Really enjoyed that and it's making me want to play some Silent Hill again.

Positives: the environments are beautifully detailed and look photorealistic. The dual world game mechanics are quite clever. Concept of a character that straddles two worlds is fascinating.

Negatives:
First off, there needs to be a trigger warning re: sexual abuse of children. I know this game is fiction, but having worked in the legal field in this area, even fictional stories are difficult for me to see. I understand however not everyone shares that sensitivity towards that topic.
Regarding the graphics, despite the incredible environments, the characters' faces are not animated well, if at all. They maintain the same, blank expression. Some of the camera shots in the cutscenes are terrible, backfocusing, or otherwise leaving the character's face out of focus (perhaps intentional to hide the lack of facial animation). There are areas in the game where all you do is walk and the narrative plays out. I'd rather just watch an extended cutscene than relive a Mass Effect 3 type of gameplay. The story is fairly convoluted and requires you to read every single collectible to fully grasp it (or maybe I just lost interest). Lastly, on my powerful PC (5900x/3080), the ray tracing would choke the frame rates to single digits at times. Completely unacceptable, so I had to turn off ray tracing. And this was only at 1440p with DLSS.

Tagged the spoiler.

The graphics aren't going to blow anyone away but for a less than 7m budget I though it was fine.
The main thing was always the split screen feature.

It also has a warning at the start of the game about sensitive subjects

"Sensitive subjects" is too general. The devs did something similar with Blair Witch,
where they had you carry your dying dog forever while he was whimpering.
I don't think I'll play another game from these devs.

Yeah it's going to be a subject many would prefer to do without.

But they don't show anything just give you the clues.

Bit odd...

that some are saying they try to make you feel sorry for the abuser. The show he feels bad and had an abusive childhood but it didn't make me feel bad about what happened to him

And some even saying Thomas ended up abusing Lilianne in a sexual way which clearly isn't the case

I have no issue with the subject matter of the game. It's tough but essential to the story.

As far as the ****** in Blair Witch? As an animal lover it was tough listening to that but as weird as it may sound, it drew me closer both of those characters.

Finished this one finally, I actually didn’t know it was a walking simulator before I started and I never shook the disappointment. Overall not bad for what it was though

The game looks meh but if it's free on ps+, I'll give it a try.

I was pleasantly surprised for Control, just beat it yesterday and had some fun with it. If it was not on PS+, I probably would've skipped it.

Dang, it was that bad?

Nope. Just many didn't realise it was a walking Simulator going in.
Solid story and characters carry it though especially Troy Baker's The Maw. But it had the issue of being a timed Xbox exclusive so was dismissed by some.

It will suddenly be a good game......
Goes both ways, Xbox gamers who swore up and down it was going to be amazing will now say "no big loss" lol Either way it has always looked mediocre, they got peoples attention with that initial trailer that had no gameplay in it but once they actually showed the game it was clear to me it wasn't going to be good, the walking animations alone looked like something from the PS1/PS2. I wasn't interested in it when it was timed exclusive and I'm not interested in buying it now.
