Storage Expansion For Xbox Series X/S

Someone will make an adaptor to plug that in the back and we can pick our own memory, this sh!t here that Xbox picked was straight garbage. The next system shouldn't include HDD and add more to the hardware, let the people buy the HDD for them self.

Sony made the right call on having the ability to use regular NVMe drives. Good 1TB Gen 4 drives can be had for less than 100 dollars nowadays. I bought a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro for 75 dollars and a 2TB western digital 850X for 160 dollars a couple weeks ago for my PC.

Proprietary storage sucks.

Honestly, I don't get why XSX and PS5 users even need more space. 1TB is more enough. I have 11 games installed on my PS5 and 10 on my XSS, People aren't playing 10 games at a time.

Proprietary storage is too expensive. But I prefer it and I am willing to pay for the convenience of my plug and play storage on my Series X. I can take the card out and pop it in my other console at my cabin. If it was the non-proprietary, then not only would I have to remove the console cover and unscrew the stick to take it out and put it in my other console (and do the same disassembly), the drive would need to be formatted each time you plug it in, wiping out the storage card, therefore rendering it useless for portability.

I have s*** internet at my cabin, so it would take weeks to download a game. So I will take the Series X solution any day of the week, but I agree that it's still WAY over priced. They should knock off at MINIMUM $75 for the 1TB card, and $150 for the 2TB card.

It's more than enough FOR YOU. Some people don't want to have to redownload or reshuffle games around.

I have a 1TB storage card also but it would be just as easy for them to develop a housing that takes regular NVMe drives and can still be portable.

It already exists, the problem is that the drives that are compatible with the Series consoles are very expensive and it's a particular drive that works due to security hardware security chip on the drive.

I trust you. I don't know technology like most of you guys do. With that said, it would have been nice for Sony to have made their non-proprietary option portable as well then.

I haven't bought a drive for my PS5 yet, but I am thinking about getting a 2TB one.
