Well, I be happy to watch ESPN to see Team USA lose their next 3 friendly to random basketball teams, & I have not watch basketball for a long time.
Schadenfreude :ycry:

On as serious note I think rest of the world is catching up to US in basketball & there is no easy game anymore. Same with Football (Soccer). Even small European teams & far Eastern teams (like Japan & Korea) regularly give the big boys run for the money.

Also, isn't this person. Stephen A Smith, that after Team USA lost to Nigeria, make fun of Nigerian players' names, & had to issue an apology later. That & making bezzar comments on a Japanese MLB player for needing a translator.

He's trying to trend. He's going to lose. He'll be fired very soon.

I like Nicholas Cage. I think he did a decent job on Ghostrider. He is okay, if he put on a wig. His natural hair is barzar.

Cage works if paired with the right project and director. I thought Ghostrider was awful, but I don't think it was Cage's fault. He did what he could and of course he couldn't see how the visual FX would play out in Post and sometimes that trips up actors.

He rocked as Big Daddy in KICKASS though.

I kind of wonder what would happen if Cage was given a role in the current big MCU flicks. I think he would be great as one of the Elders of the Universe type characters so far played by Benicio Del Toro and Jeff Goldblum.

From recent years Cage was also really good in Bad Lieutenant and Joe.

Video I took of a kid playing my RC car in the playground.
I made a makeshift "track" with mini traffic cones. Obviously, the kiddo (some neighbor's kids) did not care about it. As long as he was having fun, & he did.

after some cone setups, I have some ideas for making better tracks, like adding ramps & artificial barriers but haven't found the right & portable materials yet.
There are some RC tracks, but the one near my place has been closed for a while, & others slightly further due to corona.
I will make better videos of RCing in the future, but this will have to do now.

I have seen people do vids with a GoPro on their car. That might be fun to try if you happen to have an action camera.

Gotta find an open paved area and let that baby rip! Looks like it could get some serious speed

Didn't figure you a 15 yo lol

I sometimes think of getting a drone but I'm not sure where I'd take it to fly. 🤷‍♂️

Could go to the beach or the pier close by, but don't want the wind to catch and take a couple hundred bucks into the water.

I am not sure drone is fun (you have to try I guess), but for sure go for taking ariel shots.

Get a drone and take it for a spin on the beach. Does Germany have nude beaches?
I do not think it's allowed (taking video of people nude without permission). I am not a beach person, but maybe, but I expect mostly elderly.

For a second I thought you were the kid in the video and it confused me lol. That's a fast RC you got there.
I edited my poor writing so it's clear. I wished I was a kid again, but unfortunately, I am not a kid. The RC was supposed to be able to hit 60km/h or 37mph stock. I have to set the throttle power (via controller) to about 60-70% to be able to control it, even so I barely squeeze fully the throttle except for straight.

Its a good starting model to get into hobbyist RC, I heard many good things about it before buying it. I used to have a Tamiya RC car, so I have an idea of build quality. The builds quality (metal base, suspensions etc), complexity, power is so much better at such an amazing price.
It was supposed to be a Chinese copy of an existing model, but you cannot knock the build quality, & I am a mechanical development engineer IRL, so I can at least tell good from badly assembled parts.

I am thinking of getting a crawler like the Traxxas TRX4, as in an RC car more focus on climbing terrain than go fast, allow me to enjoy group hiking (which I enjoy) with RC. Its not cheap though at over 500€

Here is a video of crawler convoy in action. Due to crawlers not focus on speed (typically 5mph), not to mention less likely to get hard crush (being slow), alot of people deck out & personalized their crawlers like the popular land rover defender base you see & more in this video.

Definitely looks like they were having a good time...props to you for giving "some neighbor's kids" the opportunity to enjoy some RC action.

I took my son to the local sand dunes this morning with his 1/8 scale Arrma Typhon buggy. It absolutely rips with a good set of paddles. My apologies for the poor video quality...

I've been flying large scale aerobatic RC planes for the past 15 years as well. Now I've got my son and daughter hooked on rc cars, planes, and drones...you're never too old for this hobby!

That's so awesome! Great video! You guys are making me want to get into this stuff. I am going to look into this. This is a hobby my son would love and it would get him off his cellphone for a change.

I mean this with no disrespect, but

HOW THE f*** DO YOU NOT LIKE THE BEACH!? IT'S MY HAPPY PLACE GOD DAMNIT
I did not don’t like the beach, just no particular love. I did 2 „grown ups“ holidays with my buddies in beach like jetski and banan boat, skoing a few years ago.

We barely able to get together since we are ,1000s miles apart now since our school days.

I used to lived 10 mile from the beach but barely goes there back when I lived in Singapore. But the beach were not appealing as the water is dirty and Brown.

in Germany, the coasts Stretch the north and Baltic Sea, which ain’t known for being warm. So often people go overseas for breaches or make artificial sand „beaches„ in lakes . I went to one a few weeks ago. Maybe I upload it if I have time.

RC hobby is nice as it an outdoor activity that can be enjoy by group and family. Great way to meet other people and your kids may make some other kids friends. Just start with an affordable model like the one I post earlier ( but you can check with your kid) .

When I got to the “1000s…” part I thought you were gonna say “1000s….of years old”

Aw yeah that stinks. I still live 90 miles from the beach, but grew up 20 miles from it. Used to spend every day there growing up, now I'm lucky if I can get there twice a year. Getting old is for the birds

Sometimes it's really frustrating. Things that I thought are simple turned out having to argue over.

Anyway, I was playing a Battle Royale team match with an IRL friend. When he looted something nice, he will pin it, then call out.
The issue for me is, for reasons unknown, he would give half description of loot. He will say " do you need a purple?" "found a blue" instead of you know " I found a blue SMG", or "purple shotgun"

So in the heat of the game, he again pinned something & remarked " you need a purple?"
I asked "Purple what?"
He said " I already pin it"

So I told him, it will be nice if he said a complete statement like a blue SMG or green AR or whatever. If I do not need it, I do not need to look for it.

He took it personally or something & insisted he already pinned it, & I can see what he pinned.

So I tried to explain he already speak, why made 1/2 the description etc

He got even angrier & said he will not be pinned or tell in about any loot in the future so he do not have to "deal with it"

I told him, I wanted him to ID things for me (& everyone else), & It wasn't personal, & its part of playing as a team.

He ranted that he played only for himself.

I got frustrated & just quit the game & made tea, leaving him & another friend. I do feel bad for leaving themselves a member short but I just cannot take it mentally. Why did something I thought reasonable & trivial turned into a ridiculous argument?

Maybe I am too insistent to explain to him & he took it the wrong way.

It's sad what was a nice & fun game turns sour over super trivial points....

Your first mistake… Fortnite. I kid I kid.

We have known each other since our teens. We could not get together these days due to living far apart. Playing together is a way to "meet up" & catching up with stuff.

We were having fun & sht talk but everything went south over a trivial request to name the type of loot, not just the color. How is the request demanding? If you already called out color of the loot, why not alos tell me the type of loot?

Imagine it's like someone asked if you like some tea or coffee over the coffee shop (which is nice), you said, nice, I have a tea with sugar. He came back with tea, but not the sugar. So you ask, thanks, but can you request sugar in my tea next time. Then he went nuts & said he could have not asked me for an order & he was already being nice to ask, & do not have to listen to your demand. Next time he will not ask me if I wanted anything so he does not have to "deal with it".
That is what I felt. A reasonable request turned into a mountain of sensationalism. If it is a random person, it would be fine, but imagine its your good friend since childhood. Wouldn't you feel a bit disappointed?
