What I love is that the complaints of sexism and such are all the cards Neil was gonna play after he had our money. Guaranteed he had that Cobain quote lined up for months. Now he has to play the victim now but everyone can also cancel their preorders. So awesome!
Here is what I see happening. They found out who leaked the footage and according to reports today they don’t work for Sony/ND. However they didn’t just hack in and get this much access and I believe someone in ND dumped this info to the leaker.The leaker will be questioned and he will give up someone in ND.

Yeah I've read the plot and I believe nuances and details matter yet I struggle to think of any way this works out. What you mentioned is a big one but the when, how and other aspects surrounding it also bother me. Doesn't really feel anything close to any story I could've hoped for and sometimes the elements of surprise and subverting expectations aren't a good thing.
Taking control of the person who does it for half the game is not the story I'm interested in. I expected one of the main characters to die but the execution and follow up sounds terrible. It would've been like after Joffrey beheaded Ned Stark, you're forced to watch the rest of the show from his standpoint and feel sorry for him.

I still plan to pick this up. My hesitancy lies with before all this controversy, I didn't think TLOU needed a sequel and I'm still not sure how Sony is going to handle backwards compatibility and their smart delivery system.( As in I'm not buying TLOU 2 remaster on the PS5). But now knowing the spoilers, I'm curious as to the journey of how we get from point A to point B. Should be interesting.

I saw a few short video clips today, I'm softening my stance a little bit because I think they may be doing a decent enough job with the story to make what they've done easier to handle. I still think this whole thing should have been saved for a 3rd game and built things up in a sequel but it's hard to say for sure since I haven't played this game yet and supposedly it's the longest game ND has ever made.
Does it matter who physically leaked the info? Its like a shiny object to shift goalpost.
Unless ND can claim it was a hacker (Because hackers go around leak game info...), then the original source must have come from employee(s).
Anyway, I wanted to point out how horrible ND & many developers are exploiting workers to work long hours, by paying them less than market value, & withholding their pay as a form of after-release-bonus.
This prevent them from quitting.
In my previous jobs, I had work 70+ hours week (with no extra pay)as well as work overnight til morning. This is not sustainable & I can tell you. Worse, it doesn't improve productivity especially creative, intellectual work.
The longer you work, the more mistakes you make. Now you wonder why so many games shipped buggy?

I’m afraid if the rumours are true about how woke this game is, ND are finished. It seems to me that all the companies that go woke tend to double down on the wokeness. We can only hope that eventually the shareholders will insist heads will roll and new directors are put in place. I find this far left politics as divisive and repulsive as far right politics. Why are these companies so insistent on forcing their extreme politics on us?
First and foremost Neil Cuckmann.....errr Druckmann needs to be fired. The entire SJW or "woke" story starts and ends with him.

Isn't that the case with most hackers, they do it because they can. It's always annoying, just like those a******s that kept doing those DDOS attacks on XBL and PSN earlier in the generation. These people need to find something better to do with their time and talent lol.
I believe it was hackers simply because this action would be deflating to just about everyone who worked there, they are finally about to launch the game they've been working hard on and I'm sure mostly want to see good scores an hit sales targets for bonuses etc and then this happens and puts all of that in jeopardy. Kotaku already ran a story about their working conditions so the stuff is out there and yes some kind of change needs to be made at that studio, most studios have the same problems although it sounds like ND may be a little worse in some regards and that should be addressed.

I'm almost thinking we should have a spoiler thread so we can all talk freely lol.
The only reason I'm sort of softening up is because the clips I saw which were very short made me feel sympathy for that character. Now how we get there matters and how much time was invested in telling the story properly will decide if it's something I can accept overall.
You know those terrible sonic the hedgehog fan fiction crap.... those people wrote the story for this based on the leaks.
