I didn't watch any of the debates yet. I do read articles and feedback on it so thanks for doing all the hard work of slogging through it for me. Parents are camping right now so they wouldn't have watched it. When I was home the last time I saw my mom's notes on the table from the first two. All she had down for Buttigieg was "gay". They're both conservative and Christian, although not overly the top, and it seems like anti-abortion is the biggest issue. Anyways, they're both not going to support Trump (Dad for sure voted for Clinton and unfortunately I think Mom voted Trump although I don't know for sure) so I'm curious to see who they would want to vote for this time.

Democrat policies I am against.

Reparations. There are other ways to do to make up for the atrocity of slavery than checks. I'm not sure how this came to be a policy point.

Tuition forgiveness. No. Complete forgiveness? No. You want your tuition forgiven, you have to do something in return. An idea, rather than tuition forgiveness, the money owed could be used for housing purchases. You owe $200,000 in student loans? Here, here's a $200,000 mortgage. That way, money doesn't disappear, people still pay what they owe, but they are also building towards their future.

Medicare for all. While I would most definitely pay more in taxes for complete healthcare, I currently pay $5K+ a year, I fear the loss of jobs. The health insurance industry needs to be blown up, I agree, but I don't want people to lose their jobs. Have a Medicare for those that want it. Then, as people get laid off, the government needs to employ them. Healthcare should not be a profit making business.

What Marianne said about reparations was totally fair but its an issue candidates can't do anything other than lose on so I would like to never hear about it again.

I think both my parents are for Trump still.

It seems like they follow the argument of Bernie = Socialism = China / N. Korea / Venezuela

My parents still freakin watch Bill O'Reilly. Yes they subscribe to his online show. I don't know WTF they see in that asshat.

You aren't really getting Hillary 2.0 vibes because its not like you are viewing her with an open mind. You didn't like her before she even announced she was running.

I'm just as guilty about this as you are with not liking Tulsi but lets at least be honest about it.

I didn't like the way she acted during hearings but I don't like the way a lot of politicians act during hearings. She initially scored a lot of points with me during the last debate until I found out she already had t-shirts printed up before the debate to capitalize on her pre planned attack on Biden and it only got worse for her in my eyes when it came out that she was attacking him even though she holds basically the same position AND finding out that most African American's at the time were against federally forced busing as well. She was a total opportunist there, she also has lied twice about her Meidcare for all position, you can call it a mistake all you want but everyone else understood the question. I get that she's a politician and they all lie and bend the truth but her "big moment" ended up being a cheap stunt, she played the race card and acted like she was hurt by something she clearly isn't.

I think CNN did well. They controlled the debate and didn't let the talking over become an issue. They stayed away from Mueller and impeachment.

They did as well as can be expected with that format, they really should have spread these out over 3 nights IMO.

But of course it was planned beforehand. How could it not be? This is what every candidate does. They are all planning their attacks or their pivots. These aren't real debates. They are beauty pageants.

And again the raising her hand thing just continues to make no sense as a calculated move and that is the perfect example of blowing something out of proportion because you don't like them.

She's fudged on the healthcare thing TWICE! it wasn't the first time, everyone else on the stage understood the question, she's not stupid.

I can't take Gillibrand seriously, something about her just seems like she's trying too hard to be something she's not.

This is why there are too many people running because there was an actual debate there for a second and there is no time for that

I would like to see student loan debt contribute to more sizeable tax breaks. If your current debt is over X% of your current income then you get an additional tax break of Y%, or something along those lines.

Your guy Yang nailed it on healthcare there. Hopefully we'll hear from him again before closing statements.

Harris was right about people staying in jobs for the healthcare. I may have to start looking for a new job since my job doesn’t offer it and I’m paying more than $500 a month. That’s absurd.
