I heard its way easier after the first boss. Kind of silly how these games do that. Thought Bloodborne was similar with Gascoigne.

I did find the next couple main bosses a lot easier, for the first boss I was relying too much on parry instead of blocking and parry, had a much easier time in his second phase.

I'm right there with the first boss. I can get through first phase. I'm just really bad at timing parries.

Can't there be a bossless mode?

Sounds like the PC port is pretty badly optimized...

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has received a total of 70% negative reviews on launch day.
Most of the negative reviews reported mouse and keyboard control issues.
The game also has lots of performance issues with the PC port of the game.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has received a slew of negative reviews on Steam due to its terrible mouse and keyboard support. Currently, the game is sitting at around 3,000 reviews, with about 70% of them being outright negative.

Most of the negative reviews seem to hold poor optimization for the game’s mouse and keyboard controls, while others report performance issues for the PC port of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

No loss. I was never really interested in the game.

I don't have time for games that f***s with my time like that. I can handle most souls like, but that's because they lure you in with semi hard enemies that gets progressively harder. Making my mind rage like this game most definitely will, that early in... no.

Had it installed on both my xbox's, uninstalled it 5 minutes ago without even starting it.

I'm out. I was OK up to the boss. I don't get the joy in replaying and learning move sets. To me it's frustrating. Like Swede said, maybe if there was some more progression leading up to it. You're kinda stuck with whatever equipment and spells you got. I did farm a little bit, but it didn't help me a whole lot. In the end, it's not for me.

Seriously, I would have been cool with the rest of the game minus the stupid large bosses.

All the people quitting … do you play other Soulslikes?

Got me scared to start this lol

I've finished Elden Ring, Salt and Sanctuary, Hollow Knight. I have a limit on these types of games. It also depends on the story and gameplay when comes to determining how long I'll stick it out.

For me, it wasn't a loss since it was on Game Pass. I already knew from the first demo that I was hesitant. The gameplay was fine, I'm just not one to dwell over the boss element and trying and trying again. For me, it could take hours, not just 5 or 6 times. I'll look on youtube for cheesing or what's the best tactic. I'm just not in the mood to deal with that, because I know what it'll take for me.

Try the demo. I think it's still available.

I'm finding the game easier than elden ring, not better. Made it through a few levels and the first boss was by far the hardest. Dunno why they made him that hard and you can't even co-op him.

You can power through his first phase, just keep hitting him and parrying his special attack (watch out for different timing) his second phase I just held block and kept my distance and parried his grabbing special attack as that opens him up for your own fatal strike.

How do you cast the divine beast ? I got it a couple times in second phase but can't get it to cast , am I missing something ? Lol

Should just be Y+B, I think you have to set it at the battle flag.

Got it. I am just blind, it told me at the left hand of screen when my gauge was full lol. The first big boss was the most difficult for sure because you were bit underlevelled. You just need to parry / dodge to build up the gauge. Don't be too greedy with your attacks. Balanced offense and defense. Took me like half hour 😂

I actually enjoyed the demo, beat it all the way through past the two levels and the 3 big bosses. I put the Language to Chinese because this is the Han dynasty so made the immersion better. Hopefully my saved content will transfer over to the real game once / if I get it.

Performance wise: no issues but did stutter bit when I was moving the camera fast horizontally when I was trying to stress test otherwise silky smooth for like 99% of the game on the PS5.

Just can't get into this game right now. Going to put it on the back burner and come back to it later in the year.

Why not have a game with different difficulty modes? Everyone can enjoy it regardless of skill/patient level.

That's why I don't play "soul" games. What I hate about these "hard" games, is the difficulty spike. You are doing okay, & you feel good, then they have one boss or part that becomes a wall that you are not prepared. You feel frustrated as you invest much time into the game.
You have 2 hours a day cap for playing games, but you can't get pass one boss within that time, Fk you.

Luckily I pulled out of Elden ring at 20+ hours & moved on. Kudos to people who like challenges. I play games for fun. My iRL work is challenging enough.

Because it's apparently very offensive to have a game that anyone can just pick up and play on different settings Because a group of gamers think anyone cares if they completed a Souls game.

I get it, being hard is a selling point for the soul genre. Taking away hardness takes away the achievement of finishing a soul type game. But fk, does every hack & slash game need to follow the same formula? Have some hard games for the elitist gamers. Let the rest of us enjoy able to enjoy games as hobby, passtime.

Not every thing in life needs to be challenging.

This game looks like fun, but fk, I do not want to fight a boss for 3 days, or loss my process & redo the same s*** I did 30mins ago.

Lots of devs are following the success of Souls because they want in on the money and fame. The Souls genre went from being a cult following to now mainstream because of this.

From still the best in the business for the genre and it shows.

Having said that, Wo Long is a great game from what I have played so far. I particularly like the customization of the characters in this game , I have a beautiful Chinese Empress looking heroine 😂
