Official Thread Star Wars Battlefront 2

First, list one lie I'm parroting.

This system was in the alphas and betas. We played it. We saw it before going live. There really aren't any other ways about it.

That's a lie. There were few unlocks even available early on. Some guy on Reddit made up some crap which people repeated.

You're attacking 100% factual statements as untrue for some reason. EA pulled the system before launch. You could not even put a dollar into the game until many months later. You're painting a different picture though for some reason.

Not sure what you want dude, you seem like you actually play the game, but you seem really toxic. We acknowledged the 2 year old drama existing. The problem you don't see is people in this thread who have never played the game, just parroting talking points they read online.

Does there need to be a law that we need to copy/paste an article about this 2 year old drama every time we talk about the game? It is absolutely cancel culture. You've insulted your fellow gamers who have nothing to do with EA multiple times. Over what? 2 year old drama.

My problem with the EA stuff is that gamers thought it was ok to flat out lie about something to get their point across more strongly. They made up blatant lies supposedly datamined from the game. Then you've got people in this thread who have never played the game parroting the same points. I would ask you two things: -be careful with your facts, and stop attacking gamers. If you still hold a grudge against EA, take it out on them, not on fellow gamers.

I remember people making s*** up after release. Some well known streamer I believe started saying it took too long to unlock all the characters in the game.

Yep, meanwhile people had most of the stuff unlocked in their 10 hour EA Access window. Someone out there datamined the XP cost of unlocking stuff without seeing any of the daily/weekly stuff you'd get.

If people can't ever forgive EA for trying this, that's their opinion. Stop attacking other gamers over it though.

This drama was one of the best things to happen in gaming, and one of the worst. It was great because the community stood up and said pay to win has no place in these games. It was bad though as it still turns gamer against gamer when nobody even disagrees that pay to win was bad. We're told that "it is ok to enjoy the game" yet we get attacked trying to discuss it.

The system I'm referring to, that I've labelled by name several times, the rng loot box progression, was absolutely in pre release builds and was in game at launch.

RNG-box-based progression, which persisted in game after launch, was an insulting anti-customer move, and the companies were rightly called out on it. I don't know how to make it any simpler.

I've got nothing left to repeat here. You people don't seem to understand one bit what I'm on about. Your arguments are all over the place about points I'm not even contesting.

No it wasn't in the game at launch.
LOL You couldn't even use real cash for awhile.

"EA DICE removed loot boxes from the game 24 hours before launch. "

The drama was about pay to win, and that was fixed before launch.

If free, in game loot boxes still bother you, that's your issue.

From what I remember it had crates and you could also use the currency you got from crates and playing the game to unlock skills and characters.

Really not sure how fun they can make instant action but I'll go and give it a shot. Hope to see this co-op expand over to other eras.

In due time I suppose

This only mp maps and heroes or campaign missions also?

This new edition is the game, just with every skin they've made. That's all they're selling as extra, the actual gameplay content shown off will be in the traditional free update, to be released.

Existing players can upgrade their current version of Star Wars Battlefront II to the Celebration Edition at the discounted price $24.99**, too, and get all the listed customization items above. New Appearances released on December 5 for the Clone Commando, BX Commando Droid, ARC Trooper, and the Droideka are included as well (also available separately for Credits or Crystals):

So if you buy you get all the cosmetics but otherwise you can just play the base game and everything else is free?

That sounds a lot better.

Did they ever add more starfighter assault maps? That was my favorite mode in the game.

When I got the free month of EA Access through XO19 or whatever, I decided to give this game a try again. It's alright but can be rough considering everyone else has purple everything. I also tried out the Starfighter mode since it was double XP that weekend and it was definitely fun... until the hero ships started popping up. Then instead of shredding everyone it would take 3-4 lives just to take down a hero ship on my own. Same way I feel about the regular game as well I guess. Sure hide behind your beefy character you bitch.

The guns themselves are all the same though as I remember. Those extra perks do help, but it isn't a huge advantage.

Some people are just freakishly good at this game (at least on Xbox) which is kind of weird. You've got to find which class/gun works for you too.

When in doubt too, follow a friendly hero. The hero spam gets sort of annoying towards the end of a round and sometimes games are just one sided.

Game is fun I’ve always enjoyed it. I just wish I had friends that still played it. Way better with a group.

I applaud them for still pushing out content this far down the line.
