Yeah i don't think they're listening. I mean, Greenberg is still employed lol.I can see why you would say this. Many people were disappointed with the May showing. From your mouth to Microsoft 's ears (hopefully)?

Both the Sony show and MS show were pretty dismal IMO. I hope July is the one.Yeah, the May Inside Xbox killed some of the momentum the Series X had going for it. The games they showed, without context were not bad but when hyped up as a glimpse of the next generation, it didn't cut it.
Oh come on now the Sony show was the cat's meow. In reality though, I wouldn't put one show above the other IMO.Both the Sony show and MS show were pretty dismal IMO. I hope July is the one.

This why they should make Aaron Greenberg shut the f*** up.Yeah, the May Inside Xbox killed some of the momentum the Series X had going for it. The games they showed, without context were not bad but when hyped up as a glimpse of the next generation, it didn't cut it.

We can agree to disagree. While some of the games for the Inside Xbox show were interesting, none of it showed off what the XSX was capable of, or perceived capable of. And when the event is hyped as "Tomorrow changes the game" or "first look at next generation gameplay", you need to prove it and they fell short. And they know it.
Sony's reveal took all the criticisms MS had to eat in May and made sure they didn't repeat them. Or at least not in obvious ways. Sony is a master of presentation and they nailed it. Sony leaned into its strength as a publisher of technically beautiful, narrative-driven exclusive games hard. Something xbox has been well documented to be lacking.
IMO, I think what we're seeing with marketing is the true difference between the 2 consoles. Microsoft don't care what you play on as long as your are in their ecosystem. Xbox One, Series X or PC, as long as you are subscribed to Live or Game-pass they don't care.
Sony on the other hand really wants you to get a PS5 and move on from your PS4.
Agreed but he's not the only one that should have to take it on the chin. Phil Spencer was hyping up the leap from Xbox One to Xbox Series X was equivalent to the jump from 2D to 3D graphics a week or so earlier. If you're gonna make that claim, you got to back it up. Nothing they've shown so far matches that claim.

It is an apples to oranges comparison. Lockheart is a third of the power of the XSX. The PS5 sku difference is just a disc drive.PS5's diskless version is very likely way more powerful than the puny 4TF Lochheart is why.
This other console announcement likely shook MS LH plans.
Nice try though.
The problem I have is that even though that MS told us that their show was about 3rd party and partners and was trailers and gameplay, there were more trailers compared to game play. Not a good start. However, Sony had the same problem, including trailers for GT7 and HZD 2, first party. Sony had more trailers than gameplay. MS was lambasted for Ubisoft presenting Assassin's Creed V at 30fps, when nearly every game, including the presentation, at Sony was 30 fps. MS gets whacked for showing 3rd party indies at a 3rd party presentation, and then Sony shows indies at their first party presentation, and it's A OK. The indies Sony showed mostly were not appealing, at least to the core audience. We can agree to disagree. Everwild as well. They’ve only shown like two titles, hellblade 2 and project Mara, but even then I don’t believe they’ve mentioned them running on xsx hardware. I think the only games they’ve show running on said hardware is halo 5, fusion frenzy, Forza 6, ori, and state of decay.

Not sure why it would shake LH plans either.
And probably entirely different price points.(assuming the LH rumors are true)
2 sku's that are cheaper and both are likely diskless.
On the XSX side one in dramatically weaker than the main unit.
Bad marketing on MS part vs good marketing on Sony's part is how it shakes up LH plans.
Not to be mean but....
If you don't see it than you are like MS and don't have a clue so you are part of the small market this will appeal to.

A disk less sku will not knock much off the price. Lockhart should be significantly cheaper than any of the other SKUs. So , no, a discless PS5 doesn't make a difference. The fact you ignorre this is hilarious.(assuming the LH rumors are true)

I have to agree with Hedon. Both shows were pretty poor. The PS5 show was very generic. We never really got any info on anything they showed. The GT7 intro mentioned a revamped campaign but we saw nothing of it. No PS5 price either. We can agree to disagree. MS f***ed up but have a chance to redeem themselves in July. Is Sony doing more events?
Just a hunch by the sound of it.
If rumours are true then MS is f***ed anyway. The rumours suggest xbox has very few new IPs to show. So expect the same narrative as this gen.Oh, come on, Sony showed more first party games at their event than Microsoft did at their... checks notes... third party event. Besides, AC Valhalla is going to be a lol-worthy 30fps on the Series X while the wizards at Sony are showing off stunning games at... checks notes... a crisp 30 fps.
To be honest, if MS' first party event shows 15 minutes of Halo gameplay, 15 of Hellblade, and 10 each of Fable / Forza / whatever the Initiative is working on, and then a couple of minutes per game of trailers for other games their studios are working on in the next two years, that wouldn't be good enough for some. Sadly, they're not going to come anywhere near that anyhow.

My expectations are simple. Games. New games. Gameplay. Game info. The person who originally called the date of Sony's event said they are doing another in August
I think peoples expectations for these shows are sometimes out of whack. Look back at the 2013 reveals and E3s shows for the two of them. I would be surprised if Sony and MS don't better those by a good deal.
