What movies have you seen recently?

Better than the last. I didn’t like Temple of Doom much, so it’s better than that. Last Crusade was my favorite. I’d put it third.
Temple of Doom is my favourite. Last Crusade is my least favourite. Lol. Figures.

Better than everything post the original trilogy is promising, though.

Should be going to see it tonight.

Temple of Doom is my favorite as well. Probably because it was the first one I ever saw.

Indiana Jones and The Dial Of Destiny - Not bad. Much greater respect for Indy's age in this one. Less forced comedy. Best Indiana Jones movie since the original trilogy.

I did roll my eyes at the Tuk Tuk scene.

Thought it could have been a bit shorter too.

It was also the best de-aging if seen thus far by a great margin.

Paprika

What a ride. Just mad endless surrealism. Loved it.

It loosely involves an invention that allows access to dreams that has been stolen. First, some dream are getting invaded or hacked making people insane, then waking mass delusion starts to spread.

Joy Ride - Great

Really enjoyed it. One of the best, if not the best, chicflick/girl’s movie I’ve ever seen. Clueless is the number one, but Joy Ride is damn close of not just as good. See it with someone as it’ll be even better.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - Good

Wait......what?

Better than that Crystal Skull thingy? (I've honestly liked every single Indiana Jones movie, still have Raiders on Beta sitting around somewhere and can't play it)

65 - On Netflix now. Not great, not bad, pretty pretty clearly a "made during the pandemic" . movie. Goes by quickly. Weird that this was made by the writer / directors of Haunt.

John Wick 4 - good

It's John Wick. Formulaic at this point, but there were a a few scenes with just outstandingly creative photography. Some other scenes with blindingly bad lighting though.

I always watch Jaws during the 4th of July break (which I did again this year). I picked up an inexpensive 3 disc bluray set of the Jaws sequels, and decided to revisit them all this July as well. Aside from 2, I haven't seen the rest of these since I was a kid. Watched Jaws 2 this weekend, I remembered it being much better than it was. Kinda feels like 2 different movies awkwardly slapped together. Watched a tiny bit of the special features, there apparently were two directors and a massive script re-write after filming had started, so I guess that all checks out.

I may need alcohol to make it through 3 and 4.

I have the 4K version of Jaws and got Jaws 2 on sale on Vudu months back. It actually is an entertaining film not that bad of a sequel. Haven’t seen 3 and 4 in over a decade.
