The advancement of AI in videogames from servers in the cloud and beyond.

The size of the creature, like I said, is irrelevant. With that said, have you played Skyrim? Unscripted AI isn't new to TF.

I don't care about the size of it... that map has dozens of dragons, each with unique AI, picking up grunts, roosting, etc... along with the leviathons in the background, ALL while running the 6v6 human, 12v12 if you count titans MP game at the same time. It is a pretty large feat.

Yes, I put 200+ hours into Skyrim... it doesn't have close to the AI that TF is showing.

Unscripted AI isn't new. Correct. Congrats. However, the levels and detail that TF's AI is presented with is pretty unique at that scale.

The AI in Destiny is far greater. Destiny AI is different and tough, even harder if you play in hard.

The AI in Destiny is some of the worst AI I have ever played...next to TF of course. Playing on hard seems to just make it so you can't take a many hits and you need to plug more into the AI as a sponge...making you lose your ammo quickly. The intelligence is the same though..dumb.

The AI is just that, dumb. I shot at one last night, hit him three times, and he never dropped or sought cover. Halo4, Halo Reach AI is pretty much where AI needs to be these days

AI is AI. In Skyrim, you can have a dragon, your follower, and a ton of townspeople all doing there own thing at the same time (using weapons, knowing best weapons to use, weaponless ai running for cover, etc). All that, in a large open world, not even knowing when it'll happen. In TF, you have "maps" where things like this are happening, and it's not totally happening. On maps where it happens, it happens, on maps where it doesn't....it doesn't. It's not random like in Skyrim.

You're simply not seeing the big picture in everything going on in Skyrim, because you're looking at the "size" of things that are doing what they do in TF. Size doesn't matter, it's what the AI is doing that matters.

Offloaded, unscripted A.I. is new though.
It sure is. But what would be impressive, is if the offloaded AI made room for making other things better, which the game doesn't do.

Look, I know fully well what the use of the cloud is for, and I'm not saying that using the cloud is NOT impressive. Not once did I say it wasn't impressive. What I did say, is that TF is not the best game to SHOWCASE the power of the cloud in regards to advancing what we've already seen.

So if titanfall looked like Ryse it would suddenly become uber impressive and worth shouting about ?

I know it's using a console command....but without the cloud, Skyrim CAN have a ton of dragons and other manner of AI. The dragons will all attack, fly around, perch on things, etc. All without the cloud.
Don't tell me that TF's AI is made possible only because of the cloud.

If TF could do everything it's doing, and free up resources for other things like visuals and performance, then yes, it would be impressive.

Advancement in tech should allow for more and better. Most of TF's AI is dumb, and visuals are lackluster. So, explain to me what's so impressive? What? Offloading dumb AI?

lol..thought so. So, with that being said, can you tell me how you know what resources it did or did not free up ?

It is a dude running some sort of MEGA f***ing ninja computer for Skyrim. Show me someone doing that on the console version before you can say that SKyrim can have AI like TF's on the console.

We know unscripted AI is nothing new to PC games... but for consoles, the stuff respawn did could very well overtax the system with AI scripts. who knows for sure? Either way, you are apples to oranges here.

Titanfall has terrible AI regardless of what anyway says. Nuff said.

No. But we can clearly see that while it may have freed up resources (what we don't know), it didn't make way for better visuals or better AI. The game's visuals are subpar, and for the most part, the AI is brain dead, with the exception of some maps where we see backdrop things happening.

Does it help? Sure. Once again, and I feel like I'm repeating myself...I never said using the cloud wasn't beneficial. I said using TF as a showcase of AI ADVANCEMENT does not help the cause. Some random map where a flying alien creature perches on things and swoops down to pick up a brain dead bot isn't all that impressive to me, not when we've already seen stuff like that happen years ago.

So you arent impressed because they used Cloud in a way that you wouldn't or it didnt do what you think it should have done? That makes it unimpressive in TF?

I'm not impressed because other than offloading resources, what we get in game, isn't better than what we've already seen in other games.
The visuals are sub par and the AI is dumb. What good is offloading resources if what you give us is worse than what we've seen before?

That's just my opinion, and I don't expect you to share it, but it's still my opinion. The concept of the cloud is impressive, never said otherwise....how Respawn implemented it, in my opinion, is not impressive.

We're constantly being wow'd with better visuals, destruction, AI, lighting, effects, physics, etc....why am I going to waste my time being impressive by a game that gives us borderline last gen visuals, dumb AI, sub par lighting, CoD textures, etc?

Maybe the results in TF aren't impressive at first glance or at face value, but there is a difference in TF that you dont see in other games that lies beneath the surface. Its a pretty unique title. I'll be purchasing mine in the near future.

So wait, you don't have it?
lol, I have it...trust me, the AI is brain dead. Most maps don't even have these backdrop AI doing anything. Halo games have more going on in terms of AI, massive AI battles, etc.

Yet you just said that if the A.I being offset freed up resources to improve the game it would be worth talking about. You have no clue what resources it freed up or how they were used. You make a grand assumption that it did not improve visuals or A.I and then go on to brand the A.I dumb, A.I which was purposefully made that way. The Titan A.I is fine, it no worse or better than A.I in general ( which is something I agreed with long before you joining this little clusterf***).

Also, I heard you first time in regards to A.I advancement and not once did I claim or imply this game did it in any way. I am just curious why you are making grand assumptions, why you brand the devs of telling porkies ( or at least bending the truth) all in some attempt to what...quiet a few fanboys ?

Truth is we have no clue what affect the cloud had on this game.

I got my X1 you bastard!! WHAT ELSE YOU WANT?! What?, I gotta buy all the games for it too?! :p

Wow, if I'm to believe that it's possible the game would look and run worse if not for the cloud.... lol, scary thought that the game could be worse.

Which leads me back to my original point....TF is not the best game to showcase the power of the cloud.

you can believe what ever want, but you just admitted you have no clue what affect the cloud had.
