I give Phil a pass pre-Myerson overthrow because my gut on that was there was disconnect above him. Microsoft didn't know what they wanted to do with Xbox and Nadella has even gone on record to say as much. Now there's not much excuse. They got the backing, they know their long term vision...everyone should be on the same page. As far as strategy, they seem to be there. In terms of execution of their strategy, they still have people who aren't qualified in important positions. Like players who aren't paying attention to the coach in the huddle. Major Nelson and Greenberg should not have had as much face time and responsibility for Xbox messaging as they've had. I'm really surprised they're still so prominent.
 
My thoughts from last Thursday is they did show trailers to new games. So we know they are working hard on getting games to Xbox owners and that has me excited. As the months go by, we will get more videos of these games and to ones that were not shown.

I don't think it will matter what MS did last Thursday or does in the future cause there will always be "Xbox failed" or the "death of Xbox" videos on YouTube and in forums.

That makes a change. An engine tech demo that doesn't look far beyond real world possibilty.

Most impressive thing, imo, is geometry. If we can have environments with that level of detail and resolution then that would be awesome.

and yet it took PS to show an awesome video and we got that crappy show and now the damage is done.

This was Epic, not Sony, and they didn't even show a game. They showed of a tech demo, made by Epic, that is for PS4, X1, PC, PS5, XSX and Switch. Sony just paid Epic some coin.

This is gonna look sick on XSX.

but it was demoed on the ps5, that is all people need to hear and see.

No it isn't. I was much happier seeing new games. I love the new unreal engine that is going to be used to make games on 10 different platforms. But more important to me are the actual games. I don't play engines or tech demos.

they said it at the beginning of the video that was running on a PS5.
Yes it is a demo but and we both know that but the internet will always see things differently and right now the demo here is far better to watch over that crappy show that was streamed.

What is important to you? What the internet spreads or what games YOU play. XSX has a 2TF advantage, so the engine will look best on it.

I'm with Hedon on this. There is a stark difference between actual games and an engine tech demo, a demo that as of right now we have no real clue if it Is even representive of what games can acheive or not.

Anybody pushing the narrative you talk of is an idiot.
 
It's a tech demo, sure. It is playable though.

I'm sure Epic will be releasing full assets and all associated files when they start letting early UE5 builds out.
 
IDk, I am just saying even though it was just a tech demo, it was more impressed vs that live steam of pile of crap. MS better use a better format.

The live stream should be not shown for July and instead give use of a bunch of trailers. I rather see that.

They won't be making any sort of game from it. Demo was only 1440p, had drops below 30fps and no raytracing.

If you guys want to see some other cool s***, check Unreal YouTube for their 'Atmosphere' tech, should be recent, like Quixel, it's f***ing absurd how easy it is to use and yet looks amazing. These two new features are also pretty mind blowing, they've got so much man power behind UE In wondering how other companies are justifying their proprietary stuff in comparison.
