What movies have you seen recently?

Anyone seeing a pattern to the stories in these 20-30 year sequels (films and shows)? Almost the same plot as the original, but with additional characters that end up taking the helm.

I don’t think it ruins the movie, but definitely hurts what’s one of the best Sci-fi films since the year 2000. Movie still holds up.

I think some strange pressure creeps into the process or story writing feeling like there needs to be an antagonist and being in space makes this really awkward to shoehorn in ( if the movie doesn't have aliens ). It results in random guy going insane in space like Interstellar or Ad Astra.

Sunshine felt like it suddenly turned into the last part of Event Horizon.

With that said, the direction of Sunshine is otherwise very good, it's just this one thing is a strange thing to drop into it.

It just felt so out of place when that happens in the last act. Should have just discovered what happened to the other crew, you find out leader lost his mind through audio logs, and then the last act was them just trying to survive and complete the mission. Film would’ve been perfect.

Samurai Cop

This is truly a "So bad it's good" film. You may have seen clips of this movie because the movie is so bad it made its way into bad movie acting compilations, which is why I ended up watching it. It's available to watch on Tubi, which is a app for free movies and shows. Mostly decades old stuff but the app is on most platforms and can view content as a guest if you don't want to sign up.

Eternals fun fact: The creator of the comics was inspired by the book "Chariots of the God's" which is a book that theorizes that extraterrestrials are responsible for the missing link in the primate to human genome and serve as the basis for religion and tribe deities.

Given the symbolism seen through out ancient cultures the book might not be too far off.

OK forced myself to finish it. At the 1 hour mark, it finally gets somewhat interesting, then the visuals get pretty good. The premise is decent enough, and it had a good enough of a payoff at the end.
How funny peoples tastes are eh? I nearly quit Dune twice but struggled though it. I thought Eternals was 5 times more enjoyable than Dune.

Scream - Ridiculous. The plot of the movie is just outright dumb. If you wanna watch scream, just watch the original one.
