You actually going to stick around for a while or do you still need to ask permission from your wife?I just follow the bouncing boobies which I still have on my home computer...I have a ton of old avatar from TXB on my home computer...
Funny man...With the new job I have time to browse forums, etc. I just never bothered because I was bitter about TXB. I did spend time at NeoGAF for abit. I also just signed up for a Reddit account..You actually going to stick around for a while or do you still need to ask permission from your wife?

Shock, you need to write a "History of TXB" book. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. It wasn't. But the truth is I was prepared to just let it close up than to sell it and have it destroyed. That's why we refused to allow IGN to implement Insider, which they were very heavy on at the time. They wanted us to become a 'premium' site but I refused. So at first we turned down the offer. It wasn't until we spent 3 months talking about what TXB was and why it was growing that people like Mark realized what we had and understood that leaving it to its own device was best. And ultimately it meant careers for people working the main staff.
Rob went on to work for both EA and Microsoft, where he is now for the second time. Tony went on to be one of the top engineers at IGN. Nate went on to write for IGN and also worked for Apple.
So please don't tell me that selling to IGN was simply about money in my pocket. It was about giving the community the best chance to survive, and it did for another decade. And it was about allowing some of the people who worked so hard to create it, the chance to make something more out of it.

Shock was doing a lot more with the front page materials then the forums. Art, dealing with IGN, etc.Why he wasn't there the whole time.. and no offense to his crew but the latter mods were better.
Mad props for STARTING txb though.
No, you were supposed to declare sex with TFX. We'll let it slide.I was told to declare BEEF before my account was approved.

Yup. Same here. I appreciate this place for the company and discussions, similar to what we once had as a great community at TXB, Plainview. Thanks for UVGF!
Thanks Plainview for being there to the end. I honestly shouldn't have de-admined myself and helped out, but I was pissed and I know a few us (TFX, Kofi, Dad) pretty much said "See ya" and promoted ourselves to users
shadowsneak... Oh, the memories of banning you when I was a mod for the OXM TXB subforums. Lol.Nice of them to offer something rather than nothing. At least they're trying for those that want to make that jump. I'll be all over for now.

Yeah, 1313EvilHomer never seemed to be a corporate droid. He was pretty appreciative for mods/admins at TXB.To be clear, Teddy never took any admin permissions away of his own free will. His hand was forced by upper management, right before they fired him.
And TXB wasn't his only responsibility. He had TXB, and every other "portal" site for game franchises that IGN ran, plus Ve3D and others, plus the whole IGN board system, etc.
Don't get me wrong. IGN really screwed things up with TXB. But equating those stupid IGN decisions with Teddy is a fallacy.

Yep, he got the axe just after they had him close all the portal sites. Ridiculous. Short-sighted. Chicanerous. Deplorable. They axed him as well? Sheesh.
It was either him or Cesar asking us to start moderating the comments section. I think when I saw that I had to run and hide. The comments section was the worst. Would have been better with better moderation tools...
I also remember my account getting hacked when I was an Admin and whomever used my account tried stealing the TXB database...Nomb yelled at me for that..I got nasty text messages :-(
Got it, and responded!I might as well link my accounts together. Geez, my IGN account is from 2001, dayum.
SimpsonsFan, I'll send you a PM.
Thanks man, the only thing I didn't know was my exact post count there, it was around 73,000...lolYep, he got the axe just after they had him close all the portal sites. Ridiculous. Short-sighted. Chicanerous. Deplorable.
