Do yourself a favor and download the alternate costumes for Yen and Triss ;) the witcher gear from the DLC you can craft are pretty good.

I just downloaded all the free DLC. Impressive! I thought it was just going to be skins and little nothings. Most of them were additional quests. Thanks, CD Projekt Red. Very generous.

How do you access or select the alternative looks for Yennifer and Triss, btw?

Not sure on other platforms, on PC, its under Downloaded Content.

I only just downlaoded Triss alt, not seen her in in yet, but Yen's Alt is awesome.

Yeah, there aren't many hair/beards, but I think there were only 3 before.

The DLC is in the game store on XBL under Add-ons. Just look up The Witcher 3
Sorry, I meant it's hard to find the DLC in the game, once dl'd. You apparently have to go to certain merchants to buy the armor. I wish it would've just put them right into your inventory to either wear or sell.

They just start wearing the alt costumes once dl'd, there isn't anywhere to choose to switch them. I think you'd have to delete that dlc if you wanted to change them back
You can choose in the settings actually. There is in fact an option for turning on and off the alt costumes.

This game wins the "Most Spitting in an RPG" award.

A good site to find the DLC goodies. I happened across most of the quests and gear without the guide at notice boards, merchants and question marks.

I probably shouldn't of suggested going to all the question marks because now my guy is overpowered making most fights i come across too easy as i only have a handful left in Velen. And mostly ocean marks in Skellige. Like Starseeker said only if they are on the way to the objective.

They look much more striking in the alternate ones as opposed to a traditional look. Looking forward to sinking a few hours in tomorrow.

Did you go out of your way to find and craft gear (e.g., Witcher gear)? I'm leaving that alone for now. I'll craft an occasional piece, but I'm not going out of my way or doing any of the Witcher gear quests, because I feel like what I come across in the field is good enough. I've actually been a little surprised at how easy the game has been -- not always, but often. I don't want it to become too easy.

Well, the problem with that is that we'll miss out on the discussion of the game. It's nice to be a part of that initial excitement, when everyone is playing a new game for the first time. I don't know if I want to miss out on that, with Fallout. It worked out well for Witcher, but there were other circumstances that caused me to delay. I may end up getting Fallout at release after all. I'm still undecided.
Andy,

All of my good armor and weaons I have acquired have come from either finding them or from completed quest rewards. Most of the armor/weapons I have crafted have not been no where near as good verses what I have come across. However I still have alot of armor and weaons I can craft, but am missing the necessary materials.

Just finished up doing all of the horse racing competitions which was the most challenging things for me so far because I have a tough time controlling that damn horse. Its like roach has a mind of his own. He will just spontaneously stop in the middle of the track for no reason. Then i have to restart. The other night i spent over an hiir trying to win a ceetain important race. Ugh... However the saddle I won was well worth it.

Pretty sure the voice actor for Priscilla is the same person who voiced Sara in DA:I. I recognize that laugh.

I actually find the "?" enjoyable in that they feed my desire to just go out and wander and explore the world. I find it fun to just set out into unexplored territory and see what's there. That's one of the big pulls of an open-world RPG for me. I spent the last couple days just running around doing 80% of the "?" on the west side of Velen. I like seeing parts of the world I have no idea about, seeing how far I can go or if I can survive. Eventually, once I'd circled from a point north to a point south, I got tired of it, and I headed back to the main quest, but it was a good break. Otherwise, the game feels too linear to me, and I don't really get a sense of the open world.

Okay, I looked for it today but couldn't find anything. Where do you find the option to change their outfits?

You can't use the Option menu within your game. You have to quit out of your game and go to the Main Menu. Then, I believe there is an option for Downloadable Content, and it'll be there. At least that's the way it works on PS4.

The enhanced Witcher gear i have crafted (just the armor) is far better then any other armor i have come across, except for heavy armor i have found. But i am sticking with medium armor for the stamina regeneration which makes a MASSIVE difference in fights. However i keep finding better swords on witcher contracts.

