***SPOILERS*** Star Wars Episode VII ***SPOILERS***

Dude even I can do better than all of them and I have never used a light saber. That s*** be easy.

I was glad to see the acting and directing seemed so much better.

Rey- I hope she's the child of the characters in the Lost Stars novel. Would be nice to move into new families. Leave the Skywalkers behind! Great Character

Han- stole the movie! Hands down his character and acting shined

Finn- Worst new character. Is he a trooper? a sanitation worker? Just poorly written and convoluted. He was given no transition from indoctrinated "spartan" soldier to hero. He totally planned the destruction on the fly!!!

Poe- Um just awesome actions scenes, but he just left Jakkuu (how) without his information/droid?

JJ Abrams- He did exactly what he did with Star Trek with Star Wars- Made an entertaining action movie with gaping plot holes. Not being a trekkie, I can take them as entertaining. In Star Wars it was just too glaring. With the prequels i thought if they had a better director and actors they could be decent, with the TFA it was ike the acting and directing worked, but the story was derivative and stupid.

I agree, Flynn is a tool. They should have killed him off.

BTW not sure if anybody mentioned this, but one of the things I love about TFA is that it basically said FU to midichlorians. Maz's exposition to Rey pretty much reverts the concept of the Force to what Obi-wan said in the first film, and the only trace that remains is that one is Force sensitive and others are not. It brings the mystical aspect of the Force back to the series.

Hoping the ones that backed away from The room when Ren had a temper tantrum are cameos

Makes me laugh how the trailer implied that Finn is the new Jedi, but then it turns out to be Rey. Shame they couldn't have kept that secret and revealed it in an awesome Yoda-esque fight scene. Her fight scene at the end is pretty unspectacular.

Only two scenes I didn't like in the movie was the crappy end lightsaber battle and the Han Solo appearance. That scene where the monsters get released and two other pirates/gangs show up felt like a standard 101 Abrams scene straight out of movie school. I didn't like it because it wasn't Star Wars. Also wtf was up with the light saber being in a treasure chest? lol in that space tech age it should have been in an alien box or secure something.

Visuals were spectacular. But Rey's fight at the end sucked so bad. I thought the guys from the Raid series were involved and was going to translate into an epic saber battle. And what's up with Rey using the Force all of a sudden when she was captured. That was a major eye roll scene. And Luke just says fck you to everyone because his star pupil turns to the Dark Side, then fck him if he's going to turn and run when things get tough, lol. I wasn't a fan of Ren's tantrums either, just made him look stupid.

Snoke........I get the feeling his Wizard of Oz hologram is to mask his truly tiny size. I wouldn't be surprised if he's Yoda sized, haha.

I don't know if any of you watch Star Wars Rebels. In the second season of it there are a pair of Sith Warriors called the Inquisitors. I'm pretty sure the flash back that Rae has shows the male one who wears the big hat getting killed. Interesting if it was.

Inquisitors are not Sith. They were trained by Vader to hunt down the remaining Jedi and investigate/kidnap any force sensitive children.

They use the force. They are dark side. What's the difference between an inquisitor and a sith then ?
Do you think that was the character from Rebels being killed in Raes flashback ?

The way I understand it is Inquisitors are like secret police with high rank above most of the officers within the Empire. Sith are the ruling class of it all with there only being two at a time as per the Rule of Two.

I'd have to see it again but I'm not sure if Rey's flashback involved the death of the Grand Inquisitor who killed himself after his defeat at the hands of Kanan.

It's not the grand inquisitor in the flash back. It's the guy from season two who wears the wide rim hat. You see a light sabre strike him and see him fall with a scream. I'm sure it was him.

I got lots of mixed feelings on this one. There was plenty to like, but I came out sort of feeling like this was a lukewarm introduction into a new Star Wars trilogy. Hopefully the sequels grab me more, but at the moment I gotta say that Ep. VII might be the least captivating of all films. So much of it felt like a retread of the original Star Wars. On the plus side, the action was great and Harrison Ford is always awesome.

Ya that was dumb and didn't seem like something Luke would do. He basically pulled a Yoda, when Yoda failed at killing Sith Lord palpatine/Darth Sidious he disappears to Dagobah till death.

I wanted Luke to pull his hood back and be revealed as c***-Knocker and smash Chewy in his wookie balls.

Then go find Kylo Ren and Snoke unleash mad First Order ball crushing.

How did two people who knew nothing about lightsaber fighting do so perfectly fine fighting with lightsabers? And why and how did Rey close her eyes and mediate mid-battle saber-locked with a Sith and deus ex his rear?

Ren isn't a sith lord and is still in training.
Finn has had combat training but still got beat TWICE and Rey was shown to be good with a weapon and was losing till using the force but I would say that ended un a tie.

Ren is still learning and has never found himself in real one on one combat with another which is why the fights didn't look flashy.

He might be. The theory was always that Han was force sensitive.

How many kids do you see pretending to be Jedi with fake lightsabers? You dont think kids on other planets dont grow up play acting the same?

Fin was a brainwashed drone janitor who never playfighted, never thought about his future, and could barely hold a blaster. Rey plays with heavy full-length staffs. And they stood against trained soldiers and a Sith trained with a lightsaber. That doesn't sit right.

Not fully trained. As I said Ren is still in training and has never had a real duel before not to mention a certain Luke picked things up rather quickly.
Seems some think Luke vanishing happened near enough after Jedi..

Fin is still a trained soldier so has had combat training.

Not to mention Ren is heavily injured at that point from being shot

I notice most people in here referring to Kylo Ren as Ren. Isn't the word Ren his title ? They make reference to the Knights of Ren in the movie, of which he is one. So calling him Ren is akin to calling Vader by his title, Darth.

Ren had more training than a janitor. The Order did not train their janitor in sword fighting, much less in lightsaber combat. In fact, Fin's incompetency as a stormtropper was the running joke of the whole movie. He screamed like a little girl even. Ren on the otherhand could freeze blaster charges midflight. The combat scenes were not convincing.

And Fin was is only one part of this problem. Rey's combat scene was worse. She's fiercely locked blades with Rin, and yet she finds the time to calmly meditate while he is forcing her off of the edge of the world.

Ren has training but little combat experience and again he was badly injured before the last two fights.

She had already shown she has strong force abilities most likely due to having a powerful Jedi father....

Loved the movie. Sucks I knew Han was going to die because someone was a a**hole and posted the spoiler on another forum I go to the day before the US premier. Other than that the movie had some nice surprises. Glad they kept the movies plot so secretive. Wish more films did this with details and trailers.

Rey is struggling to keep from being shoved off the edge of the world. One single distraction costs her her life in an instant. Meditation is the ultimate distraction. It was a huge, unnecessary deus ex moment. Fiction has to be more grounded than that, or else you get Jupiter Ascending.
