It isn't even all about that money, though. The playstation money is pocket change compared to that of Xbox's ambition. He fails to grasp that it is all about Game Pass. MS don't care about normal sales, they only care about growing the GP service. That is what all these purchases are for.
Yes

Diablo IV is now listed for Series consoles & PS5 instead of just PC.

Both control types had their benefits, but I felt the game was more immersive with a controller.
I'm not a PC gamer so controller just feels more natural to me for everything, it's probably a built-in bias lol.

The irony here is this video centres on the idea that the FTC is most worried about the merger having a negative impact on employees, but Activision/Blizzard isn't a positive place for employees anyway going by all that has been said by employees.

Seems like an odd facet for the FTC to get hung up on.

I’m hearing the employees would rather have MS running it as they’re open and will uphold current and future unions

That is what the video focuses on, the CWA endorsement of the merger.

It seems everybody wants this to happen except Sony and a small percentage of their player base.

"The green light from the Federal Trade Commission for Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard could come next month. A few hours ago the Redmond giant confirmed that it had responded to the second request for sending documentation by the FTC and now the US government agency has 30 days to request further information, otherwise it will have to automatically approve the operation."

I know I'm being presumptuous but people really thought this wouldn't get green-lit?

It's the fact that Microsoft went on a rampage buying all these studios and publishers.
I am sure MS is not even close, if people think they are done you better think again.

Yeah, I think they will continue for a bit yet. The competition is still much bigger than MS. They would probably look at blocking the acquistion if it was Tencent or Sony, as their gaming divisions are substantially bigger.

European antitrust enforcers are asking whether Microsoft would shut rivals out from Activision's popular video game library as part of a review of the tech giant's planned $69 billion deal for the game developer, according to people familiar with the matter and documents seen by POLITICO.

The European Commission circulated questionnaires to competing firms in early July and officials have also been holding meetings with Microsoft's rivals to discuss their concerns about the record-breaking deal, which is yet to be formally notified in Europe.

According to the Commission's request for information, regulators are keen to know whether and "how Microsoft could selectively degrade the compatibility and accessibility of Game Pass" on rival platforms. Game Pass is Microsoft's video game subscription service for Xbox and PC users.

Competitors have voiced concerns over Microsoft potentially restricting access to some of Activision's titles — such as Call of Duty — for rival subscription gaming services if the deal is approved.

The FTC review is also far from over, with the agency still receiving information from third parties. And that review is wide-reaching — even touching upon Microsoft's $7.5 billion buyout of ZeniMax Media, according to a separate document seen by POLITICO.

Shortly after announcing the deal, Microsoft committed to not withhold Activision titles from other consoles including Sony's PlayStation. Still unclear is whether Microsoft would allow those games on competing subscription services.

And while competitor access to Activision games makes up the bulk of the scrutiny, the FTC's investigation is much broader, incorporating issues including the deal's impact on consumer data and the market for game developers, according to people familiar with the review.

A MoffettNathanson analyst upgraded Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) to Outperform from Market Perform.

The activist's $95 per share price target on ATVI stock reflects Microsoft’s $95 cash offer.
The analyst sees “strong rationale” for why Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) should be able to close the acquisition.

“No, we don’t think the timing of resolution is necessarily imminent. But it’s not wrong to suggest that the Microsoft-Activision deal is entering its final stage,” the analyst told clients in a note.

The analyst doesn’t see “much political heat from Washington” as far as this M&A is concerned.
