Official Thread XBOX Hardware V2

You gonna keep your current ps5 or sell it to buy said pro? I’d give it to my niece but rarely use it, and if they do it’s for fortnite or Minecraft. One is hooked on cocoon, fuga and bioshock 😆

Sell / trade in for the Pro

Have to remember to remove and move the Samsung 980 pro over too 😆

I’m no hardware engineer by day, but I play one behind the screen. Anyway. My guess if and when it’s a thing it’ll be years from now, most likely released along side the next gen console.

run at low settings cos power and screen size where it won’t matter much cos games like resident evil exist on iPhone.

But the only time it’ll go up in lower is when it’s docked and has a line of power to take advantage of instead of the onboard battery…allowing it to use any or all extra features of it, yet still look like mid to low settings when compared to its proper next gen variant.

I'll buy an Xbox handheld.
I'll prob won't buy an Xbox console next gen though, if they have a huge power advantage compared to Sony I might consider it, but there's prob not going to be any exclusives (except timed) for the console since they prob will publish them on PlayStation...
RIP XBOX as I knew it.

I’d probably do both lol like I regret buying a psvr2 over a ps portal 😆

The sooner Xbox one and PS4 can be left behind the better.

XSS is better. Shocker.

Also find it funny he says except maybe AC Mirage, which has a 30fps mode on S with a 2K res and increased shadows, textures, etc.

I find it funny because people don't realise that the gap between XSS and PS5/XSX really isn't big. A XSS at 1080P viewing distance looks very nice. I have played a number of games on PS5 and XSS ranging from Metro Exodus, AC Valhallah all the way to current gen only like Plague Tale 2. PS5 and XSX waste so much resources on 4K. Is 4K sharper and more detailed than 1080P, yes, but to the degree it is worth such heavy resource usage, I don't think so.

The big gap which isn't always present is in performance where the XSS only gets 30fps to PS5/XSX's 60fps...but this requires a massive res drop that ghe S doesn't have the overhead to match.

The biggest problem is when a graphics intense game on Series X goes down to 1080p (or lower sometimes) you get 720p-ish res on the series S, which... usually looks blurry af on a 4k 50" + tv.

Not much you can do there.
