http://www.cnbc.com/id/101124386 Microsoft's console is number one in ABI console assessment.
Sony fell to second in the game console assessment in part because key PlayStation 4 (PS4) differentiators like cloud gaming are still untested (and won’t be fully available at launch), but largely because Microsoft has shown more features on the broader entertainment front (e.g. hybrid premium/OTT services). Nintendo secured the third position but a significant gap remains between it and market leaders.

Agreed. MS really is taking a much different approach to this next gen than Sony is. For me, I'm interested in all the new stuff they're bringing to the table. Hence why I'll be opening up an X1 box on Nov 22nd.I am sure this thread will end up a fight but i don't see the problem with this report, even if you're a PS4 customer. If the xbox additional features like snap, kinect, and whatever else it has were largely considered (like the quote i have below says) then i am not surprised X1 edged the PS4 in this assessment. For those that are not interested in those features, you have a cheaper priced alternative (PS4) For those that feel those are features they want, they have an alternative (X1). I am leaning PS4 and i do not see anything here other than the title of the article that should anger any PS4 customers.

This whole forum has a serious rash. You can't kill the tickle.
I agree. If JRPGS are what you love, you couldn't go wrong choosing the Japanese console. Hope you have a great Holiday season. My only concern is software. And RPGs are always most important to me. That said, I think Sony is the obvious choice for me since the PS4 will probably be getting a lot of JRPGs that Microsoft wouldn't concern themselves with.
PS4 has the features I want so that's what I'm going with first.
You got me Hammer! I'm one of those ignorant ones who prefers to only read thread titles, so:Let's change the title and give it a negative spin. *LOL*

*lol* Oh how how you left yourself open for a smart aleck riposte! Seriously, it's a great console, too! Enjoy!Yeah, not surprised as they implement entertainment features into this assessment. But for me, PS exclusives > MS exclusives and combined with the price point, it really was a no brainer for me.
Just a little lesson in hyperbole and spin doctoring! It's funny how the exact same thing can be given different connotations by the parsing of a few words. You got me Hammer! I'm one of those ignorant ones who prefers to only read thread titles, so:
With the old title, I was going to post "Good job by MS to come back from the backlash from the spring".
But with the new title, I'm thinking a more accurate reply is "Winning means nothing unless it's by a landslide".
Just kids having fun. If we treat each other with dignity and respect, we can throw all the snowballs we want! The tickle fight thread returning from it's grave?
That is the unfortunate thing about owning a MS product. Here's to hoping that we'll see Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon come back on X1 though. Those 2 titles alone should hold off my JRPG cravings for a while. My only concern is software. And RPGs are always most important to me. That'll be something we still have to see. MS commented they will support Japan, but who knows what that will mean. They tried with 360 with a bunch of JRPGs, which were more than what PS3 had, but it still didn't fly with the Japanese market. So the effort was there for 360, but whether MS wants to devote a chunk of effort to retrying again remains to be seen. They may just forget it and focus more on NA/Europe.That is the unfortunate thing about owning a MS product. Here's to hoping that we'll see Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon come back on X1 though. The Japanese Market is always hard for Westerners to crack. Still, Microsoft has a firm toehold, now, and a loyal fifth column established. Just sit back and watch what word-of-mouth will accomplish, this gen. That'll be something we still have to see. MS commented they will support Japan, but who knows what that will mean. Perhaps MS should have tried co-branding Xbox with a well known Japanese company.... Panasonic, Sharp or whomever. That's just for the hardware. All the software can remain as is.The Japanese Market is always hard for Westerners to crack. Still, Microsoft has a firm toehold, now, and a loyal fifth column established.
