I wish more democrats had the balls to call out republicans for this s***. f*** the right's pearl clutching about decorum and respect. People are suffering and dying and republicans can only think about protecting businesses for failing to protect employees from dying from a virus? Business like Tyson foods that managers actively making bets on how many employees would get covid and die?

it's no longer about left vs right, it's what is right vs wrong. These are human beings.

I don't understand how the GOP base isn't up in arms over the lack of checks coming. When Trump first took office and they tried to put their junk health care plan through, their base was furious with all the cuts.

No idea why they look the other way with Mitch basically wanting to give everything to companies and nothing to everyday people.

It might be insane rugged individualism resentful at dependence on the nanny state. They would rather keep their small business open and be self reliant.

They also think its on the individual to be responsible for their health having insurance and proper diet and exercise while assuming most of the hospitalizations are undisciplined people or something. I suspect some of these people themselves are deluded and not necessarily without pre-existing condition, but feel proactive with regular prayer ( kind of a discipline ) and crank internet supplements like colloidal silver or essential oils.

There's a ton of good old denial going on as well. Some people just want to be told that "everything is ok" when it is clearly not.

This virus, global warming, it all falls into the same category. It has never happened before, and people refuse to see how bad things are. Mix in politics and it gets even worse. People dig their heels in on a narrative and that's it.
