I do enjoy RDR2, but its more entertainment package /time sink than a game, like Vikings series I am watching. GOW is a better game, & you get more enjoyable/unit time. Which there are some backtracking, long boating, it was never as bad as RDR2.

In RDR2, you ride for 30 mins/ 3mins of fun gameplay or something. Traversing is like 90% of the playtime.

The graphics of RDR2 carried the game more than people perhaps realise (IMO).

Solid show. Liked seeing Dead Cells, Forza Horizon and God of War win.

Best role playing game going to a non RPG was weird though.

Best reveals were Outer Worlds and Psychonauts 2. Didn’t know Tim Schaefer was still making games so that was a great surprise.

Below coming to Game Pass was a nice surprise.

Good job by orchestras.

Show was a bit long but decent quality. Especially when you consider where it was a few years ago.
Ha! called it.

God of War deserved GOTY honor.

RDR2 world design is unmatched but GoW executed the game part much better that kept the player having fun almost throughout. Its slow moments were a welcome rest from the frantic but fun combat while also expanding on its story. RDR2 has too many slow moments.

Agree. Think it comes down to the moment to moment gameplay. God of War was just more fun. Red Dead sometimes feels like a real job that I’m grinding through to see the next cut scene.

I was surprised how many games I added to my "Games of Interest" list (8 ). That's as much as I add after most E3's.

Consider me part of the problem lol, I’m a Far Cry junkie. Have loved every game except Primal, which was just good.

New Dawn is already preordered.

I've enjoyed every game too. They just do open world FPS games right, even if they are similar. I loved every minute of FC5.

It isn't always a bad thing for them to find a formula that works and stick with it.

I agree that GOW is better than RDR2, but I enjoyed Shadow of the Tomb Raider much more than GOW.

I wish I had jumped on the Black Friday sale for Tomb Raider. If its marked down again I'll be all over it. It was nice to see Forza Horizon 4 take best in class for driving games. That's another title I'm circling, too many games not enough time.

A little confused how Monster Hunter: World took best RPG. Its an awesome game that gave me dozens of hours of enjoyment but I don't really think of it as a RPG. Hmmmm, maybe the RPG category is getting too broad and needs to be a bit more specific.

It's like a mix of Mass Effect combat in first person and Fallout/Borderlands/Starfield. Seems like they're in a good position for fans.

I just want to see them create an animation to holster the gun and I’m all set. Won’t need to see anything else.

I think I'm at Far Cry fatigue point now. They really need to untether the co-op in that series too. Felt like you couldn't more than 50' away without getting warped back to your partner. It was especially infuriating when in vehicles

I got tired of the Far Cry formula during #5, but my enjoyment returned when I played Far Cry: Primal. This is a spinoff like Primal was, so I'm hoping I'll enjoy it.

Me too. It doesn't help that this new one looks like a poor man's version of Rage 2, which looks amazing, imo.

God of War had superior gameplay and mechanics. RD2 was good but the flaws are heavily overlooked in reviews.

You spend 30 minutes riding? That would get you from one side of the map to the other.
It’s more a ratio of traversal vs gameplay. 10:1

Even when you are not free roaming to get to some places maked white or yellow, most story missions started with you long ass riding with your buddies to location. Should allow a skip button so we get direct to the destination & get to the gameplay, or make them cutscenes so after some dialogs, direct us directly to location, Instead of the full ride.

I want action game with horse riding, not a horse riding game with action.

Outer worlds looks like a better fallout.rage 2 looks interesting.

Never a fan of MK. I always thought the characters models looks ugly( as in poorly modeled) and animations stiff compare to other fighters.

I haven't played RDR 2 yet, but that complaint fits my experience with other Rockstar games -- long, fairly dull trips to the mission site. The problem (at least in earlier GTAs) was compounded by a stingy checkpoint system, so that if you failed the mission, you'd have to travel the same route all over again.

Bought it at xbox live black friday sale, about half way through, game about as good as the earlier games. Much less combat which I don't mind. Only thing that felt immediately bad is the piranhas and muray that you need to stealth through under water, just a really bad, frustrating gameplay choice to incorporate imo. Otherwise a great game.

RD2 better value and tons of gameplay than GoW

God of War has a 40 hour campaign, RDR2's campaign is great and lengthy as well but it's inflated by the traversal time. Both are amazing games and both would have been deserving winners regardless of who won.

They left PS4 off of the Stranger Things game but that was an easy mistake to make because they weren't mentioned as part of the cross play on stage. It has been announced for all platforms and a streamlined version for mobile as well.

Btw, Crash Team Racing is multiplat. I thought it might be time-limited PS4 exclusive like Crash was, but no, it's coming to Xbox and Switch as well.

"... many also wanted a similarly remade version of the 1999 kart racer starring every gamer's favorite bandicoot. Their wishes have been granted: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is slated to release June 21 for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

This version of the game is rebuilt from the asphalt up and includes everything that came in the original game, plus new karts and tracks. Also, the whole thing has modern graphics, online play, and new character- and kart-customization options."

It'll be $40.

Fornite has even more value (literally free), & more gameplay, considering people have put 1000s of hours into it still playing, & still contents coming out frequently.

GOW is a tighter game, & you get more exciting & fun per unit time. RDR2 has a lot of boring stuff (the long ass everything from crafting (individual bullets really), force walking, to horse & coach riding before something exciting happened, then back to more boring stuff.

I am fairly sure, when it hit PC, one of the most popular mod is improved fast travel.
