Trials Fusion: April 16th

Trials Fusion developer RedLynx will release a launch-day patch for the Xbox One version of the game in order to bump up its resolution, reports Eurogamer.

Ubisoft, Trials Fusion's publisher, told Eurogamer that the racing title currently runs at 60 frames per second in 800p on Xbox One, and the patch will bring it to 900p. On the other hand, the PlayStation 4 version of the game runs in 60 fps at 1080p. RedLynx had previously indicated that it was aiming for that frame rate and resolution on both new consoles.

Trials Fusion launches April 16 on PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, while the Windows PC version will be available April 24. Check out our recent preview for more details.

Merged the three Trials Fusion threads into one.

I will be playing this in glorious 600p 60 FPS on 360.

I love me some Trials, no other game can make me replay the same 5 second passage of play over and over and over and over and over and then I've made it... hang on... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! *CRASH*

ill be picking this up, I get to frustrated with the Extreme tracks but I enjoy the others. Feel free to add me for some MP.

It'll play just fine on the 360. They can take that XB1 gimped version to that landfill and bury it with all those Atari 2600 games, for all I care.

While I agree that 900p on the X1 is puzzling for this game, considering the virtual non difference between 1080p and 900p, it'll still look great, and more importantly, be a blast to play.

I've heard that Online Multiplayer will not be available upon release but will be available later as a free DLC Patch, So it sounds like no playing with online friends on release just local MP on the same TV.

If true this sucks .

I might be picking this up. Haven't decided yet. Looks good, but I'm not sure I can handle the added stress on my life

Played it for about an hour this morning on PS4. Wasnt blown away by anything I saw and it feels just like the other 2 versions I had on 360. But its just plain fun to play and looking forward to competing with friends. I put up a few top 50 times but there are only about 1800 on the boards thus far.

Ill post more impressions after I have explored it a bit more.

Edit: If any of you on PS4 want to add me to help push each others times I am PSN ID: xOblongx

Available now on PSN. Deluxe version only. I'm waiting for just the game.
What system you getting this on? Most of the fun of the last game was MP with you guys so wasn't really thinking about picking this one up.

I tried this out today on PC, and yep, you're right. I tried both 1080P and 1600x900p and they were virtually identical. The 900p was a little softer looking, but with the xbox up-scaling to 1080P it will likely not be noticeable .

Enjoying it but not surprisingly the Ubisoft servers suck and will not stay connected.

Saw this at Walmart today during my lunch break, almost grabbed it but ill wait for the $20 version tomorrow. Not sure I want to commit to the season pass.

Ridiculous how long it takes to sign into Ubi servers and how long it takes to submit a time after you finish.

Just a heads up for those trying to decide which version to get. From Polygon:

"Trials Fusion is stymied by some glaring technical issues. The most noticeable of these arrives in the form of texture pop-in, as signs and background environments jump from blurry to sharp from one second to the next. Both the Xbox One and the PS4 versions of the game suffered from these issues. The Xbox One version also has additional problems, as various levels show harsh frame rate drops and screen tearing."

I found the trick system/FMX thing to be awful.

Been playing some more and got the the FMX thing and I agree with you completely. I found no joy at all running through those "must do tricks" tracks. I see what they were going for with the ragdoll physics tricks but it often gets the bike/rider into a twisted pretzel unable to realign to complete a landing. SSX is sooo much better in that regard.

The ATV's are ok I guess but not something I would have asked for.

What does shine are the tracks as you get past the easy ones. Some ingenious designs and really fun to traverse. The design tools are pretty deep and I'd love to make a few but not sure if I can translate my visions into tracks until I get over the deep learning curve.

I have had no luck signing into my UPlay account on PS4 - they must be having issues. With the saves, sometimes it sticks on "saving...." but I can exit out and my times have still been saved regardless. This game is going to need some patches, especially adding in multiplayer.

All in all, it's still Trials...and it's still really fun to play.

The FMX stuff is just bad, luckily there isn't many of them. The game feels great apart from a few hiccups here and there, but it's disappointing that there's no MP at launch. It was fun playing through stupid custom tracks with friends, hopefully the MP update isn't that far away. I really don't know what the purpose of the quad is either. Overall, technical issues aside the gameplay is spot on still. Will be great once the mapping community get settled down and start producing the insane variety of stuff we got in Trials Evo.
