and people would still buy it, meanwhile MS pumps out games and loses. lol. Sony would lose 2016 from backlash, but otherwise 2015 wouldn't be a problem with zero exclusives, some months would be close(winter), but they'd still win overall. MS will crush them again with exclusive games sales, but that's not winning the console war.

Why would they do another price drop when their November promos already destroyed PS4 sales? 1.2M vs 800k = +50% more sales.

And what does profitability have to do with a thread about sales? Where's your source that says MS loses money selling X1 at November's hot promos?

PV already asked for sources for your WW sales claim. You had none. But surely you can scrape up a source regarding retail pricing vs. profitability. Consider this request a second chance.

That is the price you pay for disconnecting from your consumer base and trying to force things upon them they obviously wouldn't want. Once MS handed momentum to Playstation it was always going to be an up-hill struggle. Playstation fans act like Playstation doing so well is all Sony's doing, but in truth, MS simply took themselves out the game. It took a pretty severe price drop, a detachment from Kinect, and bundling mad value to that hardware to finally start swaying consumers back to their side. Even then, we have no clue right now if MS has really built any momentum.

Sony's success is not all thanks to MS. It's a combination of factors. MS's mistakes were just one of them.

OMG I won the bet ---> HALO MCC 600K

Forgot who I made a bet (this foo said 5+ million during the holidays; I said f no; more like less than 3 million life time like halo wars/CE anniversary) with. Gonna go through my post history so I can put him on blast lol.

Do we really know if they are taking losses? We can only speculate on that.

what why? The games will come, happens everytime.

Bingo man if MS hadn't messed up Sony proably wouldn't even be in the console business any more.:yyell:

lol...that is a bit too extreme. I am not trying to condemn Sony. If your competition takes themselves out then the one left standing gets the market, that is exactly what has happened.
