What movies have you seen recently?

I honestly believe that Netflix content gets reviewed poorly because it's....in the interest of reviewers to downplay their content.

I mean every single post on here by us guys enjoyed Red Notice, and got more than we expected out of it.

So yeah, pretty annoying not being able to rely on reviews. Who knows what we're passing on watching because of it.

Rotten Tomatoes used to be pretty good for me but that was year ago, then again Netflix used to let us rate their content and they took that away.

What can you do?
I didn't. I thought it was mediocre at best.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - Good

Haven't seen it since I saw it in 60fps on the big screen when it first came out. Didn't remember much other that the opening dinner, but I guess I liked it a little better this time as my IMDB rating was average. Some of the effects are terrible though.

I’ve enjoyed a lot of films over the years that got mixed to low reviews. It takes a horrible film all around for me to feel like I wasted my time and was not interested or entertained in the least.

They didn't, that's her real face now lol
I remember watching Aquaman in complete awe of her new face. Idk if it's botox overload or something done with a knife but she do look pretty horrendous now.
I read that hey added small prosthetics to her face for the role, yeah her normal face is frozen too but I don't think her cheeks are quite as puffy. Actors/Actresses should be told that if they freeze their faces they won't be hired, you have to be able to emote and you can't do it all from your eyes.

Anything with Gandalf gets an automatic good from me lol plus he actually used magic a little bit in that one lol.

Yepp, and she put things in her ass (and no, I don't mean penises), looks like s***.
Madonna kept herself looking good for as long as she could but then people started saying she was too in shape and talking about veins in her arms etc. She had subtle work done for years which was fine but then she started going crazy with the cheek fillers and then that ass implant which looks ridiculous. When people say "I don't want to see her 60 year old ass" I just tell them the ass is only 2 years old so they are a creep for looking at it in the first place lol.

The sad part is she used to be the one that projected confidence no matter what she did but now she seems very insecure, she's accomplished so much in her life and most people in her industry would kill to be a 1/4 as successful as she's been but she seems like she thinks she has to compete with them when she was fine for a long time doing her own thing. They didn't play her music on the radio because of her age but she'd still sell out stadiums around the world.

I saw that GamePass Ultimate came with free 30 days of Disney+ so decided to catch up on Marvel movies. I'm way behind so Dr Strange was the next to watch. Not sure if it was the fact I haven't seen a Marvel movie in maybe a year now, or that I didn't know anything about the comic, but I really enjoyed it.

I also didn't watch X-Men beyond First Class so want to watch the rest of those as well.

Also, not sure how it works but I think you can get more free time of Disney+ if you are a current (6 months) or past (3 months) Amazon Music Unlimited sub. Of course saw that the day after I went with GP Ultimate method.

Oh and shout-out to the Disney app on Roku. Most apps are trash but this one is nice. Also like the addition of IMAX scenes. I realize though that I need a newer Roku since mine doesn't have Dolby Atmos.

I also watched Dr. Strange a couple years later, I think it's in the top tier of Marvel movies for sure. Had no expectations but I loved it.

Watched Don't Look Up over the weekend. Loved it. A bit preachy, but it was fun and really funny.

I rated it on my Facebook feed as 5 out of 5 triggers.

Caught up on some movies over the weekend. Don’t Look Up is both funny and sad because it isn’t that far off from our society since 2016. No Time To Die I really liked it was a great send off for Craig’s Bond.

Looking forward to finally watching new Ghostbusters soon. Will probably just buy it.

Motivational Growth:

Strange ass indy film.

Main character is a weird depressed guy who gets upset when his old TV breaks and starts taking life direction from a sentient bathroom mold in his apartment that starts speaking to him. Or he has just gone insane.

It's kind of humorous just from how strange the premise is, but it's also lite horror.

Bonus: The Mold is voiced by Jeffrey Combs which helps prop up the movie.

2nd Bonus: Oddly cool 8-Bit game style music soundtrack.

The Power of the Dog (Netflix) - Very Good and just one several Golden Globe awards
On my list of things I need to watch really soon. Will probably be nominated for Best Picture.

Edit: just saw it won Best Drama lol so yeah definitely need to watch it.

Don't Look Up - Good

But not as good as Idiocracy.

I liked Don't Look up, but damn it was long, and felt like a mash up of Idiocracy and Mars Attacks.

Enjoyable watch for the most part, will probably never watch it again.

Idiocracy on the other hand, well I might go watch that again right now haha.

It was very good. Glad people like it because it's not some new crazy thing, it's just really well done.

I loved Idiocracy and I can see the similarities, but Mars Attacks? Besides an ensemble cast I'm lost lol
