Well this thread took a turn. cmstophe hang in there bud.

I’m good, I’m just that weird person who would rather bad s*** happen to me than people I love. Because then I feel like I have some sort of control. A lot of you know I got shot 4 times and left for dead about 7 years ago, honestly I would rather go through that again than see my brother’s family broken up like this.

Anyway, they are the ones who need the well wishes, but much appreciated brother.

That speaks volumes... she's a piece of s*** and her sexual preference has nothing to do with it. You don't behave that way when you have four YOUNG children. Her priorities are backasswards...out dating a day after splitting up the family, inexcusable. Yet the world will pat her on the back and call her "brave".
Yepp, pos human, should not get a dime from the divorce if this reality was fair.

cmstophe brother will get over her, but that they have kids will definitely bring a new level of pain.

Unforunately. we live in a world where the guy is default the bad person in marriage or anything involved the opposite sex. Anyone that even considered maybe we should hear both sides will be lebeled as sexist or worst & shamed.

We are living in post rational world. Feelings & advancing narrative matters more than facts. Not offending or making people feel bad is more important than solving problems.

Decide to try some RC car for fun.

Heard a good thing about this car so I bought it, as an entry-level model. If I like the hobby, I can invest something new, if not, its just 106€ (its still quite a sum, but not that bad)

Yeah, knew somebody would latch onto it with this viewpoint, but in her words this is something new. Not a case where she has been living another life for decades. Again, her words, not mine.

She isn’t lazy in any way. One of the smartest people I’ve met, too. But with zero professional work experience and job or career, my brother will now be forced to support her along with the kids. I’d be a pretty cold person to not worry about my own brother in such a situation, and frankly she is probably a distant third on my list of concerns. She went on a date a day after asking for separation.

Even saying that it doesn’t seem contentious at all. Which is a positive. Just a sad situation all around.
I don't think its wrong to go on a date the day after but you got to keep that under the radar so nobody knows you are doing just to be respectful.

It was 87 in my house yesterday. Once I cranked on a little portable a/c, I got it down to 84. Humidity is basically Florida heat. I don't even know how people deal with triple digits. We're equipped to deal with cold and snow, not this.

Blows my mind how people survive without AC, or at least window units. Here in Richmond VA we get all four seasons, and summer is especially bad. 90%+ humidity and at least 90 most days in the summer. Electric bill can be high, but it's absolutely worth it. Gonna be 97 with 95% humidity today. Bump all that noise

Up here we have hot water heat that has no ductwork for easy a/c install.

Most of my windows are just crank out of odd shaped and don't fit a window a/c (I do have one in the bedroom so it isn't awful). I have one of those portable ones but those things are just awful.

Typically, it just doesn't make sense to invest a ton in a/c when we typically get maybe a handful of days that are actually "hot" but the way the weather is going I may need to rethink that. I mean here in Buffalo we didn't even hit 90 the past 2 summers, but then you get one like this and suddenly it is 90 and 70 dewpoint every day.

We're nice and toasty and prepared for the snow come winter though. ;)

Just ate lunch. According to the website for the place I got my lunch from, 1 serving is 580 calories.

It is a southwestern burrito bowl.

I am not sure if 580 calories is the entire bowl or like 1/2 lol.

Definitely was not enough roasted chicken in the bowl for 80grams of protein as the nutrition on the website states there is 40 grams of protein for 580 calories.

I am going to go with the entire bowl was 580 calories based on that haha. Definitely doesn't feel like I ate 580 calories though.

Probably actually ate double that.

580 kcal is a baby lunch

Thanks man! Was really happy to get it done, as it's the furthest I've ran since September when I did some serious ligament damage to my left hamstring.
I try to do a tough mudder every year but covid messed up my rhythm! You just reminded me I need to do another one. Gotta wear socks this time. Tore all the skin off my arch last time. Had to run the last 6 miles that way. Was torture.

I figure I do not really enjoy running, & walking is too boring.

So I just decide to play either basketball or football (soccer for 'Mericans) instead of 1-1.5 hours almost daily. Sometimes I can find teams to play with, otherwise, I can play alone. It's more about burning fat & improves my fitness.

But like they said, exercise is only half the job, the other half is diet. I stop eating after dinner, & I usually have early dinner (5-7pm). If I dom I eat an apple or orange.

I am seeing the result, but still a long way to my goal of lean 6 pack & <%14 body fat. I am not sure I will hit it, but its important to have a goal.

Interestingly, I am looking about 70% to the body on the left now. I am seeing the form, but still too much fat, especially on the tummy.
After hitting it, I will push for something similar to the boy on the right.

You should try boxing. Nothing beats that for fun burning calories. Just spend a half hour on a heavy bag a few times a week

I was back working in the office yesterday and I just have to rant. There's hardly anyone around with the US holiday coming, so I figure quiet day. Nope! 2 people at my cube first thing in the morning frantic. Neither can get their laptop hooked up to their dock and are panicking. Long story short, neither of them bothered to reboot.

Later on I get a super snarky e-mail "do we have any printers that work in this entire building???". My mood is already off, but you never know. Maybe something is wrong. I check the server and everything is fine. I walk over to the printer and it says "tray 1 empty".

I sent back a sarcastically "nice" reply. "I loaded some paper in it, try it now, maybe that will fix the problem!" (the jobs obviously started printing the minute I loaded the paper).

F me I hate people and I hate my job. I don't even support any end users, these are all programmers and database admins. The only reason we do our support in house is because IT people aren't supposed to ask the constant dumb questions. 2 out of 3 of these people make way more money than me too (including paper in the printer guy).

Where I used to live, a local independent gym close to my apartment actually had some heavy bags and before that at another gym I tried a standing Strike Bag. I tried boxing and really enjoyed it.

For real, drop some Mick Gordon DOOM music and let off job stress.

Where I live now, none of these franchise gyms have any boxing gear at all. I would really enjoy heavy bag, but live in an apartment so not sure if that would be to noisy.

I have VR, but have been skeptical about VR Boxing games since there is no physical resistance; maybe I should try it though.

Or, I could get a lite weight style Strike Bag thing and just carry it in to my apartment gym.

That sucks man. I'm sure VR boxing (essentially shadow boxing) can get the heart going, but I can't imagine sweating that much with a headset. Getting all fogged up and slick on the face, not to mention the smell, lol.

I love heavy bag work because it gives some necessary strength and resistance training too- practicing distance and contact as well as footwork. I had a heavy bag in my garage during the Lockdowns, but as soon as the gyms opened up (last April here in TX), I was back in. I used to shake my whole house, and I worried about cracking the support beam in the garage. I even broke the chain on a couple bags at the gym because they wear the rings down over time, lol.

If anyone else reading this tries heavy boxing make sure to get some kind of Wrist Wraps.
I don't wrap my wrists at all or wear full gloves, but I took the time to train up my wrists. I can go full force no problem.

I just wear slip on heavy bag gloves to keep the skin from tearing. I find that I don't like how boxing gloves align my wrists. I do have to replace those gloves once a month because they break down.

It teaches bad habits if you want to throw punches in real life. It's fine if you are just in it for the exercise, though. I used to train MMA so I also like to work kicks, elbow, knees, and such. The bags at my gym are large and about 120 lbs.
