Walking Dead Season 2

How well are the choices you made in Season 1 carried over? I'm prolly gonna dl it this weekend.

The game uploads your Season 1 save, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't have much of an impact, outside of a few minor references and a recap of "the story so far." Episode 1 is pretty much a fresh start for the story.

Well that's kinda a bummer, specially since they tout the consequences of your decisions so much.

Well, you know, in Season 1,
almost everyone is dead by the end, except Clem and some minor characters, so there aren't a lot of consequences left over to work with.

And then, early in Ep. 1 of the new season,
the only two characters leftover from the first season, Ovid and Krista, are quickly dispatched, leaving you alone with Clementine, without any connection to previous characters.

Maybe later, there will be more of a tie-in to Season 1, but honestly I'm not expecting it, or even wanting it, really. Season 1 felt pretty complete in itself.

Fwiw, I have never personally been very concerned with whether my choices in a game have different ramifications for the story, down the road. I know that's something many people consider important, but it's never been a big draw for me. It always seemed like a bit of an abstraction.

What matters to me is whether my choices have an impact on me at that moment. Do they seem weighty, difficult, do they involve tough choices, do they impact me emotionally, do they make a difference in the story at that moment? That's what matters to me. I don't think anyone can fault TWD in that regard. I love how they give you tough choices that make a big difference to the way the story unfolds in that moment and that also feel very impactful to me, emotionally.

Played through a bit more of Episode 1 (Season 2). Good stuff. Don't want to say much, because I don't want to spoil things, but fans of the first season shouldn't be disappointed. Gorey, gritty, and depressing fun awaits you.

Thanks for the impressions. I bought it and I've yet to play it. However, the spoilers you posted earlier, is disappointing. Telltale needs to be honest about how choices affect the game. The choices are still one dimensional.

I suppose it depends on what you're looking for. If you really want your Season 1 choices to show up in Season 2 somehow, you're going to be disappointed.

Personally, like I said above, that's not the draw for me. I'm more interested in whether a choice seems interesting and emotionally impactful in the moment, vs. whether it shapes the story down the road.

Still need to play 100 Days, I downloaded it on my 360 have yet to play it though. I'm going to wait until season 2 is done before starting it because the wait between episodes is too much.

Yes I too rather have the choices effect the immediate story at hand, than some plot points far down the line. I think TWD has done a great job in that aspect, the choices you have to make are urgent, sometimes brutal and have a decent effect on the story at hand.

I think it's just the way that the story decision are advertised that have people disappointed, the choices you made in S1 effecting S2, and its turned out to be not so much.

Oh, okay, I never really heard that piece of the PR, so I wasn't expecting it anyway.

Just finished the first Episode. Good stuff, ending was a little abrupt, but I guess that's the nature of this episodic stuff. Now the long wait for Ep. 2.

Seemed like it was between 1 1/2 and 2 hrs.

Enjoy. I heard they lost the lead writer. Don't know what happened to him. The series seems to have the same tone and feel, though, so I can't really tell a difference.

Finally got around to playing Episode 1 last night. Man, it feels good to be back in TWD's world. I loved the first season, so I'm glad they decided to make more.

Awesome! I think TWD has some of the best value going for DD gaming. Great production values, really enjoyable content and great pricing.

Just played through Episode 1 of Season 2, awesome!

Guess I'm a dick, myself and only 30% of people denied the dying man the water

Anderson, episode 2 is out. Have you played it yet. I am downloading it now.

No, not yet. Thanks for the heads up, though. I'll have to decide whether to play it piece by piece or wait for the whole thing to finish before playing it. That's what I did with Wolf, because playing one episode every few months felt too disjointed. I dunno about Walking Dead, though. I'm more hooked into that series, might not be able to wait.

Wolf Among Us are all out? The episodes, I mean.

Ah okay. I can't stand waiting too because I forget what happens if I don't play them all at once.

TWAU is definitely on my waiting list. I am hooked on TWD as you are and I will most likely play it. The wait for this episode didn't seem too long, IMO. It's funny that it came out of the blue without any announcement.

Yeah, me too. I feel like I have to go back and play the first episode again, if there are several months between episodes like with Wolf.

DP is right, though, the wait wasn't so long with Walking Dead. That's probably a priority for them, to keep those coming at regular intervals.

That's good. I hope they release all episodes in time for the Halloween 2014 sale so I can buy all at once.

I know I would have thought there would have been some kind of announcement or something...
