The Official: Automotive enthusiast thread

Yup, my new iPhone 15 Pro is wonky as f*** in my BMW wireless charger. It had to stop charging the other day and was HOT as heck too.
You can still do CarPlay wirelessly while using the USB port….I dono bout you but I prefer the audio to be run through the cable than wirelessly, which they brought back that option, even though you can, but you can’t use CarPlay wired.

I am usually listening to Sirius/XM. I rarely use my wireless charging anyway, but I just happened to be using it this weekend. I have my cable plugged into one of the USB C ports in the center console when my phone is getting WAY down. And by WAY down, I mean 50% 😂

Living on the edge I see, or if you’d go by numbers alone, midlife crisis?

They should be glad they have a job, f*** em I say.

I am quite curious about this. I'm at the 6:36 minute mark.

I want the Hummer to win. Imagine wanting a Hummer to beat any other vehicle in a drag race.

Hummer already wins because of crab walk. But we'll see.

I would never buy either of these, but Musk can derelict my balls, and that Hummer is stupid fast considering its weight. Can the Tesla, which looks like a Deloreon in the worst way possible, actually win?

Many sites and magazines call the hummer the most inefficient electronic vehicle.

Don’t get me wrong it looks cool in person, but something about is lacking, it’s huge but doesn’t have a presence like some cars just make your head turn.

I feel that if GM takes the battery outta the hummer and puts it in something better designed and engineered, like maybe a caddy then it could be something special.

This guy has some cool insight and takes but he comes across as have only driven a truck since maybe the 70s. Modern trucks are fast, quiet and comfortable….Chevy and gmcs would be at the bottom of my list tho.

Long but interesting

But if you just want to see a race…

Yeah I saw (but haven't watched) a lot of those videos on the Tesla truck. I'm not spending 41 minutes watching Top Gear video on it because I honestly don't like it.

I also don't like Hummer's, never have, but can fully admit the crab walk feature is freakin' cool.

Also think neither of these vehicles have any business having that type of acceleration given their weight and size and lack of aerodynamics......and yet there it is. Absolutely nuts. I'm impressed and can admit that. Yet I hate Tesla's they've become so vanilla and I also no longer believe that full EV is actually environmentally friendly at all.

Current ev tech can be bad, primarily the batteries. There is some aero to it, both necessary and intentionally. There’s a lot of cool tech to the cybertruck that, much of it, will eventually be in all their cars that’s definetly better for the environment, like batteries or motors that use little to no rare earth materials

I just don't think full EV can work worldwide. It's just not possible.

There's some cars out there these days that have small batteries and small range, and to me that makes a lot of sense. Like a combustion engine car that can do say 50K (not sure what that is in miles) so you can run your local errands etc, and the braking can actually charge that lighter smaller battery when it switches to the combustion engine.

Then there's carbon neutral synthetic fuel. Expensive to produce now but then so were EV's

I think there's maybe a future where we have hybrid cars, that use synthetic fuel, and hopefully find the right balance for different places in the world.

Fully electric vehicles just aren't gonna work in some countries. Like hell, there's places in Africa where their electricity comes from a big barge boat out in the sea that's running on diesel to provide elctricity to their s***ty grid that only the richer can afford.

We're all screwed anyway there's no coming back from the "global warming" It was probably too late 40 years ago.

edit: I also think solar power is still something really important for the world.

I don't like this Tesla Cybertruck, it's bothering me.

I'm gonna have to go have a real hard look at my piece of s*** 2009 Chevy Cobalt LT and really contemplate things. And I'm not even trying to be funny here.

Fark!

Buy a scion im? Or civic hatch? From the 2010s maybe 2016 and up when back up cameras became mandated
