Have they 100% confirmed if it's free or paid yet?
The base Miles Morales game is $50 if you get the Ultimate edition for $70 which is the same price as any other 1st party PS5 game you get both Miles Morales and the Remaster of the original game. It isn't free but you can always play the version you have now through BC on PS5.

I stupidly just bought the original game during one of Sony's big summer sales for $20. I now wish I'd have waited and put that $20 into the upgraded version! Oh well, no way of knowing. I also need to stop buying things I know I"m not going to be able to play for a while just because they're on sale!

I hear ya on purchases because of tempting sale prices. I still haven't touched Greedfall because the price was just too low for me to ignore ( I think it was $15). And it'll probably be on Gamepass in a week, lol.

I'm actually surprised by Sony's move with Spiderman and their recent game pricing increase. They have been so pro-consumer in the past. If you look at their first party stable of games on PS4 you won't find any microtransactions or any slimy DLC practices. But now they are charging for a game that's over a year old? I know, its a remaster but still its an old game and then raising prices to $70 is not cool in my opinion. I was planning on getting the Miles expansion but now I'm kind of leaning towards waiting for a sale as my own form of protest of Sony's recent moves to increase prices for new/old/remastered titles.

The remaster is only $20 so it's not like they are charging full price, they put more work into this than TLOU remastered when that came out on the PS4 and that was $40 if I remember correctly.

As far as the $10 price hike I'm all for it if that means they keep making single player story rich games and don't have to design games around backend monetization.

Good point. Also cheaper than what you have to pay to get next gen patch for Control. Sucks that some games / publishers are still trying to go the old school "pay us again for the same game" route, but I think / hope they'll see the backlash and reconsider how they handle these for future titles.

Side note: I"d been holding off on playing more of Last of Us 2 with the assumption we'd be getting a free next gen patch, but maybe I shouldn't assume it will be free.

Hopefully since it's a game that came out in the same year they'll add a free patch, I can see Spider-Man having to cost something because it's 2 years old and they likely have to pay some kind of licensing fee to Marvel but TLOU and Ghost of Tsushima are both rumored to be getting patches, hopefully they don't charge for those.

-Peter isn't gone, but is in the shadows playing the role of a mentor, he communicates with Miles, example they gave was a text, they also interact physically in the story

-Peter's story will also move forward in this game

-True sequel that likely sets the stage for what comes next, a bit shorter than the first game. Not considering it a side story

-Will have new and familiar characters

-Set 1 year after the first game Miles is 17 years old

Suits:
-Beginner Suit: Miles' homemade suit, similar to the Spiderverse suit
-Gift Suit: Gifted to Miles and is not technologically advanced, looks like pajamas
-Iconic Suit: The suit we have all seen in the promo material
-TRACK Suit: This is one of the DLC suits, the white one with the red spider
-Cat Suit: Masked cat in a backpack lol
-2020 Suit: Futuristic looking suit with LED's

Other Details:
-Talk about how detailed Harlem is, making you want to stop the character and just look around to soak it all in

- Although Harlem is the same size, they have increased the detail in the area and made it more lively, brought in consultants to make sure Harlem was brought to life. Treated Harlem like a character itself

-Swinging motion is not as good as Peter's, his body kind of jolts about as he's swinging through the air, with less control of his arms and legs. Describe him as a bit of a "helicopter" in his movements
Performance Mode
- 4k/60fps
- Screen-space reflections instead of ray tracing
- Native (dynamic) resolution is lower than in Fidelity Mode

Fidelity Mode

No load times on PS5. Just a screen flash when you fast travel. On PS4, loading is a mix of Spider-Man images with tips or subway rides.

Standard PS4
- 1080p/30fps

PS4 Pro
- 4K/30fps