Yeah i just did them in clusters, came across some interesting stuff, but i suppose you will be overpowered no matter how you play it just because of the sheer amount of content and the ease of levelling up.

Hit a slow patch in the main quest. Novigrad. Lots of running back and forth across the city to trigger cutscenes, with an occasional fight or use of the Witcher senses. Run here, run there. It seems like nothing ever resolves or comes to completion; it just keeps on going: find this guy, now find that guy, now find the other guy... It's getting a bit tedious. I want it to get to the point already.

Didn't think of that! Thanks!

This game is so full of options!

Yeah, on that portion I was breaking that tedium up by doing some contracts and exploring. I've probably got 90 percent of the ? Marks in Velen/Novigrad. Have a ton left in Skellege off land though. I'm definitely cleaning up in the game now.

I've got all of the witcher armor sets with me. Some superior versions too. I usually change armors to suit my mood, and stay with the witcher sets unless I find something amazing. They just look cooler, lol. Then I upgrade the armor when it's time.

I've got a good 25000 crowns now, and tons of precious stones and dust. Love this game. Geralt is so cool :D

It never ends. That's the mark of any great RPG. It just keeps going and going.

I don't even know what i'm doing in this game right now. I'm just enjoying the hell out of it while it lasts. The Summer of The Witcher!

That's not a good thing, at least not to me. I don't like it when plots drag or feel padded out.

That's what I've done, too -- gone off to do some of the sidequests.

Do you find it useful to have all of the Witcher armor, or do you think just having a single set is good enough? I ask because I'm thinking of just getting the medium armor set. I don't have any of them so far. Haven't really felt the need.

Useful? Probably not, lol. I usually just roll with the Bear Armor. Works great. I guess it takes a little longer to regen stamina, but it hasn't been an issue yet. I keep the others because the unlock at different times, so I can use better armor. I like to use the Witcher armor mainly for lore purposes, I guess. It fits him. Pretty much all of the light armor looks hideous too. As you upgrade the armor, it looks different, so there is that as well. I need to find more Wolf diagrams, but they are a little over my level. I've only got enhanced. It's kinda difficult to keep track of it all, but I'm at a point where I can just carry it around with me.

How can you carry all that armor with you? My inventory always seems to be at plus 60, I like to keep heaps of runestones and glyphs as i am forever upgrading.

Also remember people when upgrading your character choose the light, medium or heavy class upgrade for a good bonus in your armor set.

I can carry 160. 120 is pretty much used up for all my stuff, lol. I've got plenty of money, though, so I don't need to pick up everything. I drop the less expensive stuff a lot. Of course not many vendors can afford what I'm lugging around!

I'm a lvl 27 Geralt now :D

Screw this card game. If i wanted to play Pokemon or Magic The Gathering i would. I just want my achievements.

Just finished "The Play's the Thing" quest. Funny stuff, enjoyed that bit. That must've been a headache, translating those rhyming couplets into 15 different languages and making it work.

I'm finding it hard to not be over-levelled. I pretty much have to leave everything else alone and just focus on the main quest, or else I stay way ahead of where I need to be for the main quest. I'm level 17 and doing level 11 and 12 main quest stuff. I'm getting 5 XP right and left for completing long-ass questlines, which is kind of a let down, after all that work. Oh well.

Where is that line, btw? That is, how far above the recommended quest level do you need to be, before you get 5 XP rather than the usual amount? Seems like it's about 4 levels above, something like that?

Well i was wrong thinking i was almost done with the game after all the Skellege stuff. 20 hours later still not finished. I would definitely start focusing more on the main quest or you're going to still be playing this game this same time next year. Lol

I'm definitely Op now- lvl 28 on level 22 story, lol. I find the side quests interesting enough without needing the xp (I'm already overpowered! Don't need higher level! )

I love the bear armor. The cloth sim on it is awesome :D
