Walking Dead Season 2

I haven't finished the 2nd episode, but it's looking good so far. :)

Just finished Season2 Ep2 this afternoon. Man, I love the gameplay present in these games. I haven't bought the Fables one yet, but I'm seriously thinking about it. I can't get enough of the old-school adventure game style. I can't wait to see what Telltale comes up with for their Game of Thrones project.

Is it the same team that's doing TWD?

Don't know. The only thing that's been announced is that it's happening. They haven't announced what consoles it's going to be on or anything. Apparently, the first episode of the game should be out this year, though. So that's good.

Sounds good, they definitely know how to make great games.
Hopefully they don't spread themselves to thin.

Considering that we don't get many adventure games, it's a nice change to be getting a bunch of them. I don't know if you've heard, but they're also making one based on the Borderlands games. It's good that they've found their niche. Kind of like Traveler's Tales with their LEGO games.

There are many good adventure games available on PC.

Exactly my point though, all these new IP's in the pipeline, hopefully the TT quality doesn't suffer, or the games releases get spread out to far apart.

I know. But those of us that prefer consoles don't have too many options.

As long as the quality doesn't suffer, I could play games of this style all day.

Love the walking dead and got wolf on psn+ for $9. Knew nothing about the wolf lore going in and absolutely love it after playing the first 2 eps, but was hooked after 1 ep anyways. It's another winner from tell tale!

Telltale should forget about Borderlands and focus on something bigger like making a Breaking Bad game. That would be f***ing awesome!

Hells yeah! I'm not to psyched for the TT BL game myself, I'm sure it'll be the usual goodness that are TT games, it's just that I get my BL fix in the BL games proper.

Yeah, I'm not too into the idea of a Borderlands TT game, either. I think Gearbox has been wearing the franchise thin relatively fast with the two games and two zillion expansions. But I guess it's better than their Aliens game!

You guys are crazy. I'm psyched for the tell tale borderlands game cause there's so much more story to tell in that world. I don't think they're wearing the franchise thin at all because the first game had a paper thin story that was basically non existent. The 2nd game was the only one with a proper story. Tons of stories to be told in that universe still.

I don't think that BL is getting worn out, I just get my fill of the franchise from Gearbox's games. I'd rather have TT spend their time on say TWD, a franchise that is so well served by TT style and has little other voice in video games. I do love me some BL too, it is one of my favorite new IPs of last gen.

Season 2 is out on PS4 and X1 now. I downloaded it and played through Episode 3. I prefer buying the whole series at once, rather than waiting for installments. That way, I can remember the situations and characters better.

It's good. Like the first season (maybe even moreso), it's very much an "interactive story," with emphasis on "story." You spend the majority of your time watching the action unfold and only occasionally give gameplay input, usually in the form of dialog choices. There is a little zombie-hacking, too.

Compared to Season 1, there is more action, and the plot moves faster. In a way, that's good, because it keeps you interested. In a way it's bad, because the pace seems less natural and more artificial, like the writers are throwing everything at you, creating crises around every turn. As a result, characters get killed off before you really get to know them, and scenes that are supposed to be emotionally impactful occasionally fall flat.

I'm enjoying it, though. There is an interesting set of characters, with plenty of conflict and tension, as well as moments when people act heroically. Recommended for anyone who enjoyed Season 1.

trying to avoid spoilers to this game, but does anyone know if the ps4 versions have improved technically? the ps3 version had a lot of stuttering and the loading was pretty bad.

my copies should be ariving tomorrow :)

I haven't noticed as much stuttering as in the 360 version of Season 1. The PS4 version isn't a technical marvel, that's for sure -- there still some occasional hiccups -- but I think it runs a bit smoother.

cool, thanks!

there really are no excuses for hiccups with this game on the new hardware :/

Just finished Season 2. I enjoyed it, although it wasn't as good as Season 1. In Season 1, the relationship with Lee was central and constant, and Clem's youth and innocence added a real poignancy to it. In Season 2, the relationships are always shifting, and Clem is more grown up. Season 2 didn't pack the emotional whallops of Season 1. It had its moments, though.

If I were to grade it, I'd say Season 1 was an A, and Season 2 was a B. Episodes 4 and 5 were the best.

so i bought physical copes of season 1 & 2 to play with a consistent save on ps4. after playing through season 1 i boot up season 2 and it turns you can't use your save file :? so, so lame. that's like the purpose of this type of game. and from whati've searched telltale has terrible customer service and rarely issue patches. godammit

this effects EU and AU, not the US, apparently.

Makes me want to stray away until (if) they fix that issue. What's the point if the save doesn't carry over?
