Yeah, Amazon made it rain on them, but I'd say the balance in that transaction heavily favored Amazon.. they went from nothing to world-class graphics engine supplier in about a minute thanks to Crytek. Those PS4 VR games they did flopped as well, they certainly drained their wallets there as well. It would've been awesome to see them take on a Ryse: Damocles focused game with some more magical type abilities, maybe Greek god type stuff like they showed in the trailers before the game launched.

Unfortunately MS and Crytek weren't seeing eye to eye at the time; MS wanted a sequel, but they also wanted the IP rights.. Crytek wanted to keep their IP rights no matter what, even though they were bleeding money, had developers going months and months without getting paid (that happened several times), they had to cancel several projects etc etc.. I'm glad to see they're back and doing well though, their new game looked absolutely sick:

Nah they got demoted to avatars after a bunch of games got canned (Kameo 2, PDZ2 and Urchin and others)
Kinect Sports 1 actually 'saved' them as it did nearly 10m and when Phil killed Kinect they got the chance to make SoT

Another interesting note is. Peter Molyneux was in charge of Xbox Europe at that point and several features in those rare games got stolen for Fable before being canned.

The dog in Fable was taken from a pig companion feature in Urchin. The game was cancelled about a month after PM saw the prototype then shortly after that the dog was announced for Fable II

The funny thing about the Ryse IP rights is Crytek announced not long after that they were shifting focus away from big budget titles and going mobile & F2P instead.

More recently they announced they were focusing on VR games.

And then this new game gets announced which isn't any of those things.

Crytek's kssues will remain regardless of how much hype and money this new game gets. Until they change those in charge of the company Crytek will stay in deep water.

Perusing through other forums and holy crap people don't realize the One S and One X can display games and movies in 10-bit HDR?
 
They won't mess around. Expect Ninja Gaiden Black, Splinter Cells, Morrowind, KOTOR, Jade Empire and all the other classics early on with OG Xbox BC.

The new Better Together Minecraft beta will include Mouse/Keyboard support.
 
Did any of you guys get the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta in your Insider app? I got that twin stick shooter Halo to test a patch, but no DBZ.
 
These native wireless Xbox One headsets are finally available for pre-order!

All of these headsets will connect using Xbox Wireless tech, which is the same way your controller connects to your Xbox One. So in theory you should just turn it on, it should auto-connect/configure and work right away.

Stealth 600 looks pretty cool for $100, but the S700 w/noise-cancellation + real bluetooth functionality might be the winner for a little more bread.

I've never used any Lucid Sound cans, so I'm definitely waiting to see impressions before I drop cash on any of these.

Just got done messing around with the newest build for a few minutes, testing out the cross-plat servers and m/kb support.

Unfortunately at the moment the mouse-look isn't functioning. No clue why, as soon as the game launches it works perfectly all throughout the UI. Once you get in-game though it just stops working. I hope it's just a bug or something because that'd be quite disapointing. Keyboard works perfectly though. Mouse allows for Left-clicking in-game, that's about it, though if you go into settings it works perfectly again.

So many people on that server though, holy crap, screen shoting ingame while in the server wasn't working properly at the moment.

I keep having to unplug my power supply for a few then plug it back in to get it to work. Eventually it will go out and I have to do it again. I'm assuming my power supply is going bad. Anyone else had this problem?
 
I had a real 'cerebral flatulence' moment, I got a new headset for my One and could not get Cortana to hear me. I checked to see if the settings were okay and I notices the turn mic on icon was off, so I switched it to ON. No luck I thought maybe I had a bum headset then I ran my hand over the cord and on the part that had the volume control there was a switch I flipped it and said "Hey Cortana" and she popped up.
