***SPOILERS*** Star Wars Episode VII ***SPOILERS***

It seems like lots of people didn't like that Ren revealed himself so early, but personally I loved it more than anything. That made it absolutely clear that he is not a Vader, at least not yet. If he was as good as Vader, no way the climax would have worked. It also makes the ending work. We have a dark master and an apprentice, and them a good master and an apprentice, with both apprentices still being imperfect. It sets up a good foundation to where the next movie should go.

Yeah, it was made clear that he is not Sith, therefore, he shouldn't be very scary right now.

Han isn't coming back. Harrison is to old to keep playing Han. He went out in style. I thought maybe he'd always go out on his ship, but this was good.

Although I thought this was too close to A New Hope, I still enjoyed it.

Was anyone else hoping that in the last scene Luke was going to hold out his hand and force pull the light Saber to himself and then have the movie cut out?

I know I did.

He isn't too old. He did great in the movie, and they are filming the new one right now. He could have just kept filming.

What's with losing the right hand? Luke, Vader and now Ren, all of lost their right hands. Ren lost it too, right or did I not see that correctly?

He's old enough. Would I like to keep seeing Han Solo? Yes! However, I'm OK with how things went. He would've been phased out much more in the next few movies if he was still alive.

I don't think he lost a hand. I think part of his cape got clipped and then his face slashed. Maybe someone who watched it a few more times knows best, but I think he has his hands.

Could have sworn he lost the hand. I'm trying to find a clip of it, but I can't.

yes...he is old. The man is 73 years old. He is five years away from the average life expectancy for americans. He is almost 10 years over the beginning of what's considered "elderly".

He is old. These movies weren't meant to continue the story of Han. They were made to start a new line of heroes, specifically of Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo. They are the next generational Star Wars characters. The old folks were thrown in for closure, and to tie the old to the new. I suspect even Mark hammil has seen his day, and we probably will see him play no more than an old Obi type role, with Rey being the central Jedi, not Luke.

To put things into perspective on HOW OLD Harrison Ford is, he is about 10 years OLDER than Alec Guinness was when Sir Alec did a New Hope.

He is old. We got closure. Maybe not the closure we wanted, when we think about how he was our childhood hero, but we got it, and it was a fitting closure for him. I hated to see him go, it was a bitter moment, but it added realism to the story. Even our beloved childhood heroes are untouchable.

It added a much-needed weight to the story all right. One of the reasons Marvel movies suck is that they are bound to too much BSs that pretty much stop them from doing what should be done to characters, especially death. Star Wars, however, always had and still has guts to kill characters when it's necessary. It's a sign that in this series people will come and go and time will pass by, and I absolutely stand by the decision.

And the death scene was pretty much aligned with the character, I'm not sure why some say it didn't make sense. Han was always defined by his seemingly aloof and selfish attitude only to be offsetted by saving his friends at the very last minute and putting himself into a **** tons of trouble. In that regard it was just like those two instances when he took the risk and saved Luke. Only this time it was his son, someone whom he tried to run away from for a long time. For one last time he said f*** it, did the right thing, and faced the consequence.

Exactly. He's reckless indeed, and in this case, to his demise. It's in his character...and it's a character flaw, but they stayed true to his character. I will this, this movie is a whole lot deeper than people give JJ credit for, once seen several times, analyzed, and once the other movies are released...we'll see it as one of the best star wars movies.

I loved it.

Okay you guys went over/touched on most points that I thought of but did anyone else notice that....

The music when Kylo Ren talks to Snoke is the same theme as when Palpatine told Anakin about Darth Plagius the Wise...also Kylo Ren says SNOKE is WISE to Han when they are on that bridge...He also looks just like they describe him in the Darth Plagius book...

So anyway yeah. Lots of rehash but fun and the new characters are great. I loved Finn and Rey. I also think Finn has force ability but maybe not as strong as Rey.

This is the problem with the Internet. See I agree with you on every thing you said. But that wasn't what I was saying. I was stating he is not to old to act. He is quite capable of carrying Han to the next episode if he wanted to physically and mentally since they are filming it right now.

I agree it was perfect closure and we are all sad to see him go. I'm happy they did what they did.

Yeah, he's still old enough to act...but honestly, we really don't need an elderly Han Solo, that's over 10 years older than Obi was.

He's just past his "hero" prime, and yeah, he kinda is too old to be playing "Han". That doesn't mean he's too old to act, but who really wants to see elderly Han? It ruins the image of Han for many, and this was a bitter/sweet way of taking him out, as we still remember him, and not give him the old man Yoda treatment.

I agree. It was good for Han to go out as he did....BUT I would almost rather his body not have fallen into nowhere and they had given him a proper burial. It's like we (nor Chewy) to properly mourn his death. A funeral with Chewy shedding a tear could have been a hugely emotional moment for all.

That said, enough for me on that...who was the guy at the 1st of the movie that gave Poe a piece of the map? Kylo knew who he was before he killed him and he knew alot about the history. Not sure where he fits in nor how Maz secured Luke's lightsaber. There are MANY unanswered questions going into part VIII.

Yup totally agree. And to that I think Ford did awesome. Nailed the humor too.

According to the Internet, it's Lor San Tekka.

Was the first thing I Googled when I left the movie, hah.

BTW, confirmed and unconfirmed cameo appearances so far:

Confirmed: Daniel Craig plays the stormtrooper that "removes these restraints, leaves this cell with the door open, and leave the weapon behind."

Unconfirmed: Robert Downey Jr. and Hugh Jackman play stormtroopers in the hanger that talks about the new speeder.

I seriously hope this becomes a tradition for the series. TFA proved that stormtroopers are such an untapped potential of comic relief.

BTW not sure if anybody mentioned this, but one of the things I love about TFA is that it basically said FU to midichlorians. Maz's exposition to Rey pretty much reverts the concept of the Force to what Obi-wan said in the first film, and the only trace that remains is that one is Force sensitive and others are not. It brings the mystical aspect of the Force back to the series.

That's pretty funny.

I don't know if any of you watch Star Wars Rebels. In the second season of it there are a pair of Sith Warriors called the Inquisitors. I'm pretty sure the flash back that Rae has shows the male one who wears the big hat getting killed. Interesting if it was.

I just started to watching Rebels. Sky have it on demand(two seasons) along with the Clone Wars series.

I rly enjoyed it.

My only issue is the undermining of the light saber. Finn and the girl should not have been that effective using it. They both looked more capable than Luke in empire strikes back.

Dude even I can do better than all of them and I have never used a light saber. That s*** be easy.
