Astro left the forum because he couldn't get away with belittling and insulting people, like he did at TXB. He was warned a few times, banned once or twice, and then he took his toys and went home.
I guess he was persuasive to some. To me, he was a bore. I enjoyed watching Ketto take him apart like a med student dissects a cadaver.

As for sales, X1 nailed November, and December looks good for us. Hiking the price back up will probably slow the momentum, but glad to see the momentum for the holiday season favored us. With the price, the games, the quality, etc. - I love our position. I'd rather be the one behind on sales with something to prove and more AAA titles than the guys who have the most sales, but are losing momentum and not releasing as many AAA titles...
Looking forward to December's numbers.

November's gap was really big, Xbox One was 400,000 ahead. Be interesting to see if the gap is as large again for December.
The price cut also being applicable to the bundles was a great deal, surely Xbox One will top NPD. I would be staggered if it didn't.

You see how some of these guys behave when someone like Astro's name is brought up? Jealousy stricken, the lot of em.
Even mods. Yet somehow we're nuts. Usually the most insecure ones on the forum come crawling out of the wood works. More people turned to Astro then anyone else on these forums. Including Ketto and Andy. Thats just the way the wheel turned when he fancied these forums When ever he posted, you have at least five to seven guys jumping on his case and telling him he knew squat.
You dont attract that kind of attention unless your a threat. Just sayin....
I miss Astro, he was the only one that would dumb down all the tech stuff so I could understand.

the moment MS beat Sony they would just stop giving us AAA exclusives (that's what they did with 360) so i like the way it is.
I'm sure they'll win December but I doubt the margin will be any more than 200k.
LOL Who the hell wants to be behind? Who wants to have to not only lower their price below the competition but also be forced to include free third party games just to win a month or two in what used to be a region they dominated? Also who said Sony is losing momentum? their lead grew globally over the holidays and they are likely already back to outselling you guys here in NA now that you've lost your price advantage. I'm pretty sure when January NPD's are reported the PS4 will be back to outselling the Xbox One.
I also have to ask where do you get this "Sony isn't releasing as many AAA titles" stuff from? they have several studios that are working on games that aren't announced yet, not only that but you guys stopped releasing AAA stuff that wasn't called Halo, Gears Forza or Fable halfway through the last generation so what would inspire confidence that you guys will keep it up? Besides what AAA titles are you guys releasing? a fable game that isn't really fable but some generic fantasy MP game? another Forza, another Halo (what is it like 8 of them now?) oh yeah Quantum Break and Tomb Raider, one of which may not really be exclusive and neither of which will likely make the 2015 release dates that are advertised. I like you Flynn even though we disagree on what's better when it comes to gaming but saying you are happy to be losing makes no sense.

X1 won one month (maybe also in Dec) in ONE region, when X1 is priced lower. MS announced that they shipped 10million to retailers in mide december. MS have subsequently return to original price point before the Holidays.
PS4 announced that they sold though 18.5 million World wide.
Even if I am being very generous & say MS shipped 11m X1 WW when Sony announced 18.5 million sold through. Lets go even further & very say 18.5 millon PS4 is ONLY shipped. Its still

Xbox has more games of higher grade. Xbox had more higher grade games at Christmas last year, and at Christmas this year.
Our services are better. Much better. Our platform I evolving faster. We have more high grade games. We have more features. And now, we have more momentum.
I don't like being behind, but I prefer our spot to Sony's. We have the better product.

PS4 has more momentum this holiday in global sales. PS4 outsold XB1 this holiday in global sales and 2014 overall. PS4 sold ~14.2 million in 2014, XB1 ~7 million.
Xbox had a temporary sales bump in the US due to price cuts and bundles, its "momentum" is about as long lasting as the Titanfall bump. The price cuts are over, PS4 is back on top in hourly sales the past couple days on Amazon. PS4 is keeping more momentum going into 2015 than XB1.
XB1 will likely fail to keep pace with 360 LTD sometime in 2015-2016.
PS4 has more AAA games not on XB1 released and upcoming.

I think I can understand Flynn logic. I will use the analogy of a season of F1 race.
Team Blonde have a strong start, 1/5 of a season passed & they have a considerable points lead
Team Ginger, had a poor start, & lagging behind. but in the last few races, they have made improvements & now have the fastest car in the grid, & now closing the lead to the leader each race.
So while Team Blonde is leading, Team Ginger maybe in a better situation, interpolating this. they should be to catch up & gain the lead before end of the season.
So its not a always the case where being second is objectively worst than being number one, when all things considered. A team that is in the form of their lives but in second place, maybe in a better situation than a team in first place, but started to show cracks, like engine breaking down mid race, or drivers dropping form.
Having said these, its where my agreement with Flynn end, because X1 is NOT catching up to PS4, world wide. There is little data that support this, There are in fact more data to supprt PS4 lead have increased. of course Flynn can claim he mean NA only, but thats like cherry picking. Its like saying your car is catching up with another car, because you won once in Silverstone, never mind the same car lost in all other racetracks, but please look only at Silverstone.
Flynn is basically taking a possible situation, like my F1 race cars analogy, to tell us X1 being second is not bad, in fact it can be a better situation, This is prefectly fine, but then he tried to equip it with actual situation of X1, by selectively picking one particular month, in one particular region, & never mind in a situation that will unlikely to be repeated (price drop in holidays) in the future (unless they made another price drop), to made the claim that X1 have momentum.
Maybe if members here are Jerry Simpleton, or Mary Gullible, they will actually believe it, but most people are better than that.
How about using your considerable intellect ( I think you are a smart person) , & make some meaning but unbias & unmisleading comments, & more people, & I as well, can actually take your posts seriously.

You're kidding, right? PS4 has the better selling console. Games are selling better on PS4. Most games look and perform better on PS4. In it's lifetime, PS4 will most likely have the better exclusives.
Yeah, I think Sony is pretty happy in their spot right now.
But.....Team PS4 is still the fastest car in the grid, so your analogy doesn't work. Team PS4 is so far ahead, and still continues to outrace Team XB1 worldwide, that XB1 has a snowball's chance in hell of ever catching up. For Team XB1 to actually catch up, they would need to continuously out race Team PS4 on a worldwide scale, and Team PS4 would need to start doing worse.
Mark my words, XB1 is not going to beat out PS4 world wide this generation, so Sony is in the best position. Hell, even in Amazon, PS4 is currently back at #5 with XB1 bundle down to # 21. hell, the top 5 best sellers in video games are Sony in nature. Sony is NOT worried at all.

I read your post, and I know what you said. But in the first part, you still gave Flynn fuel by making a comment that was flat out false...in saying Team XB1 now had the fastest car in the grid. That is still false. Using your racing analogy, there would be several cars in the grid, and we could consider each car a region. Team Xb1's car in NA region was pretty fast, but still much slower than most of PS4's other cars in most regions, still making Team XB1's car not that fast.
Ok, just take it as Team A vs team B. The PS4 vs X1 are only example team names, it could be team Blonde vs Team Ginger, not suppose to represent current situation. It is not clear in my original post? Nevermind, I amended names of teams
My second part of the post clearly stated that the Analogy does NOT work, because X1 is not gaining momentum.

I actually enjoy MS being the underdog, works perfectly that they are trying so hard to compete and I reap all the rewards. I don't need them completely destroyed though, that would suck for all gamers, which is odd why some do want that. The crappy part is sony seems complacent to an extent, no urgency to get us all those exclusive. I feel that if they were in MS position, we would being seeing actual greatness, and not a tag line.
