Aladdin wasn't actually too bad, Will Smith and the city itself kind of saved the movie imo.

Will Smith as the genie (in the trailers at least, haven't watched the movie) looks horrible lol
Biggest reason for me not watching it

It never looks particularly good when he is blue but his performance is good

You just can't go in expecting someone to replicate Robin Williams.

That isn't true. We do know wy he was sent. and where he comes from is largely irrelevant. Same as it is largely irrelevant in Superman. It gets explored in Superman because knowing where he comes from is a driving force of the character. That isn't the case in Brightburn...not yet anyway.

The story of Superman isn't the same anyway. Yes, lots of similarities but still very different. For starters, the reason Superman is good is in large part due to his earth parents. Which is why theif lives/characters are more explored. In Brightburn the parents are irrelevant, hence why exploring their characters is pointless. We know why the kid is how he is.
We don't really know why, we don't know where he comes from or how he gets his powers, with Superman we get the whole backstory and we know the yellow sun gives him his powers. I get where you are coming from but I think anyone who finds fault with the movie for not at least filling in some of those blanks would have a valid complaint.

Watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters, it was a fun movie and worth a watch if you are a Godzilla fan but it could have been better.

Finding fault is a far cry from being confused, though. I just don't see how anybody could be confused.

Scare Stories To Tell In The Dark - Average
It really was average.

It has that obligatory under the bed scene, which was done quite well. People were laughing because of the suspense in that scene. I felt disappointed with the movie as a whole. The group wasn't that likeable, so you weren't rooting for them..
despite the set up to get some of the group members back for a sequel.[/spoilers]

I really didn't care about the group. They were so flat. Not sure if it's the source material, or not, but they were just so average and bland as characters.

Some of the Ghostbusters reboot. I was on a TV where I was getting lunch.

It was weirdly fascinating seeing how fvcked up it was. Like it came from a marketing team in a mad scientist lab.

Saw the Banana Splits movie, originally a rejected FNAF script retooled to adapt the Banana Splits show into an R-rated horror film. Overall, I thought it was fun. You don't see movies like this very often, and the kills are fun to watch. It's a shlocky low budget horror film, but it's fun for people who are into that kind of thing. That said, they're plenty of bad stuff going on. Sometimes they go a bit too generic with the cliches, like a mom having her sweater get torn off so show off more of her body, with literal close-ups and everything, and the origins of the banana splits are a bit weird. They blame them going nuts on a corrupted software update, but it's suggested that they're somewhat self aware before that. I feel like the software update was useless and less creepy than AI's going nuts.

Re-watched the Superman: Doomsday animated movie, still one of my favorite DC animated films.

This clip showing Doomsday "superman" punching a shell from a tank at :57 seconds in is pretty freaking cool lol. The fights in this movie are really good across the board. I'm not a fan of some of the art choices they made for certain characters but overall it's a really good animated movie IMO.
