difference is PS4 doesnt leave software running when in standbyI've left my PS4 in standby since launch and had zero issues. I think it has to do with the 3 OS's the Xbox One is using.

yepYou mean the suspend/resume function? That might be the culprit.
Same for me but with the X1 I've had zero issues.I've left my PS4 in standby since launch and had zero issues.

I think this has been my only problem with the Xbox one. Less tech savy folks would think that their system was broken.I know. Some people have problems, some don't. That's why I said why is it so random?
For a cold reboot, just hold down the power button on the console for 10 seconds. No need to unplug, then wait 30 seconds, then then it back on.
Go with the TV setting for colour depth (24).
Yeah, it's a pretty ambitious feature that works well 95% of the time. It's the 5% that it doesn't work that people remember. For better or worse, the X1 is more like a PC than any console before it.I think this has been my only problem with the Xbox one. Less tech savy folks would think that their system was broken.
Yeah, I'm just confused because it seems to be random. I always leave it in standby and most of time it works fine. Just the few odd times every once in a while that it just doesn't respond and I need to hard reset everytime. Probably a bug in the OS somewhere.
Yup, same here. Mine is in standby all the time, and I have it always boot to TV, and it shuts down to standby. No issues.Same for me but with the X1 I've had zero issues.

Yeah, remember that you can suspend/resume a game AND have multiple apps running as well. I don't really ever have an issue, but I also quit any app that I don't really need active at the time.
were can you see all the open apps?
I love the resume feature. It's like an auto save of an auto save. Jumping right back into a game where you left off is amazing.
You don't need modem router in one, you can have modem and router separate or you can have modem router that you put in bridge mode and connect router to it.Nope, no firewall i can disable. This modem router actually offers very little options.
I did all that. But i received and error when i tried opening port 80. It said it was already in use and thus it was made into 8080 or something. So i googled my modem router and with that error, turns out this modem router and/or provider does not allow port 80 to be opened....so basically....when it comes to that i am f***ed.
The modem router is a Davolink DV2020. Sadly there is no UPNP on it. I also have a Sitecom wireless modem router N300 X2, but no matter what i do...i can't get it to work. I'm gonna call my ISP tomorrow and ask if they can send me a modem router that has UPNP. I am stuck with this ISP until March 2015.
Someone here said if the NAT is strict or moderate..there will be many problems, but i must say i am impressed with how little problems i've had so far until recently.Even when it was strict i could join parties and talk to people.
Yeah the DMZ host was awesome on 360. It worked like a charm. I had given the 360 a IP of it's own and i put that IP in the DMZ host of the modem router. Sadly it didn't do anything for the Xbox One. I have not opened any other ports in my modem router, so that port 80 error is coming from something else. But it's not even something i can fix, with this crap ass modem router i cannot open port 80.
As for Linksys..i have the WRT54G, but it is only a router, not a modem router in one. I only have two modem routers here, but no normal modems unfortunetely. So the Linksys won't work.
If you want multiple consoles to have OPEN NAT you will want a router that has good UPNP (I like ASUS).
I'll be picking up the map packs. So maybe we can hook up and go coop.So i am playing Ryse again and i notice that as i play it more, it really grows on me. At first i wasn't even that impressed with the combat, or well...i wasn't exactly enjoying it. Now....i am loving it. DEM EXECUTIONS! Those painfaces when you hurt fools....and....
DEM GRAPHICS!!!!!
Best plan would be to have your own MODEM and your own ROUTER. Then you can pick your gear and have way more control. If you only have the one console though that you play online then the DMZ will work fine. If you want multiple consoles to have OPEN NAT you will want a router that has good UPNP (I like ASUS).

Another Saturday and you know what that means. Drink some beer, enjoy the weather, and appreciate the soon to be greatest console of all time. That Xbox One.
There's a reason his first two letters are "TD." Every post is an automatic touchdown and any conversation that comes out of it is a two point conversion. The greatest console generation there ever was needs star posters like TD to push the good times into over time.Haha i always laugh at your comments. I don't mean that in a bad way, i find them entertaining.
Looks like the price cut is helping Xbox One sales, the FIFA bundle is beating the PS4 FIFA bundle and funny enough the Xbox One Destiny Bundle with Kinect is beating the PS4 Destiny bundle at Amazon UK
