Oh for sure, even when people here have disagreements (I've been involved in my share) they never rise to the level of what goes on at those other forums. I hope none of those people find this place lol. I do see one guy who used to post here VFX Veteran and he's become a monster in the way he talks to people over there.

I think both Xbox and PlayStation 1st party devs heavily rely on external and contract work very heavily. A lot it comes from asIan tertories. There was some article about it, somewhere.

The initiative seemed to be going heavy on it too, basing their work on the way Hollywood hires people, temporarily in guessing. Cos they want to keep their team small.

*edit to add note for JinCA * I meant we would hide images in the art we’d create, not outsource or projects for school. But I know of some people who would lol

I wish MS could make better decisions and stop falling on there faces(coming from a fan) but they just don't know the industry.
They have improved and made many gamer friendly choices though.

Both are actually close in power.
Both have advantages over each other.
XSX wins in overall power.

PS5 will win in better visuals via it's exclusives.
PS5 will hit 10 million sold 1st and win another gen by a landslide.

MS needs to branch out a bit more from the sci-fi stuff and get back to doing more fantasy like Fable and maybe some kind of action game grounded a bit more in reality. That new game Everwild has a really cool look to it, sadly we don't know what kind of game it is, if it's an MMO I'm not interested but if that is a single player RPG with our without co-op I'm very interested. Ever since the first Ori I was hoping they'd to do a high end fantasy action RPG game with a similar look and while Everwild doesn't really look like it's trying to do that specifically the environments and wildlife look awesome.

I would also like to see them come out with something more adult oriented like a Last of Us.

How bout a spinoff of sea of thieves, only in space. You still got the sail boats, but you sail to other planets or asteroids. It’ll be an action RPG like souls but easier, it’ll be open world and you could literally go in any direction. You play as a girl looking for dad but also to avenge her alien girl friend. Oh and you have hover surfboards.

*edit to add* scratch the fallen gf, she’s alive but really she ends up with a guy, who then later kills her, because you gotta add some anime like love triangle for the western weebs and Japanese audience. So there’ll be a gender fluid final boss with three forms and you’ll overcome it with the power of friendship, but they all die, so in the sequel you go looking for seven gems to bring them back but in doing so you bring back the baddie only to setup the third game in the trilogy, who’s plot is secret.

The hero self sacrifices them self to bring peace, but the alternate extra hard ending you find out the hero is still technically exist

Stage
A) Company X: If we can outsource some work that are cheaper in China (or insert another place)
B) Company X: Wow, we increase our profit so much by outsourcing to China. Why not build a studio/Factory/Center there & move jobs there
C) Chinese employees: We did everything, why do we need Company X any more. Let's start our own & call it company Y, with the knowledge & IP we learn from Company X
D) Company X nosedive as they cannot compete with Company Y.

They do. The Cali studios being smaller compared to a lot of AAA studios is no coincidence. Lot of contract work in that area. Why it's hard to guess how big the next projects from Obsidian, The Initiatove and InXile will be. The quality of the art, story and game design is most determined by their leads.

Who cares if they mod differently? This forum is this forum.

This forum is very unique. It's why I still post here. We have unique personalities who've been arguing and talking about games since it was TeamXbox. None of this is that serious. People aren't banned for opinions, not worshiping at the alter of Jason Schrier or for not being part of a hive mind.

Here's a secret Val...I like you here. Arguing with you is kind of therapeutic. Forum wouldn't be the same without you. Don't be taking it personal.

What I really would like to see is a game that steps up the destruction and in-game physics. I still don't think I've seen a game touch Red Faction.
