I think it's been much more personal for him, this time around. He's been a primary target. (I know you're implying he's being hypocritical, I just wanted to provide the obvious explanation for "why now").
I don't remember people wishing Sony to go bankrupt. People really want MS to fail, not just Xbox, but people just hate the entire company.
Nah, I mean Major Nelson. As for crying about it, or expecting that it will go away, I hope you don't hear me as doing either of those.
Translation: Since Sony is doing it, it's O-K. Don't worry honey, I never take console warriors like you, serious, you're so easy to spot. "By their fruits ye shall know them". *LOL*As someone who was vocally disparaging about the always-online aspect of the X1 pre-reversal, I do not have a problem with Playstation Now, nor do I find it hypocritical.
Why? Because I don't really give a s*** about Playstation Now and have no current intention of ever using it (on my non-existant PS4). Whereas I would have some inclination to use my (also non-existant X1).
That's where the always-online issue differs for me.
It's his job to promote the Xbox and add positive spin to news releases. I challenge you to produce one instance where he has expressed hatred for Sony, Sony fans, or the PlayStation.I understand but he's sort of part of the problem. He's the one tweeting all these MS PR spins "victories" like "fastest selling" and what not before. He could've just posted simple numbers instead of adding fuel to the fire. I don't know, might be just me but it seems like when he starts getting the heat, he tries to fan it down even though he was part of the ones who started the fire in the first place.

Sorry, you seem to be mistaken. I'm hardly a console gamer at all, let alone a warrior. I barely even play console games. More of a handheld, DS type of guy.Translation: Since Sony is doing it, it's O-K. Don't worry honey, I never take console warriors like you, serious, you're so easy to spot. No false piety from me. I do try keep my discourse on a higher level, from which I am prone to fall, from time-to-time, never-the-less.I never take console warriors like you, serious, you're so easy to spot. "By their fruits ye shall know them". *LOL*
Let's be honest though, not many are really wishing MS to go bankrupt either. And, yes, people HATED on PS. Enough to launch a crippling attack on the PS network.
However, last gen, the PS brand was indeed the punching bag, and go hate left and right.
If it's his job, then he should be able to take the heat. This type of tweet was non-existant last gen, why now? It just seems like he's experiencing a relatively larger amount of hate than before and now he's trying to be all like "come on, guys, tone it down now".
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Just do your job and ignore the hate.
Amusing. He's standing up for himself, and responding in a calm adult manner with a passionate plea for civility. Obviously, he's infuriating the haters by not submitting to being a mute punching bag, or decending to their level, and they can't stand it! Gotta love it! *LOL*If it's his job, then he should be able to take the heat. This type of tweet was non-existant last gen, why now? Thats easy for someone like yourself to say in your position as your not in front of millions of people and the spotlight isnt on you. However, what makes Major a professional is his ability to keep calm where others would cave in and lose control when being ridiculed by rabid fanboys. That if anything is why he is where he is, and you are where you are.Or he could've acted like an adult, ignore the hate and just let his actions do all the talking. Passionate plea for civility? lol, this is the internet, don't take it too seriously ok? You will never get everyone to like you.
Yikes! I hope not. That would be boring!Or he could've acted like an adult, ignore the hate and just let his actions do all the talking. Passionate plea for civility? lol, this is the internet, don't take it too seriously ok? You will never get everyone to like you.

It takes years and years to develop that kind of self control. When in the spotlight, its literally a discipline in and of it self. Whereas if you dont have the experience and your supposedly a professional (not to mention the face of a juggernaut company like Microsoft) an outburst in the face of immature gamers could cost Microsoft and the Major, a shyte load of money and business.
I'm telling you this from experience. Dont be so quick to hash out how a professional is supposed to do his job if you've never been in that position yourself.
9 out of 10 people are more afraid to speak in front of a large audience than dying. Just FYI.

Was he acting professional when he yanked the mic from Angry Joe's hand during an interview during E3 and had a minor meltdown? Did not look anything like it.
Oh no, I was talking about me! *lol*I'm not hashing out what he is or isn't supposed to do. I'm voicing out my opinion of why he is posting this tweet now and not when the other console was getting just as much hate or even more. At the end of the day, it is what it is. When all is fine and dandy in his land, these tweets aren't needed in his perspective apparent from the lack of such tweets in the past. Now when the shoe is on the other foot, gamers need to calm down according to him. Even you should see the hypocrisy in the situation.
Okay good, so you disagree with his tweet then. Gamers shouldn't calm down, they need to go even more crazy to create even more chaos, eh?
Is that all you could come up with? Yep, the guy is human, just like you and me.Was he acting professional when he yanked the mic from Angry Joe's hand during an interview during E3 and had a minor meltdown? Did not look anything like it.
It was a bit of a tense interview, but I definitely wouldn't call that a meltdown.
Props to Angry Joe for asking the hard questions though.

"Angry Joe" is a tool and not what I call professional in the least. The fact that he's "angry" is the first clue. However, Major handled the situation and still kept a level head for the most part, in the face of un-professionalism. Or retardedness? Whichever you might prefer. Was he acting professional when he yanked the mic from Angry Joe's hand during an interview during E3 and had a minor meltdown? Did not look anything like it.
More like you clutching at straws and dredging up ancient history, but haters gonna hate.It was a fine example of professionalism, relax Major.

Oh, don't take everything on the chin. E3 was a nightmare for Microsoft, and judging Larry for one exasperating vignette is no more valid critique of him, than it would be for you or me. Taking a cheap shot at a guy in a moment of weakness hardly ranks as "valid criticism".Yeah, no. Major became unnerved. Joe did not.
Six months ago is ancient history? That is some desperate spin.
And hate? Where? Valid criticism isn't hate. Odd observation coming from someone that takes so many personal shots.
OH
